Ruby's Starting Over (Again!)

Ooh the food sounds delish I'm so excited about Christmas food! Aw I've never been but my OH went on a stag and absolutely loved it xxxx

Morning everyone. Had another long and stressful day at work yesterday but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm determined to leave on time today so I can get home at a decent time! Got my appointment through for the physio next week so hopefully he'll be able to give me some exercises to help out the wrist situation. Ended up eating like 20 syns last night in hot dogs and weetabix oaty bars but hopefully it won't make too much of an impact if I'm good the rest of the week.

26th November - Extra Easy

Breakfast - Porridge (HEB), strawbs, bloobs, honey (1 syn)

Dinner - Cod fillet, SW chips, mushy peas and roasted peppers

I wasn't too sure about adding the peppers in but I needed to use them up and it was surprisingly lovely. Will be adding roasted peppers to more things!

Morning everyone. Feeling particularly tired today despite sleeping right through the night for once! Think I need to up the vitamin d tablets and calcium as I've not seen actual day light all week! Going to see a play with some friends tonight so we're meeting at Yo Sushi for dinner. Going to stick to edamame, green tea, sashimi and maybe some miso soup if I can fit it in! Could do without being so tired because it's going to be a late night but hey ho, lots of black coffee shall keep me just about functioning.

Last night was a lot of fun despite me being dead on my feet. I wasn't the only one though so that made me feel a bit better! Yo Sushi was great - 2 bowls of miso, salmon and tuna sashimi and one of the seaweed roll things. Minimal syns for that lot so it's all good. Play was hilariously bad; they kept randomly turning a smoke machine on for no reason whatsoever, lots of interesting noises were made and there was a really over the top death scene. Oh and they added 3 new characters to the story for no reason whatsoever. Still, we had fun.

Happy Friday! Have woken up feeling not very well this morning (sore throat, sneezing, headache, aching, you know the drill) so just going to try and power through and leave early today. The thought of food is actually making me feel a bit sick so may try and have a fast day (everyone else seems to be doing it). Have a banana with me and I can always pop to the canteen if I fancy anything later. Apart from that I'm planning on having Sweet and sour chicken tonight but we shall see how I feel. Supposed to be going to see Mockingjay part 1 tonight with OH but again, will see how I feel.

Tomorrow we're meeting with another florist (one who I hope will understand the 'look' I'm going for with the wedding) and then it's off to London in the evening to see the band we booked for the wedding. Just hoping they're as good in real life as they are online. Hoping that I can stave off whatever bug this is with lemsip and water till then!

Boo to the bug! Hope it goes away for your nice weekend ahead, cinema and a band sound nice :) hope they're good! X

Thanks, just had a sneezing fit so it's dfeinitely going to get worse before it gets better. I'm hoping they're good as well since we've already paid the deposit!

Morning everyone. Have woken up this morning with a full blown cold; headache, sneezing, blocked nose, sore throat, fuzzy head etc. Have come into work because I have so much to do but we'll see how long I can last.

Had an interesting weekend - Friday afternoon I got a call from the hospital offering me an appointment for my wrist on Wednesday afternoon, then I got a call inviting me to an interview on Wednesday morning. Saturday we went to hobbycraft to pick up supplies for the wedding invitations and will be printing the save the dates next weekend. Met with a florist who I really loved - she totally got the very vague concept I had in mind so just hoping the price matches our budget. Then went to Richmond to see the band and they were fantastic! The friend's that came with us agreed and were impressed with our choice. Bumped into a girl I went to secondary school with and it turns out the drummer is her boyfriend! Was a very strange experience. Had one too many gin and tonics and had a very lazy day yesterday recovering (including eating 2 massive sausage rolls).

Not really feeling the idea of food today. Have brought some lunch with me but probably not going to eat it. Have a chilli bubbling away in the slow cooker so might just tuck into that when I get home. Hope you all had a good weekend!

Oh no you have the dreaded lurgy too :-( Hope it passes quickly, the morrisons cold and flu tablets are good for congestion x
Love hearing your wedding plans, its so exciting! What route are you going down with invites? Fingers crossed for your florist- they can be quite reasonable when its individuals. Good to hear the band were good too, what a small world x

Thanks, I have a huge supply of lemsip with me and ginger and lemon tea. We paid someone on etsy to design us some invites with an autumnal watercolour tree on them and we just have to print them now. Kept it simply with an invite, a save the date and an card with accommodation and taxi info, directions and RSVP requirements. Got our invitation to OH's sister's wedding last week and there seemed to be a million bits of card in the envelope! What have you done for yours? I'm hoping she gets it right otherwise I don't knwo what I'm going to do. We already had a quote from one florist but they didn't get the look I wanted - I want rustic, a bit messy, quite natural and this looked like you could have bought it from M&S. It was quite strange because I've met Nathan a few times before but just didn't recognise him with a beard! Have you managed to find any shoes yet for your wedding?

Ah I must go an get lemsip :-( I'm on halls soothers at the moment and its just occurred to me I ought to syn them?!!
Oh your invites sound lovely! I know what you mean about all the cards though. I had one piece of card in it with RSVP & menu choices on for guests to return, then stuck the details of transport etc to the inside of the invite to minimise it. They're brown (recycled) card with a white tree on the front with some green leaves, a pattern across the bottom then i printed details inside on a background of a little bird sat in a tree.
No luck on the shoe front yet but to be fair I haven't looked properly! Need to hit new look (my fav for shoes).
Love the sound of your flowers! Definitely don't want an m&s look lol. I need to figure out what I want :-/ what kind of flowers are you having? X

I wouldn't bother synning them, it's medicinal, not food. Where did you get the recycled card from? The stuff I saw on aturday seemed really dark and OH would prefer brownish card so he says. They sound really pretty and practical. Hers had like the invitation, an rsvp card, a card asking for song choices, a card asking for money rather than gifts and a map to the venue (that actually doesn't show you where the venue is). We're going for traditional autumnal colours with a punch of bright yellow and orange against a darker red / plum colour. I love tulips so she's going to throw some of those in with roses and calla lilys and lots of foliage because we're going for natural and rustic or "bringing the outside in" and quite literally with one of her ideas! Lots of candles everywhere and it will be perfect. I would advise you to check out that pinning website (it won't let me post the name) for ideas, there is everything you could possibly want there ideas wise!

Well it's lunch time and I've still yet to eat something. Only 2 and a bit hours till I'm heading home so will just fast till it's chilli time I think. Time for another lempsip though.

Eek so glad the band were good! And small world with your friend's boyf being in it!

I love wedding invites - both of your ladies' sound gorgeous!

xxxx

The most stressful part of the planning so far was picking the invitations! Have you seen any you'd like to have?
