Yes I think we do Emsie lol. I went through a budgeting phase but I could't be bothered in the end, it was more like a hobby, bargain shopping. My husband and I love food, nice food and I LOVE cooking. He would go as far as sourcing all kinds of obscure gourmet ingredients from all over the world to make each meal a "gastronomic orgasm" (his words!). I'm a more practical cook but my main concern is quality and variety. It makes SW a real pleasure as I don't feel deprived at all. In fact I cook much nicer food when I'm on plan than when I'm not! I have a big freezer so I can bulk buy and nothing ever gets wasted, we eat everything believe it or not lol!

Ellebear, I want to see pics of your deliveries!!

Another Costco fan here......not only their food but everything else they sell there too.
We have one a few minutes drive away from us so we tend to use it just like another local supermarket which is why we spend a small fortune there because we always come away with some other random purchase also aside from the food that we went there for!!!
We have garden water features from there along with electrical items, garden tools, clothes...the list goes on and the great thing is, if anything breaks, you just take it back, no questions asked. You don't need a receipt even as your membership shows everything you have bought!!
Love, love, love their food......it's not always cheaper so you do have to know what's what where prices are concerned but it's always quality stuff. On the other hand some things are exceptionally cheap!!
I work for the Police which is how how got my membership.

These veggie boxes look very tempting but can't commit to them at the moment! i used to have a delivery a long time ago form Riverford Organics I think it was but back then I used to waste a lot of stuff
Comparing/discussing shopping on here is making me quite fussy! I have just had my delivery from tesco and so unhelpful after the Ocado deliveries...asked him to bring shopping into kitchen as am not supposed to be lifting at the mo and he just put the boxes down in the kitchen with the bags in!
I already sent a negative feedback after my Asda delivery last week can see me doing it again this week with Tesco lol

P.s Honey I love the mug on your stand with the grey/yellow flower! Spotted it the other day and there it is again where was that from?

Oh dear, sounds like terrible customer service from Tesco! Stick to Ocado, they know how to treat a customer :D My first organic veggie box was from Riverford, the veggies were really delicious but I think Abel & Cole is a bit better because you can pick and choose your favourite fruit and veg so you're not stuck with veggies you don't like and not know what to do with them. They're also a lot bigger and you get freebies like eggs this week (got 2 x 8oz steaks last week!)

Since I started getting these boxes, I've been a lot more creative in the kitchen, kind of freestyling a bit which is different from my usual regimented super organised style of cooking lol. Yesterday I made some sunblushed tomatoes, toay I made a fruit compote (pics in recipe thread) Pretty cool hey?! I'm going to go with it, I'm really enjoying shaking things up a bit. And by chance I found an old recipe binder I've had for years and years and years and there are SOOOO many lovely recipes in it, a lot from when my husband and I first started dating (awww :) ) so I'm inspired to the hilt at the moment. Even ordered two new aprons from John Lewis! :D :D :D

Oh and my mugs are from pip studio, the floral porcelain collection Coffee & Tea I got the early bird and floral ribbon mugs. I like that they're all mismatched and kitsch. Kath Kidson is a little extreme, these are just right amount of floral girly fun!

Oooh loving that site!
Great that you are all inspired :) I am actually missing cooking at the moment and hoping to get more into it when I move and have a more organised kitchen!

Am trying to work out what the postage is for things on it but can't seem to  Have you an idea at all Honey? x

I bought 6 mugs and paid 12.95 Euros postage. You can get them at John Lewis as well, just not the whole range :)

Went shopping for Afro foods yesterday, went to Brixton and got plantains, white flesh sweet potatoes, seasoning tubs (I put this in everything!), yam and some dried whole and ground shrimp! Yum!

5 bananas
20 satsumas

2 chicken breasts
1lb extra lean steak mince
1lb extra lean diced pork

veg boxes

After reading in the "show us your weekly shop" (or something along those lines :) ) thread I had a nose on google for veg boxes/farm shops. I was wondering for those who buy them could you give me an example of what you get in one and how much they cost please if you wouldn't mind? So far the 2 I've looked at seem pretty expensive for what you're getting. Just wondered if they were average prices or if I should delve deeper and see if there are others about.

Fankoo!!

I think they're expensive but I like the idea of getting stuff you wouldn't normally choose.

Why not give a friend the money and ask them to do you a box from the veggie shop? You could return the favour!

I looked into them too a while back and thought they were expensive too!!

Have you got a local Market or a monthly farmers Market you can get to? xx

I get a veggie box every week. Yes, it is on the dear side, but the quality of the veg is really good and I haven't ever thrown anything away because it was rotten. My box is £16 and the last box I got tomatoes, spinach, courgettes, salad leaves, cauliflower, cucumber, apples, melon, red currents. I am sure I am leaving a couple of things out, but can't think what. Hope that helps.
