Pregnancy and Slimming World

I forgot to update about yesterday! Appointment went well, they are referring me for CBT and looking at getting me a support worker as my anxiety is way over what it should be right now. They may look at medication in future but for now we're trying taking therapies.

Thanks for the good wishes all - now I'm just hoping that my scan on Tuesday shows that my little is healthy and growing. There's no reason why not though is there so I don't know why I'm so nervous! Husband can't come to the scan with me :( :( so taking my mum with instead as I don't want to be on my own in case it's bad news. Are hospitals alright with you taking people other than your partner to scans usually? Would like her to see it if everything's ok...

Hope everyone + bumps are well xxx

Yes they usually just say one adult with you -some ladies wouldn't have the baby's father in their lives so take mum, or a friend.

Glad your getting some help to bring that anxiety down & enjoy your pregnancy xo

Allimack you dont have a big bump its a lovely neat one...

Here's me at 35 weeks

I am 37 weeks now and just finished work yesterday....officially having a baby soon ;-)

Have been quiet on here recently had lots going on stress wise. Husband working all the hours as he's S/E so doesn't get Paternity so he's working extra to cover the two weeks he's going to have this time around (with Molly he had two days haha) then i am heavily pregnant, working, juggling a 3 year old and then our dog had to be put to sleep Thursday :-( and on top of this have my brother in our house homeless as we found him sleeping in my car last week (baby brain means i keep forgetting to lock it) so trying to sort him out! Utter nightmare surprised i haven't gone into early labour just from the stress of it.

They try and tend to keep baby in for as long as possible unless your diabetes is out of control or baby is big so in a way its good news that she will be here at 38 weeks instead of 37 because she isnt a big baby and your health is good x
I didnt keep out of the sun and i'm all itchy thanks to my hayfever! x

Yeah it's good news I know I'm just getting fed up which is understandable at the size I am with everything swelling up! I'm so damn broody too loads of people I know have had children recently so I just think I'm wishing time went abit quicker :) but I'm guessing they'll let me go to 38 weeks because the baby's size is perfect! My glucose levels will take time to sort out its so difficult managing them with insulin for 2 days they were great last night and this morning sky high! Anyway I'm going to get in the sun today, get sun factored up lol! I use factor 30 that once a day stuff because I can't stand re-applying and feeling all oily! :) my hayfever is at bay at the mo thank god! There's a new cream out that's advertised on the TV my midwife told me about it, it's good in pregnancy is invest if its causing you discomfort :) can't remember the name of it! Xx

That's brilliant news glad your getting some support! I took my friend in once and they were fine! As long as you only have the 1 person I don't think they mind :) cx

I'm sure u'l feel much better after the scan on Tues hun. I can't see them avin any probs wif u takin yer Mammy wif u either by the way x

Thanks for replying girls xxx Couldn't face going on my own, even though I know there's no reason why little shouldn't be fine! Silly brain :( Gonna get a picture for husband though so he can see our little again. I'm trying so hard to be positive about this.

Had proper pregnancy envy in town today - everyone seems to be pregnant right now and I want a proper bump like everyone else! I feel like a right child saying that but I'm so excited to have a bump - can't wait! I know it's different for everyone but when's an average time to start showing? Right now I can feel that I'm getting bigger (and my trousers are now fastened with an elastic band just to prove it!) but if you didn't know me you'd just think I'd had a massive dinner haha ;) I'm only 13 weeks but very impatient as you can tell! xxx

Thank you! I'm trying really hard to think positive - if I force myself to think good thoughts for long enough then hopefully I will start to feel better eventually and the happy thoughts will become natural :) xxx

I started showing at about 16 wks! :) I know what you mean about pregnancy envy I was the same all the way through till I reached about 7 months and since then I just want the baby here safe and sound!! I see babies everywhere so I know what you mean! Being pregnant is an amazing experience but I don't care what anyone says its hard not to worry throughout the whole pregnancy and then stress even more when there actually here haha! Good luck for your scan I took my mum to my 12wk scan as my oh was working away she loved it :) xx

Ooh wow, that is early! Liking the sound of that :) That's the important bit though - getting baby here safe and sound. Not long for you to wait now :) :)

It is mega stressful (I'm not sure I believe anyone who says it isn't!) but I want to enjoy it, I really do. It's a time I don't think I'll ever have again and I don't want to lose it all to feeling depressed and miserable. Plus I def don't want to end up depressed once baby's here - that's my biggest fear other than something going wrong during the pregnancy.

Mum's so excited about the scan! They didn't have them when she was having me so it's a new one for her and she can't wait to see first grandchild :) :) xxx

I didn't start showin til bout 23 or 24 wks hun but then as my pic from the other day shows I'm still not that big at 31wks, in fact I'm still pretty much wearin my usual clothes altho I do ave a hair elastic round the top button of my regular jeans n the skinny jeans r totally out by now! lol! :)

Just shows how different we all are, nowt wrong with it! That's awesome that you can still fit in your usual clothes too - think of the money saved! ;) I was looking at maternity wear today and it's so expensive! Hair elastic around buttons is the best trick ever, doing it with my jeans already. I can fasten them still but it's not very comfortable so happier with my bit of stretch ;)

My best advice is 2 chk out ebay, I got sum gr8 maternity bargains on there! U'd b amazed how many people seem 2 buy maternity clothes that they never wear! N if u don't mind "pre-loved" then there's even more bargains 2 b had! lol! I got a GORGEOUS pair of bootcut New Look jeans (which I currently wear as my "good jeans") 4 about a fiver! The girl had bought them near the start of her pregnancy but hadn't gotten round 2 wearin them b4 they got 2 small n she had 2 up-size, the same jeans were at least £20 in New Look. Also stuff like maternity leggings r ridiculously cheap on there 2 n available in much more colours than I'v seen in the shops!:)

Wow, that doesn't seem long at all!

This is gonna sound weird but I almost feel like if I start buying maternity wear that'll be somehow bad luck, even though I need it - I'm not even sure where that comes from as I'm not usually superstitious! I think I just worry that I'm being a bit previous. Maybe after Tuesday I will feel like I can and finally enjoy a bit of shopping :) x

That doesn't sound weird hun, I understand how u feel. I kno u were TTC 4 ages as well so of course yer gona b on edge n xtra cautious now that yer finally pregnant! It took me a good while 2 accept that it was actually really happenin 4 real. Altho we were lucky 2 get an early scan bout 8wks n they were able 2 let us hear the heartbeat then it was the 12wk scan that finally convinced me I was actually really pregnant! However it wasn't until prob my 20wk scan when it properly clicked that I'm actually gona b avin a BABY, when we saw it's wee face properly 4 the 1st time! Pregnancy is such a weird time cos it's filled wif excitement n worry n fear all at the same time so I reckon it's totally ok 2 go thru all of those feelins durin the course of it xx
