Sandra's maintenance diary.....

When did you last work and what did you do? Am I being silly not wanting people to know that I suffered burn-out and have had loads of operations in recent years? X

Nothing exciting - just PA/Office Management.

It's been 5 years this time round and I'm told I won't work again... I had just made it back to work full time a few years previously after building up from part-time! After Con was born (he's 14 now) my pelvic condition made it very difficult to work but i was so determined to keep trying! I went back part time when he was two and a half then gradually built it up from there. But the accident I had at work 5 years ago exacerbated things to the point I had no choice but stop!

And no, I don't think ur silly wanting to keep it quiet, until u decide to share!! It's highly personal and you've obviously already dealt with 'explaining' the career break at interview stage!

Besides it's not all strictly burn-out, is it!! You had medical ops too (ie hysterectomy and hip) and also the ops on ur legs after the fall were hardly due to burnout! Not that u should be ashamed or feel the need to keep any of it secret; that cud be mentally damaging/draining for you. But as for when and who and how much u choose to disclose, that's entirely your call!

Besides they are lucky getting u after all that drama! After all you are a new you, new sexy fit body, new strengthened by pins etc legs, new hip, no ailing internal organs or TOTM probs; and a fresh rejuvenated realigned and sorted-out, cleared of demons and rested mind!!! Lol.

Let's face it, uve had ur share of 'sick time' so you're a much better bet than someone who hasn't and may therefore be heading for a physical or mental crash! Also I'm sure your recent experiences have made u a better and more experienced and empathic person all round! Result every which way I say ... Lol

Phew ... need a fag now lol x

Ahhhh thx sweetheart, that was a lovely post, I feel much better now!

I'm so sorry that you're never going to be sorted.....it's bad enough when you live from day to day in pain but knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel, I really feel for you x x x

Life can be a ***** can't it.......

Yeah but no but ....! Lol

It's okay! Im okay! You just have to accept it as being part of you ... Yeah I have times when i struggle with staying positive - but that cud be said for everyone and is just part of life. Everyone has problems and they are all relative... at least I know what I'm dealing with!

Acceptance is the key; fighting against it proves no purpose and makes everything worse! Sounds totally kooky, but i try to embrace it and believe that in time; if it makes me a better person, then the silver lining will outweigh the cloud ...

OMG stop V ... blathering away on my soapbox there pmsl!

Ps. I'm serious tho - I always try to spin a situation to find and focus on the positives! I'd go nutty otherwise (or even more nutty ...lol) x

Pps. I'm not giving up hope either ... future medical science progressions and all that!

You can be quite wise sometimes, mad but wise! X

Scales doing their usual Monday thing...... Had friends round for dinner on Saturday and drank ourselves silly, ate too much and they bought me the most enormous box of Thorntons chocs that I've ever seen......did the sensible thing and left them there!

Today's food......

L Exante bar
Snack pack of salami and something else? must look at the packet!
D large mixed salad, lemon and pepper king prawns, Count on us choc mousse
Hot choc later

Total 997 calories. Net 477 after exercise

Bit low today but need to make up for not counting at all over the weekend, had at least 2 bottles of wine on Saturday night and feel really fat today.....trying to keep the carbs to a minimum for a few days, amazing how few calories you can eat when you take the little ******* out of the equation!

haha I demolished 2 bottles last night - good 1,400 cals for 2 bottles but oddly i always feel really light the next day untill i get my munch on! :giggle:

Thats some willpower not having any chocs and leaving them there!!!

Sorry to hear about the poor Fisherman, thats tragic, so sad too.

Bet you are all excited about the job now Sandra, I know I would be. Hope the preps are going well with all the gear etc.

It certainly is, the poor man was only 42 and had 4 kids.......we are always so careful at sea but it was really foggy and obviously the ferry's radar didn't pick up the fishing boat. It was split clean in two by the ferry's hull......

I am excited and scared too! My new boss rang me yesterday for a chat and to tell me that he had sent out a memo to all the new staff and was going to copy me in......basically I take immediate responsibility for about 20 people and several hundred clients - so no pressure there then:eek: sure I'll be fine once I've settled in.....

Have put together a few things for work but that was based on it being nicer weather! It's miserable as hell here today and the temperature has dropped so much that we put the electric blanket on last night!

Exactly the same here today Sandra, it was foggy when I left home this morning and the winds on the Motorway were horrendous. Hello Winter!

Oh heavens that's awful about the poor fisherman! Prayers going out to his family!

So you're starting the job soon then Sandra:D - now forgive me for having a poo memory but which one was this? The one with the royals or the one with the hunky interviewer ;)? Where are you going to be working? Will you have to be a way from home?

I'm sorry if I've missed these points in trying to catch up and I'm sorry if I'm being too nosey - just tell me to mind my own business! ;) xx

The fisherman? What an earth happend?! Doesnt sound good ...
