Scotsmists Take on Life!!!!!! And everything else :-)

HAHAHA......You are probably right Mary!!! We say, we are living the good life, but I tell you it is HARD work!!!!!!!!

I quite believe it. We used to have a huge garden in our last house, and we had 2 greenhouses. We grew everything, not that I did much in the garden, but Phill would be out there every day. The end produce was so fantastic and made all the hard work worthwhile.

Hi girlies.....phew what a day!! Only JUST sitting down now, and it is just after 11pm!! Where does the time go....

Well, Day 15 !
All in all not bad, but could have been better to be honest...I will explain.

BREKKIE
2 quorn sausages

LUNCH
Well, I got out the sweet potato and fishcakes for lunch.....but firstly had to go into the allotment at home around 9am to do all the watering AND before the sun got too strong! As I was watering, my lovely neighbour along the road with her two little girls came skipping down to see me...bless...they love to come in and chat and water and weed and do all sorts for me! So, they were having a BBQ and well, not sure whether we invited ourselves, or the girls asked my OH if we would come!

Anyhow, OH went to see the farmer about the bees, so he went off cycling and I went shopping with my neighbour ! So, then got back at lunch time,,NO LUNCH!! As I was preparing loads of Turkish salads...went to their house at 3pm and had a lovely BBQ

This is what I have had!

1 x sausage kebab (made with 1 low fat sausage)
1 x lamb kebab
half venison burger

Salads
shepherds salad, a little oil in this
potato salad (all ok)
Turkish salad (olives and haloumi cheese in this and oil)!!!!
cicik - turkish yoghurt salad, all ok!!

tiny bowl of Eton mess (made with WW yoghurt, strawberries and merigue) - reckon ok as I had literally 2 TBSP.
Then, small piece of cherry tart and WW cream!!!!

Considering this was 2 meals in one, I dont think it was over my allowance AND allowed 200 cals extra plus allowed 100 cals that is more than 5% fat!! So, think ok.

THEN, we had to go to the other allotment as I bought 7 artichokes yesterday, so needed to get these planted and do a few bits and pieces..we were there till around 10pm!!!!! so, did a lot of digging and watering, which means a lot of walking to and from the barrel to the beds!!!!

Now, when I got home, I had a bit of the munchies! Have had a small bowl of yoghurt raisins (not sure they are that good for me)

A few bits of haloumi cheese...threw the rest in bin as I was tempted to eat it! And a little bit of olive bread!!

STOPPED THERE! I really dont class it as a binge and dont feel it is a binge,,so I am very very happy with this. I dont feel stressed whatsoever.

OH FORGOT TO SAY, I LOST 2 LBS OVERALL THIS WEEK...TOTAL LOSS IN 2 WEEKS - 8LBS!!

Not sure if I will make the stone in a month, but you know I dont care! I am so enjoying eating healthily that I really dont care..it is so liberating, cant explain it.

My friend who we had the BBQ with today has lost 1 st on WW and her hubby has lost 2 st. She wears a pedometer, which is a good one, so she is buying me one on Tuesday so I can record my steps and she showed me her WW cookbook which is wonderful and I would probably use all the recipes, so buying that too!

I have had an absolutely fab weekend....I just wish I didnt need to go to work tomorrow as I could quite happily just do more in the allotment..my sunburn though is sore :(

OH is off to see a guy near where we live who makes hives with cedarwood...the hives look really lovely, so hopefully we will put an order in for that and have the hives in time for the bees in a month.

Sorry, guys..waffling again, but just wanted to share with ya!!!!

Hope you have had a lovely weekend..I know Mary you have been working, but not sure about the others!

Oh, I will cut back a little bit tomorrow to try and just make up a little for the extra I may have consumed today.

At coreball tomorrow and then an hour in the gym, so hopefully will burn it off!!!!!!

Well Iris, I am exhausted for you. What a hectic day you have had, but look at the satisfaction you have gained.

I dont see that your food was that bad today at all, obviously I am not familiar with the diet, but hey, one day if you are a little bit over, I cant see any harm, and as long as you feel relaxed and happy with it yourself, then all the better.

Well done on binning the rest of the cheese, thats a major milestone, because previously, you would probably have eaten it and then felt terrible for having done so.

Well done on your loss of 2lb, making 8lb in two weeks, thats MAGNIFICENT.

If you dont make the stone in the month - so be it, there is always next month, at least the scales are going down and not up.

My day has been good even though working, I managed to get a few rays in the garden this afternoon, but I AM looking forward to a few more rays tomorrow and a couple of vodka's :8855:

Iris, you will have done so much back breaking work in the allotment over the weekend that you will easily have undone any damage you think you did with food. Well done on your 2lb loss this week too. The advice about sticking to the plan a 100% is good because I am sure the nutrition and combinations of food are meant to keep your blood sugars level throughout the day. I know on my GL diet, everything I have read keeps saying the same thing about maintaining a balance throughout the day thus avoiding energy slumps and munchy attacks.
It was a glorious weekend to be out in the garden. I visited friends today who wanted to move a compost heap from one end to the other. I offered to help and ended up spending a few hours shovelling lovley rich compost into the barrow and ferrying it round the garden. Hard work but we had lots of fun. lots of luck for the coming week.
 
Thanks Irish Molly..yes I will keep having my Power Snacks,etc..no point cutting back to then feel I want to go and eat something naughty...no point!

Oh, I love shovelling Sh*t hahah.......I always think of the calories but the stuff is amazing too!!

Glad you had fun! It is always fun getting back to nature!

Ooooh my, I am SOOOOOOO happy for you Iris, I actually have a tear in my eye as I type this.

Well done on your losses so far Iris - I think I might have a look into this RC lark. My diet has well and truly gone up the wall and am eating nearly everything in sight right now, but then I am under a lot stress with a seriously ill family member, worries over job security and concerns about best friends moving away etc...... Diet and controlling of food is one of the last things on my mind currently. However seeing your success and as you say after LT it should be a walk in the park on around 1200 calories - it should be a breeze to do. I think a trip to Amazon is on the cards today :D

Still in shock - just have to take it one day at a time! He hasnt replied back to my second email, but this is where I just learn to relax...his wife is probably the next big hurdle as she is quite hard...but, will cross that bridge when I come to it :) For now, I am happy!

Yes, you are right and I left it too long..in fact, it was longer than I realised....as he didnt come to my 40th, and I celebrated my 44th birthday in Feb!...so coming up for 5 yrs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All under the bridge and hopefully onto good things now.

Still on course and still really enjoying what I am eating. I am not doing so well on the exercises though from the book as I just dont seem to have much time, so I reckon this is affecting the weight loss, but to be honest, I am happy with what I am losing, so not worrying too much.

My friend is doing WW and she went to class today and has bought me a pedometer, so am aiming for 10,000 steps a day, so this is my new goal! She has also bought me the new WW cookbook. I had a look at it on Sunday and it is absolutely brilliant! (will bring t his when I see you Jan next week)!!! Although doubt we will look at it.

There was a recipe for onion bhajis and really low cal/fat and so many points (cant remember), so I bought so gram flour today (chickpea) and will attempt them at the weekend and will make an Indian meal! Oh, the ideas are endless!!!!

Guys, seriously, I am starting to think like a normal person! I cant remember the last time I felt and thought like this..it is quite bazarre to be honest! I am not even thinking when will my binge be next! Cause I dont want to have one??????

I had a bit of a horrible night last night,,wont go into it, but normally I would just lash out and eat...but it didnt EVEN enter my head at all! WAW!!

Just make sure guys I dont get cocky....I have said before,,,never ever ever want to be cocky and fall flat on my face, but I cant seem to stop the excitement :)

Anyway, going to close as I am mad busy at work but I WANTED to let you know I am ok and still going strong :)!!!!

Iris, my friend in work had that WW cookbook, and I photo-copied a load of recipes, they are all stunning looking dishes.

Glad you managed okay with your bad time and didnt look for food - that is definitely a great feeling.

Hey Iris .... You seem to be doing great girl!!!! I have to confess I haven't read through word for word because there's just soooo many posts in a week!!! But I've skimmed through and you seem to be really enjoying what you're doing and to have found your way forward - I'm really pleased for you :):).

Incidentally - normally I have no problem streeeeeeeeetching the law when it comes to bringing stuff back from abroad but WHAT a good job I didn't risk it!!! Thanks to Tunc!!
For some reason (still don't know what) we were stopped going into Dalaman airport, had to open one of our cases and it was searched. Don't know what they thought they'd seen on the scanner but whatever it was they seemed most p'd off that there was nothing to see in the case. They scanned John's passport - fine - except that when we then tried to buy some fags for my mum in the duty free shop - I said to use his passport as he was putting them on his credit card and they said he'd already had his duty free allowance - when we hadn't bought anything! It went on mine okay but was really strange and I'm one of those people who feels guilty when ayone in authority even looks at me so I blush and stammer and get all flustered which must look really incriminating anyway!!! LOL!!! xx
