Rainbow is leaving SW again! x

.............and MILs wonder why they have such a bad reputation! You should look at it as a challenge Em, see just how much you can lose while he's away? Set yourself a target for the next two weeks and with us on her and Lindam at the weekend you'll do it xxx

his mum - whos not very tactful (and doesn't mean any harm) said that I looked better in the face, as I apparently used to look plump and had lost the (then she puffed out her cheeks) look! She followed that with - now you need to tone, else you'll be left with flabby skin on your arms and places!

i reckon it's jealousy and a touch of spite perhaps! my boyfriend mum upset him the other week saying 'karen doesn't look at you like she used to!' ...then he came home in an odd mood and when he told me i was livid!

my dad can be quite spiteful about others losing weight. i think he's around 18 stone and when my mum was on SW he kept trying to sabotage her diet - by making bolognaise made with oil and telling her it was free and buying her fish and chips from the chippy. she used to eat it all and still lose weight! lol
last week when i lost 3lbs he muttered 'you'll probably put it on next week' so when i walked in the next week with a 4lb loss he was a bit shocked to say the least!

Yeah she probably is a bit jealous I guess. We were talking about it and she asked how much I still wanted to lose and I said 'three and a half stone ideally, but I'll be much happier losing another couple' she then came out with 'hmmm, I need to lose about two stone' (I thought to myself erm nope you weigh about 17 stone, so I think you need to ideally lose more than 2 stone.)

Do you think your dads how he is because he wants to lose weight himself and is jealous you're doing it and he's not? My dad bless him has just started losing weight - he was prob bout 18 stone too, he's just eating healthily and its working for him xxx

It is sad when people can't be happy for others just because they can't or wont do it themselves

Yes it is sad - but I remember feeling pangs of jealousy when people around me were losing weight and I wasn't (yes, I know I wasn't choosing to) xx

Yeah I guess I was jealous of others before I found the right way for me. I tried so many things and nothing worked that I started to believe that I was just destined to be fat forever!

I think Ive been very lucky, Ive never tried dieting before (yes I know I should have) and then the first thing I tried was slimming world and its working so far! xxx

I never really tried anything, everything seemed to be set menus and included loads of food I didn't like and I knew that would be no good for me. I tried a detox diet, SlimFast and just cutting back but all ultimately failed. SW is the only thing that has really worked and held my interest!

Funny you should mention Slimfast as Im debating whether to try it for a couple of weeks before I go on holiday? (was hoping/wondering it may speed up my weightloss for a week or so) - anyone got any thoughts on it? xxx

Stay away from the Slimfast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only my opinion but why so slimfast? Sure you may quickly drop a few pounds, but what about real life.. you eat and then you will gain (for no more reason than its FOOD) you then feel you have failed and its a downward spiral!!! I dont like things like that as I think its a false and dangerous way to lose weight. I tried it once about 6 years ago.. made me feel like poo, headache etc.. soon went back to proper food. I think you are doing well as you are and would hate for you to mess with it all .. (like voodooing yourself) :D

Thanks - yes, I see your point about the gaining once I start eating food again, I just want a quick boost in the next two weeks to make sure my holiday clothes fit me when I go away! Prob wont get round to it anyway!

Just looked at your ticker, three more pounds and you'll be half way - well done you xxx

As always you're right! Yup I am getting into them (I tried them all on last night, and they fit, but are snug!) I'll dig out my books and go food shopping tomorrow I think! Ems to the rescue again xxx

100% yes! he annoys me sooooooo much because he used to have digs when i wasn't doing SW, but he secretly eats when mum's at work, etc. he's retired, bored, has a heart condition and was diagnosed with diabetes this year. for some reason the diabetes has made him eat more of the foods he's not allowed, such as bread, biscuits, etc. but if i suggest he has a muller light he'll tell me it has sugar in it and he's not allowed it!

i gave him money to join SW on his birthday and he bought a chinese and said he wasn't in the right mood to join. he feels like crap because he's eating crap and his joints hurt because he's overweight. i desperately want him to shift some weight because i don't want to see him in hospital AGAIN!

You can't take on someone elses weight issues if they are not in the right place.. you will only frustrate yourself.. you only need to ask Lindam about that. She knew I was unhappy with my weight but I had to reach that rock bottom, smack in the chops moment (which happened when we were holidaying together in wales) Since then she has helped me so much.. but it is down to me to stick with it. I have friends that have been dismissive of my loss, or I have hidden how well I have done so as not to upset them, but I'm not doing that anymore.. B****r that.. I'm gonna blow my trumpet loud and proud.. A lady at work has been doing SW on and off but more off than on and today at work I showed off the label in my jeans (size 14 you know!!) and I knew she was secretly slightly jealous, but then she could be in the same size if she stuck to plan so why should I feel bad?
I have found that weight loss can be a lonely journey which is why I am so grateful to have you guys xx

Both very honest and poignant posts x

Stay away from the Slimfast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree with you emski.

why don't you plan a weeks menu on success express to include all the foods you like. you'll probably find it very easy as you eat stir fry, etc.

aparently some people can lose around 5lbs a week on it.

i've done it for 3 days and had a 3lb loss before, so if you want to shift it for your hols, try and do success express for a few weeks. you'll be glad you did by the time your holidays are here. ;)
