Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

I didn't say - the name we will hopefully pick is Seth Rowan. But we also love the names Caleb, Anders and Ellis so we have a few on standby if he doesn't look like a Seth ;)

Oh god, I forgot about my confirmation name! Of course I don't use that... ;) Neither Colin or his brother had middle names, although his brother was bought one as a birthday present by his ex so he now has one (she paid for a stat dec so he could change his name to include a middle name!).

We'd never have done our names like that if it sounded daft, we tried it the other way round and we were both like 'not a chance!'. I was perfectly happy to be Mrs W when we got married, it was Colin who insisted on us keeping both names and him changing his. I know people who wanted to double barrel but the names just sounded wrong together lol ;)

Imagine us... Frances Teresa **** O'Reilly Lee/Frances Teresa **** Lee O'Reilly... Not gona happen.. LMAO
I'm too embarrassed to say the **** name so don't ask.. I was young and foolish... LOL

Ooh... Love Luciana... I've always said if I ever have a little girl I'd call her Lucy... After my sister Lucia... But then J spent the last 4 years saying we can't call our girl Lucy as Lucy Lee sounds like a porn star... So now he's turned me to thinking of Lucy Lee as a porn star and I can't do it to my little lady... Lucia is looking more likely but I don't love the name Lucia.. I love the name Lucy... It'd be so much easier to give the baby my surname TBH!!!

Luciana Lee? I know you don't want to shorten it but then you could still call her Lucy on the sly ;)

Is the **** your confirmation name? I won't ask then but I really want to ;) I had mine picked for me! Didn't even like the name Catherine lol ;)

Now I'm intrigued!! I don't even know what a confirmation name is but naming it after a band sounds interesting ;-)

Ha ha.. When you make your Confirmation you pick a name, no idea why... And its added in after your Baptism name and before your surname...

We weren't allowed to pick anything that wasn't a traditional catholic name. I picked Bernadette and was told I couldn't have it as another girl had picked it first so I got given Catherine!

I'm so intrigued by this now... ;)

We were allowed pick what we wanted as long as it was a Saint

That's me buggered then, I don't know any saints, let alone any that match bands lol

If it helps with the shame, at 17 I got Thumper the rabbit tattoo'd on my shoulder. I've never even seen Bambi and I hate the tattoo....

Lol! I have a chinese character that probably means 'chow mein' or something tattooed on me from when I was 18 :/ Getting it covered is on my post pregnancy to do list!

I was planning on getting it covered before the wedding but it'll have to be a decent size and probably really dark to cover it so might have to wait until we can afford it.

Is it quite faded? Might not be too hard to cover in that case. It's amazing what a good tattooist can do and inks are so much better these days so cover ups don't have to be solid black and grey like they used to be. It's all about finding a good tattooist, that's the hard bit. Am very lucky with mine, would trust him to draw owt on me!

It's like a pale blue but it hasn't faded as much as I'd have thought after 15 years!! I trust the tattooist I use too, he's done all mine, both my sisters, my step mum and he did all our piercings that we used to have. I was thinking of getting something like this down my back with the rose covering the rabbit.

Sorry for hijacking your thread with tattoo talk Frances (but at least it's diverted attention from your saintly name!!)

Oh I've done the whole tattoo regret thing too.. When I was 21.. On my shoulder too... A unicorn.. Coz it was "cute" not coz it meant anything... DOH!!
Would love to have it removed but its meant to be quite painful... The colours in it aren't too hard to shift though as there's no reds or black lines.. So it shouldn't take too many treatments...Maybe after labour i'll feel ready to take on the world and have it done then... LOL

Our little boy will be Joshua :D His middle name will either be Ajay (said the Indian way) or Raj (after his daddy)....undecided as yet :p

I've genuinely just googled Irish bands in the 80's lol xx
