Rachel's Food Diary! I WILL be a slim bride!

Happy Easter Everyone :) I hope everyone's been resisting the chocolate....i haven't! haha!

So, i havent been on here for a few days because i have been so busy! It was my sisters 21st birthday on weds, her party on thursday night, i was working on Friday (which was NOT enjoyable after a very drunken night out!), at a hen party on Saturday night and i've just been to my Dad's for easter lunch. Now, i'm finally back home, in my pjs on the sofa (yes, i know its not even 4pm!)

I'm not going to bother writing down EVERYTHING i've eaten for the past few days because firstly, its very shameful, and secondly it will take too long haha! I'll just write down the worst offenders for each day so when i update after WI tomorrow, you'll all know why i've inevitably gained!

So, Wednesday - Syns were: Butter, oil, skin from the lamb, champagne, wine, lemon drizzle cake and vanilla ice cream!
Thursday - Houmous, Olives, Pitta Bread, Chips, Sangria, many many cocktails, wine. Then (worst of all, haha) a mcdonalds at the end of the night and some cold pizza when i got in! ARGH!
Friday - Bacon and Sausage sandwich (from a sandwich shop, so it was insanely greasy) and a chicken kebab from the takeaway.
Saturday - Good through the day, and stuck to vodka and diet coke all evening. Foodwise it was a 'Greek Night' so we had houmous, tzatziki, olives, pitta bread, haloumi cheese,battered fish, mousakka, meatballs. I did have pasta salad and some normal salad too!!
Sunday - Chocolate-wise i've had half a kinder egg and 1 white chocolate lindor. Not too bad. Sunday dinner was lamb, roasties, dauphinoise potatoes, parsnips, broccolli, carrots, cabbage, stuffing and gravy. I also had a slice of my Dad's girlfriends homemade lemon meringue pie. Its amazing! I couldnt resist :) Tea we're having mackerel and salad (if we even feel like eating!).

So. There you have it! Absolutely shocking amount of syns and alcohol and food but i've had an amazing couple of days. I was thinking about officially taking a week off and not bothering weighing in until next Monday because i dont want to get upset when i've probably put on something stupid like half a stone! I'm just gonna bite the bullet and do it though, and set myself a challenge next week of only 5 syns a day maximum and lots and lots of superfree and hopefully have a good loss. I dont have any plans to eat out this week and i'm not drinking at all this weekend so fingers crossed. I already knew April was going to be a difficult month to stick to SW because of the amount of eating out and occasions i dont want to miss out on.

On the plus side, i got some old clothes from my Dad's which were all too small for me and have brought them home. Some fit, some dont, but are much closer to fitting than they were before. So at least i know despite a few slip up's here and there i AM getting somewhere :)

So..anyone wanna start taking bets on how much i've gained this week?! ;)

Sounds like uve had a fab week and enjoyed all the food and drinks! Which is most important :) ur lamb looks lush and the cake looks amazing well done u and OH! Great job! And u and everyone else looks brilliant in ur pics and looks like uve ha loads a fun! Xx
 
Thanks hun! I have enjoyed it, i just hope i havent put on too much when i WI tomorrow! I can cope with a couple of lbs but anything else i'll be gutted but its definitely to be expected so cant complain too much! :) xx
 
WI today - i've put on 1lb! I know i shouldnt be happy with any gain but considering everything i've eaten this week, i am chuffed! It could have been soooo much worse!

So, i'm going to aim for lots of superfree this week, only 5 syns a day and my HE's every day too.

Food Diary for Monday -

Breakfast - Vanilla Mullar light, 30g Weetabix Mini's (HEb)

Lunch - Pasta with tomato sauce (passata, onion, garlic, paprika, chilli, mixed herbs, salt and pepper)

Tea - Sausage Casserole (3 x light choice sausages, passata, mushrooms, onion, garlic, chilli, beans, kidney beans, peppers) with jacket potato and cheese (HEa) - 3 syns


 
I don't think there's anything wrong with being chuffed with a gain if it's less than you were expecting! :D Well done, hope you get back on it this week and get a great loss next week - the gain will be gone in no time!

Maybe! Who knows!? I supposed 1lb is quite a lot to gain in a week...if i ate like that all the time i'd gain like 3.5 stone a year! Looking at it like that, 1lb a week seems about right for a binge haha! xx
 
Gonna do my food diary for tomorrow while i'm here -

Breakfast - Vanilla mullar light, weetabix mini's (heb)

Lunch - left over sausage casserole (2 syns)

Tea - Piri Piri chicken thighs (thighs with skin and bones removed!) with SW wedges, green beans and corn on the cob!

Need to go shopping to buy some fruit to boost my superfree so going to try go tomorrow or Wednesday xx
 
Syns yesterday ended up being way over 5! I did stick to my 5 (2 for light choices sausages, 2 for mayo, 1 for bbq sauce) but then OH was eating his way through his 3rd easter egg since Sunday and i couldnt resist having a bit of chocolate! So, i cracked open a small eater egg i had with mini smarties inside, ate the smarties and gave the egg to OH for his pack-up today to help me resist tucking into it today, knowing it was already open! The smarties were tiny, so i definitely didnt go over my syn allowance for the day, but definitely over 5. I also had a glass of milk for my HEa.

Food Diary for Wednesday -

Breakfast - Weetabix Mini's (HEb), toffee mullar light

Lunch - Salad (lettuce, cucumber, red onion, tomato) with chilli beef. I assume the chilli beef is free as i bought it from Tesco with the cooked meats, its definitely lean and the ingredients just say 'Beef, chilli, red pepper, salt' so i cant see why it would be syns!

Snack - Sugar Free Jelly (0.5 syns)

Tea - I'm attempting the Mushy Pea Curry tonight. So that should be syn free so i'm going to have a banana with squirty cream (1 syn) for dessert.
 
Ive had to throw out the left over cr@p from easter weeknd - it kept calling me! Now ive got catholic guilt about throwing away food - can just hear my granny now mummbling about starving children in Africa!!!
 
Tea ended up being Pork with onions and peppers in bbq sauce, with a couple of roasted new potatoes, savoury rice, mushy peas and corn on the cob! So Syns for Wednesday - 0.5 jelly, 1 syn bbq sauce, 1 syn savoury rice (half half a pack and most seem to be free but i'll count 1 just incase) and 1 syn squirty cream. 3.5 syns altogether :)

Food Diary for Thursday

Breakfast - Mullar light

Lunch - Pasta with onion and passata.

Snack - sugar free jelly (0.5 syns)

Tea - Stir Fry - Pork, Noodles, Beansprouts, Broccolli, Cabbage, Peppers, Onion, Sweetcorn with soy sauce and passata.
 
Today i've ended up having a wholemeal roll as my HEb with garlic butter (2.5 syns for 2 and a half teaspoons of lupack lighter) and i'm about to go and have strawberries, blueberries and banana with squirty cream (1 syn) for dessert. Syns for Thursday - 4

Breakfast - Vanilla Mullar Light

Lunch - 4 x ryvita (HEb), light laughing cow triangles (HEa), ham, cucumber

Snack - Sugar free jelly (0.5 syns)

Tea - Sausage Casserole (4 light choices sausages, passata, beans, mushrooms, sweetcorn, peppers) jacket potato, sugar snap peas. (4 syns)

Syns for Friday - 4.5 syns

I did find out today that French Fancies are only about 5.5 syns...someone at work offered me one but i resisted cos i'm trying to have a good week, but definitely good to know for the future! I love french fancies :)
 
We ended up having spag bol for tea tonight so it was a completely syn free meal, apart from the tiniest portion of light cheese i had on top, so i'll count 2 syns for that. So syns for Friday - 2.5 syns.


I'm going out for lunch tomorrow, but i've worked out that i've only had 28/105 syns this week (and thats if i count 15 for tuesday when i had some chocolate, and i dont think it will have been that many) so i'm not worrying too much. I'm still going to try and avoid chips and just have a sandwich on brown bread or a jacket potato, though.
Laurenporkchop and another friend are coming over for tea tomorrow night, and we're going to make SW Chicken Tikka and have it with boiled rice, so thats syn free. I'm going to attempt some sort of starter too, maybe indian spiced prawns with salad. Hopefully something relatively low syns anyway.

So, food plan for tomorrow -

Breakfast - probably none, i plan on having a lie in and i'm meeting my friend for lunch at 12!

Lunch - Sandwich on WM bread/Jacket potato with beans

Tea - Spicy prawn salad, SW chicken tikka masala, rice. We'll probably have some poppadoms too :)

Sunday, i'm working :( so i know what i'll be having...

Sunday

Breakfast - Banana

Lunch - 4 x ryvita (HEb), light laughing cow triangles (HEa), cucumber.

Snack - Sugar Free Jelly (0.5 syns)

Tea - Sausage casserole (using the sausages i was supposed to use tonight, so 3 syns for that but lots of speed foods with passata, beans, kidney beans, mushrooms, red onion)

Then Monday is weigh in day. I'm reeeeeeaaallly hoping for 2lb and that my low syn/no alcohol week will pay off and i will FINALLY reach club 10! Fingers crossed :) xxxx
