Simon (Bolero's) Food Diary

Aye, was a busy day...although me and my colleague were nearly in tears come closing time. Spent the entire day putting everything in order in the junior library, only to have one of the busiest evenings for kids since we've opened...and now it looks like a tip again. Still, it was nice having a bit of order while it lasted. lolol. :p

To be fair, I think I've only 3 meals left in there now (spag bol, a sausage casserole, and a lasagne I think). The rest is all basic ingredients (like bags of Quorn mince, chips, mashed potato, etc), so not too bad. Once the meat is all cleared, it should be fine. :) Problem is the sausage casserole, as I can't remember if I used WW meat sausage or Quorn ones. Might give that to my mum to eat... :p

Oh, how annoying, haha! x I know the feeling, I have a volunteer job in a nursery and I often spend about 20 mins clearing up and it takes the kids less than 20 seconds to undo all of my work, lol! xx

Doesn't sound too bad! WW sausages and quorn sausages are both only 2pp for 1 so if you do decide to eat it it shouldn't be too difficult to point :) If not i'm sure your Mum will definitely appreciate it, haha!

Lol oh dear...kids are great like that..sounds like a fun day ;0)
That's good about the meals almost being finshed with, might be worth giving your Mum the sausage casserole to be on the safe side!

I think I'm going too (not a big sausage fan anyway, to be honest). Shall be scratching that off the old cooking list...which isn't so much of a list at present, more than it is one thing I've made my mind up about cooking. lol

Think I better go have some food. Didn't realise I still had 16pp left.

Thanks. :) Pleased about the loss, but not having a good day since then unfortunately. Been feeling like I'm being patronised all day at work, which is something that really winds me up. Being treated like an idiot is one of my biggest pet peeves. Also doesn't help that my stomach is playing up again, which is frustrating as I though I was getting on top of it all.
So all in all I'm feeling pretty 'meh' in general. I'll be glad when it's Sunday...off out with a mate then, and I suspect it's going to turn into a drink-heavy day. Think I need that right now, to take a bit of the stress away.

I hate being treated like a idiot as well..it's such a bullying thing to do and not nice at all! I hope you're ok and maybe the tummy upset is partially stressed related as you're having a bad day at work!
Roll on Sunday for you so you can go out and have some fun :0)

Thanks all. I get this "problem" whenever I have to work with this particular member of staff, and I just haven't been in the mood for it lately...it's been a long summer since my last week off! Small consolation is that I'm not alone in this, so that's something...misery likes company I suppose. :p
Aye, I would agree with the stress related part up to a point. I must admit I do react badly to stress in a physical way, and I'm feeling very drained this week. Still, Friday tomorrow and my family history class...so that should perk me up a tad. Looking forward and hoping that my usual crowd is there, as we've got a good raport going as a group and it's nice & so rewarding seeing people's research develop. :)

Dinner tonight was a fish pie I found lurking in the freezer. I think it was supposed to be the recipe from p.94 of my usual cookbook, but there was squid in it as well as the prawns & white fish that the recipe gives...so I'm going to add a couple of pp onto what the book says, just to be on the safe side. Did enjoy it. Squid is my favourite seafood!! :)

Sounds like you will have a better day tomorrow then.thats good to hear :0)
Glad you enjoyed your pie,I've yet to try squid though I looked up the Youngs calamari you mentioned the other day and they look nice, just don't think they do them where I shop!

It must be said that squid isn't for everyone...when it's not cooked right then it's like chewing on an old tire, and I think that would put a lot of people off. When stewed for the better part of an afternoon or cooked for just a minute, then it's sublime in my opinion.
It is quite difficult to get hold of the calamari rings. The only place I've found them is in Sainsburys, after months of searching every shop I could think of. Probably got a recipe to make them somewhere, though...shall have to have a dig through all the books I've got over the weekend. :)

Feeling a bit more myself after my class today...was nice to shut my mind off from the outside world and focus on what I enjoy for an hour. :) But still, two more shifts to go... lol
Tonight is spaghetti & Quorn balls that was lurking in the freezer (seems to be a pattern developing here), although it's going to be fun to point as it's a meal I did when I was cal counting...so shall have to enter the ingredients (which I think I have as a saved meal on MyFitnessPal) into eSource tonight to work out. Don't imagine it's more than about 10pp though.

It's roughly 1pp to every 40 calories If that helps xx

Aye, squid is a bit of an acquired taste I fancy. I love it personally (of course), but I'm yet to find a seafood I dislike to be honest. Think I was born to live on fish. :p

I very much enjoyed dinner, although I've been quite hungry all day so I think sawdust would have been enjoyable. :p Worked out as 9pp in the end, as mostly everything in it was points free veg. :)
