Hi rosebug, sorry i haven't been around. You are always so good looking after us and saying the important things ((hugs))

You're doing amazingly, the end is in sight and i know you will do this :D
Have a lovely evening
Xxx

You are all so sweet xx what would I do without this forum? (probably eat lots of chocs).

Does anyone know a good low carb throat soother/sinus clearer? I'm singing on Sunday and of course have a slight cold. I usually use honey and lemon in hot water.

Well I didnt get my pork chop today as I collapsed asleep when I got in and it is now 2am. So I guess that's breakfast.

Food today:

Mcdonalds quarter pounder (no bun) and hamburger (no bun)
8g carbs (some ketchup left on)

Marks and spencer's prawns and cocktail dipping sauce
1g carbs

Tea
3g carbs

Dietimeal choc shake
1.5g carbs

Total: 13.5g carbs

Also had a sprite zero and coke zero today. I have one now and then - a bit of an on the run day for me.

Morning Rose love

How's the throat feeling now? I've got a sniffle too but it's probably a result of all the carbs I've been shovelling down!

You are doing really, really well - very rpoud of you :)

Oh hello there TOTM. You thought you'd pop round the day before WI and day before i have to sing and dance? well why not, come and join me.

Urgh. *pops painkillers*

Cold is still there, too. I suppose I might try peppermint tea?

Hoik a few menthol crystals into boiling water and steam yourself (towel over the bowl) - great for sinus congestion Rose. Halls Mentholyptus throat lozenges come in a sugar-free guise although I know you don't like polyols, but the cherry flavour ones are yum and very soothing too. Hope your throat gets better before you have to sing tomorrow. :)

And I thought you were calling Susie 'TOTM'! Had to read your post about five times before it clicked!

hahaha no I wouldnt dream of calling the lovely Susie by such a terrible slur. It has just shown up at the WORST time. The weird thing is I've been having terible stomach cramps for 3 days, plus the usual dizziness and weakness I get with my period - I have low blood pressure which it seems to exacerbate and it always makes my anaemia worse. Odd to get the symptom so long before the cause, I mean my first day with stomach cramps was weds.

I don't think I have any menthol crystals. Are they from the chemists? Might dissolve an ordinary cough sweet in hot water and inhale that....

Any pharmacy will sell them to you Rose, they only cost a pound or two - deffo a good one for the medicine cupboard for future. Watch them though, you only need a few, they're very strong - lovely though. :)

Or Friar's Balsam is a liquid menthol and eucalyptus mixture I used to use, also inhaled in steam. I sing a bit too. :)

Yes just a bit late to pop out now, though maybe mid afternoon before the evening session if I need it. My song is all belt voice - the musical equivalent of shouting - so I'm trying not to rehearse too much and feeling rather unprepared because of it.

Oh dear. Fingers crossed things are better tomorrow R.

Thank you. and thanks for all the tips, I'm noting them down for future reference. I've never really done the inhaley thing before, but must be better than cough sweets.

Hi Rosebug, what a pain about your throat - pretty typical isnt it.

Only other idea i have is to gargle with either hot salty water or vinegar (we have apple cider vinegar that would be perfect)
HTH

I had thought about gargling, but it's less a sore throat, more a runny nose and congestion. We'll just see how it goes. sometimes colds add an interesting quality :)

Hiya Rose, hope the cold does not interfere too much with the voice - and boo to TOTM - horrid thing but typical timing - I am due ready for next weekend of course......................

Awake now with tummy cramps. Owoeiwow. I didn't up my ferrous fumerate dose early enough so low iron has me feeling all weak and shaky. Will fight on through the day.

Food is being an effort, too.

Food Today:

Pork chop
0g

2 squares G&B

2 egg 1oz cheddar omelette
2g

1/4 courgette, Parma ham, cream mint garlic and Parmesan sauce.
4g

Tea
2g

TOTAL: 10g

Weighed in this morning...

12 stone 13lbs.

That's a 5lb loss AND I AM NO LONGER IN THE 13'S.

It's not reaaaally as big a loss as it sounds - when I weighed last sunday a couple of hours after my recorded weigh in (basically after a nap) I was 13st 2lbs not 4lbs. So it's more like a 4lbs loss last week and 3 this week. I didn't update anything then because I'd already dipped to 13.2 twice that week and gone back up, but it seems like it decided to keep going the right way.

So, yay. I'm not expecting much of a loss this next week, what with TOTM and my planned 10g carbs worth of dietimeal low carb pancakes on tuesday (unless they taste 'orrible) so it's nice to have a really decent one this week.

Will be NICER when my pound reading is in the 170's :)

Hello, my name is Rose and I weigh less than 13 stone.
