Scotsmists Take on Life!!!!!! And everything else :-)

My Sister reckons I have OCD........lol. I have four big windows at the front, and every blind needs to be at exactly at the same height and opened the same amount haha.

Oh well, at least the windows look nice lol.

Loving the sound of your job Iris, sounds like you have found a little treasure there.

Your job does sound like a beaut Iris!! :)
Hope you are enjoying your day in the sun xx

I enjoyed my day Tanya.....yesterday and today, but more about that later :)

Day 13
Well, we did go to the Turkish restaurant and it was really lovely, although I had a few things I didnt expect to have, but I feel I did really well to be honest!

Starters
Turkish olives/pitta bread
Cicik (cucumber/garlic yoghurt and mint)
Falafel
(I think these had been fried, which now, on reflection, wish I had asked him to dry fry them as he would have!
OH, had half the cicik and he had the pastries

Main
Well, I had a mixed grill, which is not something I usually have, but with it all being grilled, thought it would be best.
2 x small chicken fillets (just had one)
1 x lamb chop (eat one bite and OH had rest)
1 x lamb korfte (ate most, left a mouthful)
basmati rice, which I had a few spoonfuls of and salad with no oil

SO, NOT BAD - EH!!! I think the thing I shouldnt have had were the olives, but I think in the scheme of things I did well and I didnt get stressed, etc..like I usually do!

So, Day 14 - last day of Phase 1 - 1200 cals

BREKKIE
porage again, but with 10 raisins

POWER SNACK
banana

LUNCH
I had my egg salad, BUT, had asparagus from my allotment!! FIRST OF THE YEAR...Oh, it was gorgeous :) The salad filled me up and I didnt have anything else...so, reckon was down on my cals but I just felt satisfied

DINNER
Not good! We got home around 9pm and I didnt want to eat too much, so I had a portion of my chicken/lemon/mushroom soup which was only about 140 cals and a pitta bread and 2 x kiwis......

So, that is it for today! So, wonder what tomorrow will bring....I dont feel that I have lost much more to be honest, but I dont feel worried about it. I am just so pleased that I seem to have settled down into a healthy eating routine and well, maybe beginning to think the weight I am is irrelevant..so long as I feel happy and confident! So, will let you all know tomorrow what the scales say.

I am shattered..we have been out in the allotment (for the 2nd day) from early morning, straight through! Been doing a lot of heavy work, and well I just feel POOPED! Got burnt, which is stupid of me and I am really annoyed with this, so doubt I will go out for long tomorrow. In pain but just had a bath, then a shower and OH put aftersun on me, so it isnt so bad now! I have such white Scottish skin that I never tan and burn badly! Not good! I got caught talking to a lady in the allotment and I think that is where I got caught, as OH is always telling me to go and sit under the big oak tree as I have been out for too long..I did do that today, but then got talking to this lady and it was in FULL SUN! doh!!!!

So, see what tomorrow brings!!! Have a few plants that need to go in but not sure whether I should just stay in the shade and stay at the allotment at the house, rather than the one that is a mile or so away!!

So, my 14 days is done and dusted and I would recommend this diet to anyone! I now have an extra 200 cals.....100 cals can be a high fat (more than the 5% fat rule)! But not sure whether I am ready to go down that route yet....see what I feel, but at least I can relax a little!

Sorry, a novel again!!!

Of course I do :8855:

:8855::8855: how did I guess!!!!!!!

Many years ago I used to be like that,,,but now!! haha...dont have the time as I am out always so the house isnt as "proud" as it used to be !!haha..ah, well...now I know who to call upon now !!!

Congratulations Iris on getting through the 14 days. Do you know Iris, this is the most relaxed regarding food that I have ever seen you, since I started talking to you last year on Minis. You have definitely crossed a hurdle in my eyes, and its great to see.

I am sure the few olives wouldnt have done any harm at all, as you did cut down the next day, so I would think it would compensate.

Cant you just wear something with long sleeves and light cotton tomorrow if you want to go to the allotment, and a floppy hat?

Oooh asparagus is my favourite vegetable, and to have it straight from the garden is even better - I bet you really enjoyed that.

Pleased that last night was a success for you Iris.

I wouldnt say I was one of these over posessed women that are really houseproud, but seeing as I have 4 days off from work, I usually spend one day cleaning from top to bottom, and then the room where the cushions are is only used occassionally, as I am usually found to be slumming it in the back room, which is a little annex off the kitchen.

Other than that, I am a lazy b***h. You know how much I HATE exercise :8855:

I AGREE TOO MARY!! This is how I used to eat....I obviously always had the ED but it wasnt like it has been since LT (to be honest)..it got worse and worse and worse as my head got so screwed up with carbs and losing so much weight so quickly! Now, I feel I have somehow found what I lost. Not saying I am there, I know that, BUT I do feel relaxed around food more than I have done for a very long time.

I know I am not where I would like to be re my body BUT I am happy with what I see and I am sure the fat will disappear in its own good time, as I continue eating healthily.

The next big step I suppose is the next 2 weeks where I am allowed some treats..I wasnt going to have them, but some people have messaged me from RC forum and said to have my allowance.....I need to stick to the diet 100% so I this might be a good, controlled way to eat, say mm..what...can I have...a dessert...too frightened to say a choc bar!! haha..not sure if I can go there!

But, thanks Mary..that really is so encouraging that you can see a difference...I know I wear my heart on my sleeve and you have seen me through good and bad times I suppose the past year!

:8855::8855: oh, you did make me laugh......you know Mary, if I had chance I would be lazy, but I dont have time!! hahaha......

It must be nice though being able to take that day out every week to clean! I love when I have bottomed out the house...I feel so nice and the house just looks lovely! The house is never that bad anyway with just the two of us.

So, you slum it most of the time, and then when someone comes to see you, you use the "good room"..ahaha......:8855:

That comes across now with your attitude to food.

Rome wasn't built in a day chick.

Well have your treats if that is what is recommended, but just steer clear of the chocolate until YOU feel relaxed and controlled enough to have it.

But, thanks Mary..that really is so encouraging that you can see a difference...I know I wear my heart on my sleeve and you have seen me through good and bad times I suppose the past year!

Hyacinth comes to mind :8855:
We went to a caravan in Salou about 13 years ago, and on the little patio out the front, about 6 feet wide by 8 feet long, there were a few ants. I was out every morning with hot water and domestos scrubbing this little patch. Well everyone called my Hyacinth and started buying me little potted plants for my verandah :8855:

She is out on that allotment, picking some more Asparagus for tea I bet ;-)

Hi girlies.....phew what a day!! Only JUST sitting down now, and it is just after 11pm!! Where does the time go....

Well, Day 15 !
All in all not bad, but could have been better to be honest...I will explain.

BREKKIE
2 quorn sausages
baked beans
2 mushrooms

LUNCH
Well, I got out the sweet potato and fishcakes for lunch.....but firstly had to go into the allotment at home around 9am to do all the watering AND before the sun got too strong! As I was watering, my lovely neighbour along the road with her two little girls came skipping down to see me...bless...they love to come in and chat and water and weed and do all sorts for me! So, they were having a BBQ and well, not sure whether we invited ourselves, or the girls asked my OH if we would come!

Anyhow, OH went to see the farmer about the bees, so he went off cycling and I went shopping with my neighbour ! So, then got back at lunch time,,NO LUNCH!! As I was preparing loads of Turkish salads...went to their house at 3pm and had a lovely BBQ

This is what I have had!

1 x sausage kebab (made with 1 low fat sausage)
1 x lamb kebab
half venison burger

Salads
shepherds salad, a little oil in this
potato salad (all ok)
Turkish salad (olives and haloumi cheese in this and oil)!!!!
cicik - turkish yoghurt salad, all ok!!

tiny bowl of Eton mess (made with WW yoghurt, strawberries and merigue) - reckon ok as I had literally 2 TBSP.
Then, small piece of cherry tart and WW cream!!!!

Considering this was 2 meals in one, I dont think it was over my allowance AND allowed 200 cals extra plus allowed 100 cals that is more than 5% fat!! So, think ok.

THEN, we had to go to the other allotment as I bought 7 artichokes yesterday, so needed to get these planted and do a few bits and pieces..we were there till around 10pm!!!!! so, did a lot of digging and watering, which means a lot of walking to and from the barrel to the beds!!!!

Now, when I got home, I had a bit of the munchies! Have had a small bowl of yoghurt raisins (not sure they are that good for me)

A few bits of haloumi cheese...threw the rest in bin as I was tempted to eat it! And a little bit of olive bread!!

STOPPED THERE! I really dont class it as a binge and dont feel it is a binge,,so I am very very happy with this. I dont feel stressed whatsoever.

OH FORGOT TO SAY, I LOST 2 LBS OVERALL THIS WEEK...TOTAL LOSS IN 2 WEEKS - 8LBS!!

Not sure if I will make the stone in a month, but you know I dont care! I am so enjoying eating healthily that I really dont care..it is so liberating, cant explain it.

My friend who we had the BBQ with today has lost 1 st on WW and her hubby has lost 2 st. She wears a pedometer, which is a good one, so she is buying me one on Tuesday so I can record my steps and she showed me her WW cookbook which is wonderful and I would probably use all the recipes, so buying that too!

I have had an absolutely fab weekend....I just wish I didnt need to go to work tomorrow as I could quite happily just do more in the allotment..my sunburn though is sore :(

OH is off to see a guy near where we live who makes hives with cedarwood...the hives look really lovely, so hopefully we will put an order in for that and have the hives in time for the bees in a month.

Sorry, guys..waffling again, but just wanted to share with ya!!!!

Hope you have had a lovely weekend..I know Mary you have been working, but not sure about the others!

Oh, I will cut back a little bit tomorrow to try and just make up a little for the extra I may have consumed today.

At coreball tomorrow and then an hour in the gym, so hopefully will burn it off!!!!!!

Well done on stopping eating after your 'binge' (i wouldnt even call it that!!!) Iris :) Shows how far you have come.

I love your posts, don't stop waffling!!! :D

I think your day has been fab! Considering how many calories you will have burnt off doing all that gardening!!!

Although haloumi cheese, i have to say, is rank! lol xxx
