marks family sound awful :eek::eek:
he is a very lucky boy to be such a part of your family xx

so happy birthday to him xxx

Mark's family are disgusting, they managed to scrape together £10 between them, but were eating Pizza from Pizza Hut, drinking Budweisers and smoking...:argh: said they'd give him another £10 next week. Whoopee!!!!
Not boasting and we're certainly no better off than they are, but between Me and Mal, Kirsty and Kelly, he got £160 ...the majority of course from Kirsty...she said he always spoils her and it's about time she spoiled him back ....they didn't even get him a birthday cake....good job we had the good sense to buy the poor bloke a cake ...so got tomorrow off and up for the next round of birthdays ...unless of course the grandbaby is born on time due tomorrow the 18th....

Well I am off to my bed, been a long day, nighty night all and sweet dreams :zz: xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey Kally, no news as yet, I have this weird feeling baby is going to hold out until Sunday for Kelly's b'day don't know why just got a strong feeling :giggle: would be typical we have loads of double birthdays in this family, so what's 1 more :8855:
Don't start me off on the Mark debacle , like you I wanted to say stuff it and even thought of offering him the £10 to get him to do exactly that, but then thought at the end of the day it's his choice and his family...even though they only live 5 minutes down the road he rarely pops over to see them anymore, used to be once a week but even that has dwindled...so they are the losers as far as I am concerned...if you were to see him round his brothers apart from the fact they are all very much alike in looks, you'd never believe they were even related as in personality they couldn't be more different. Mark is hard working, quiet and has a very sweet gentle nature...his 2 brothers are loud, lazy and like nothing more than getting into a fight usually over drugs or something of the kind and often do.
I'll tell you a little story about his parents and why I dislike them so much....his 18th Birthday, they gave him a card and threw him a surprise party (no gift they couldn't afford the party and a gift) at their neighbours house, which was sweet or so we thought, but then on the night of his 18th party, they were smoking cannabis and thought it was the done thing to give their son a toke of it as he was now a man and of age to appreciate it....my Kirsty who was 17 at the time, went ballistic, told them if they wanted to do that that was fine with her, but what kind of a parent thinks it's right to give their son his first taste of drugs as an 18th Birthday present....and then told Mark if that's what he wanted then they were over and if he ever touched any kind of drug again they would be over...while we all agree that it's their life and if they want to smoke cannabis that's their choice, but why would any decent parent think it was ok to give it to their child to try and as a birthday present too...it's beyond me ...I have a word for parents like that, but I won't be putting it up on here :giggle: xxxxxxxx

Sorry told you it was a sore subject...love Mark to bits, despise his family ...lol xxxxxxxxxx

drugs for his 18th birthday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh my god , my children don't know they are born
I have always been of the school of thought that there are legal age limits for a reason and if you do every thing in your early teens it leaves nothing to look forward too:eek:

We will be taking Matt out for his first drink on his 18th ( not strictly true as he had some beers when went to stay with becca in germany its legal to dring beer there from age 16 !!!) it will be the first drink we have bought him
I do not understand any parent that encourages their child to take drugs :eek::eek:

can you tell thats my hobby horse :D

hope your having a lovely evening and still taking it easy xxx

Hi sweetie,
Without going into detail one of my brothers got into drugs as a kid due to our bad childhood and ended up on Heroin, had a heart bypass op at 31 years of age due to the drug abuse and when they told him basically if he lived a very sedentary life he could expect a good 10 years more, he was so upset he overdosed in the hospital (got a so called friend to bring Heroin in) and died 3 weeks before his 32nd birthday, my whole family has been anti drugs since, but even without my brother I think I would have been too....even though I smoked I hated it and hated everything about it, I have drunk alcohol but have never really liked it, so about 6 years ago decided I didn't need to drink anymore and stopped, I do to be fair have the odd baileys but it is rare and only if it's full of ice. Mal has also been very anti drugs all his life. So of course so have our kids, we have never told them that they shouldn't or won't all we have done as with everything in their lives is to point out the pitfalls and to advise them and thankfully they have taken the right path.
When Kirsty told me about the incident I seriously thought she was joking, but Mark confirmed that they had done that, I seriously couldn't believe that any parent would do that.
Like I said if they choose to smoke cannabis that's their choice, but even if I did do that myself, I know for a fact I would never ever encourage my children to do it.....I will be honest and say that as a teenager I got in with a very bad crowd and did try drugs, as with alcohol thankfully I didn't like it and my children know that, but I have never glamorised what I did, I always tried my hardest to put them off not encourage them and can't believe any decent parent wouldn't do the same...I was and am still gobsmacked by his parents and their poor choices for their children ....
I am so sorry but this is my biggest rant subject, I really believe when you have kids you owe them the right to the best upbringing you can give them, regardless of your social standing and if you can't do that, then in my opinion don't have children, easy choice. Even if you do somehow get pregnant either keep the child and take that responsibility seriously or take one of the options available to you, so that you don't actually ruin their lives...

Rant over :giggle: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I am having a good evening thank you, and yep still taking it easy, got a heavy weekend ahead  , Hope you do too xxxxxxxx

Have just tried the Dolce Gusto Peach Iced Tea at 1 syn a cup...I think I just found my new addiction lol xxx

I was already in shock thinking what sort of parent wouldn't bother about their childs birthday but once you got onto the drugs story I was totally gobsmacked.

Loving the food pics and hope you're better now :)

Tilly that happened 5 years ago and I am still gobsmacked, they are 47 and 48 years of age, so not as if they're kids ....I could tell you so much more that is actually worse than that, but this is a public site so I won't ....every day I see Mark pulling away from them and I feel sad for him...I didn't have parents that gave a monkey's about me so I have done the opposite with my kids I have always made sure they know they are loved, I hug and kiss them loads and make a huge deal out of how special they are to me and how I chose to have them...and it really hurts to see Mark going through similar to what I went through. I do however hug and cuddle him when I feel it's necessary,I tend to hold back a little as he is a little shy, he is a lovely lad and my daughter is lucky to have him and vice versa and funnily enough the same with my eldest and her hubby...If I could have chosen partners for my girls they would be the 2 they have, if I were to die tomorrow I could go knowing my girls would be well looked after xxxxxx

Well today is the start of birthday weekend at Kelly's house...already phoned Jack and wished him a happy birthday and had a long chat, I love the fact that he says I love you Nanny big much:hug99:, even though his 2 friends were there and had been all night (his first sleepover awwww)
so am cooking a big batch of Minestrone soup (SW friendly yummy and filling), to take with me to stop me picking and Kelly is knocking up some SW friendly Chicken Pasta Prima Vera for dinner tonight with a lovely big salad..sorted and in total about 2 syns for the whole lot, even better :woohoo:
And then back to Kelly's tomorrow for her birthday, Jack was due on her birthday but came a day early, I remember her saying that's good means I can go out for a drink on my birthday now :8855: she didn't by the way lol
Anyway lovelies, will be back at some point tonight, probably the early hours, to update my diary and put up my menu for today, have a lovely day all and cya on the morrow xxxxxxxxxx :bighug: xxxxxxxxxxx

By the way I just have to share this little nugget with you all, it really made me laugh so much I almost peed my panties....

As my girls have grown up I have revelled in their little grammatical faux pas and they make great little stories now they are older like Kelly my eldest came running into the living room when she was about 13 shouting with excitement "look look, I have public hair" and pointing too her arm pits...absolutely cracked me up, then when Kirsty was about 14 (and she has dyslexia, says that is her excuse), and Kelly asked her was she a virgin, Kirsty got all indignant and very huffily said "No I'm not I love meat"...I remember literally peeing myself at that one....but last night it was my granddaughter Kelsi's turn and I swear even as I am thinking about what she said I am cracking up laughing....she was telling me about a boy called Jason that goes to her school and was saying that he has some mental health issues and was so so serious and concerned and then said and I quote "I am so worried about him Nan, cos he is so lovely but I really think he should see a shrimp", I absolutely wet myself laughing it was the funniest thing...I just love those moments they are such sharing moments for the rest of their lives :giggle: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
