Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

Haha I've also got a regret tattoo low down on my hip but at least I can hide it :p

We've decided on Thomas with a middle name of Ross after DH's brother.

OK... Lets change the subject again... ;)

I've not been getting very many kicks at all these last few days... I have been getting loads of movement, from tickles to hiccups to what feels like baby twisting or something.. But no kicks...
Should I contact the hospital????

we havent even discussed names properly, we dont want to get set mainly on boy/girls to be having the opposite sex.

But from 1st pregnancy i still like, James & Sophie.

Jacob we decided on when he were born but did have James and Tyler picked out. My foster sis has double barrelled her some with James so thats off limits, and Tyler is started to seem like a 'chav' name around here now :/

If we have a girl her middle name will be Elaine. Its Robs mums name who passed away when he was 12 and i wish i met her so i feel its the least i could do. x

I don't get a lot of kicks now but I do get lots of movement. Midwife said it's normal because they have less room to kick out so wiggle instead. But if you're worried it can't hurt to contact the hospital if you're worried x

What Sarah said - I get less kicks now too but when I do get them they are BIG! Twisting and rolling are normal movements and I got told to count them when I count baby's movements for the day.

You still need to tell us you know! Changing the subject won't work lol ;)

Aww.. That's a lovely thought... J suggested we do that with our little girl for my Mam... But she had a horrible name.. lol
My little bundle may never actually meet my Mam but she'll know so much about her that she may as well have :)

Sarah (x2 lol) I know at your stage it'd be normal but I've still a way to go so thinking its not quite so normal... I dunno??!!

Even from your stage I was noticing less kicks and more general wriggling instead but if you're not sure definitely call the hospital - it's about what feels right to you xxx

Yea I may give them a quick call when I get home... Just to be sure.. Like, I'm getting lotz of wriggles and movements... Just not so many kicks... Am sure its all fine, but you know when you don't know?!

I'm sure it is fine but why sit worrying when you could phone them? I'd just go for it. Although it does sound very familiar, baby's pretty big now and she'll have less room to kick you ;)

Is yr nane wham?? Or 911?? Lol x

RE names:

Our boy's name was picked out 6 years ago when we got together lol Was going to be Jack Thomas G x before we found out the sex we really really struggled picking any girls names that we BOTH liked. I liked loads lol Millie, Summer, Sophia, etc but John couldn't decide. We were always going to have Rose as a middle name though.

Then out the blue we both really liked Amelia, plus I still got my "Millie" in effect as that's likely what she will be called as a nickname x Then we found out we were having a girly....so she will more than likely be Amelia Rose G :) xxx

Frances, definitely call if you are worried hun - no point worrying yourself i am sure the hospital can reassure you. I'm not getting kicks but more thuds where the little sod had stuffed itself in my pelvis and obviously has no room! The kicks/thumps i get are seriously low (like just above my pubic bone which is REALLY uncomfortable!) but i know the reason for the lack of proper kicks. I just have a monkey on board who likes my pelvis - did at 12 weeks and still does!

I'm very intrigued by your confirmation name! Give us a clue - is it a female name? :D i don't think we are going to let you change the subject until we know! ;)

Re kicks don't worry too much as long as the pattern of movement is the same (ie. same times of the day as usual and still as strong as before). As has been said they tend to run out of room so it's more wriggles and squirms as time goes on. As well, if baby's legs and knees are against your back you won't feel as many kicks!
Re your name you've got to tell us-this isn't fair! X

Ladies... Slight "winded" type pain near right rib....baby perhaps?? Xx

Oh yes. Mine started with that about a month ago and still does it, mainly when I'm driving. Mine started just after baby went head down so I figure it's a foot as when I rubbed or poked it I'd get a kick! Now I think it rams as much as it can up there because it takes my breath away some days. xxx
