Simon (Bolero's) Food Diary

Think I'm definitely making pizza today...even if I have just told eSource I'm using 200 portion of bread flour instead of 200g. Nearly messed myself when I saw I was using 1662pp for it. lol. Haven't decided on the topping yet, so I'll update my diary later on. Thinking of getting some Quorn pepperoni I've noticed in ASDA and doing a veggie pepperoni pizza. :)

Lol loadsa points ;0) tut tut at no breakfast!!
Do guys get 49 weeklies as well? When my OH was doing WW we just added 49 but I never knew for sure!

Aye, get 49 weeklies too...thank heavens! :) Think it's just dailies where men get more, for whatever reason...there was a time when I was on 63pp a day, and that was far too many.

Well, I couldn't get the Quorn pepperoni...so I'm making the pizza with Quorn bacon instead, and shoving on a bit of extra cheese. One problem though...I forgot to buy passata (completely slipped my mind up until I was preparing ingredients in the kitchen), so I'll be using tomato puree instead. Doubt it will make much of a difference though.

Ok thanks for that, hopefully he will get back into it when he goes to Uni,he is allowed 51pp.
I've only used tomato purée on my pizzas though have only made them with wraps or pitta bread!
Am sure it will taste fine :0)

I do tend to use tomato puree when I do them with wraps etc. Did try passata once with a square wrap, and that was messy to say the least. On a thick base, though, I find passata works well.
I'm going to vary it a bit though, and have decided to use a bit of reggae reggae sauce as the sauce base instead...inspired a little by the reggae reggae pizza they used to do in Dominos.

Hope so...'tis in the oven as we speak, minus a few pieces of mozarella that seem to have got eaten during the whole cooking process. ;)
Freshly made pizza is so much more gorgeous than shop-bought (which is pretty amazing too). So grateful to the lovely friend who gave me the recipe/idea some moons ago. :) Can recommend making your own to anyone. The 200g I use makes such a big pizza...did start out as 120g the first time around, but with the yeast (little granules that you add 1/4 pint of water too to activate) I'm using it came out far too wet. Perhaps a smaller pizza would be more ideal for anyone with a lower daily points count...I know using 17pp on the flour alone could be a bit much.

That sounds amazing I have been craving pizza all day!! I think maybe it's a good thing that dominos don't deliver to where I live lol xx

Glad you enjoyed it :0) I'm guessing I could have the wholemeal flour for free on simply filling! I might make it one day, will stick with wraps for now ;0)

Morning all. :) Back to work today (oh joy), but at least it's in my own branch today...so no cliquey stuff to try to cope with. Much rather be in my own library where I know everyone who will come in and can actually relax & get on with the job. Makes for a much better life.
That said, I'm ready for a week off next week. Thinking I'll go the full hog and say I'm not available to work extra on the Monday & Tuesday the following week as well...that way I can get 10-days off for the price of 3-days leave. :p

Another freezer meal today. Cracked out a portion of tuna pasta bake that I cooked back when I was doing the Spike Diet way back at the start of the year. Recipe is from P.60 of the trusty WW Book of Recipes. I'll be glad when this freezer is empty!

Love tuna pasta bake..is the bottom of the freezer in sight yet?
Hope work goes well though it does sound like a better day for you..good idea about the extra days off..result :0)

Today hasn't been quite so laid back as I'd planned...we've been tidying up after the summer, and it's amazing how much bedlam there is. Don't think we've found a single kid's book where it should be! :p Must admit I'm exhausted, but at least there's plenty to do. Hate being bored at work.

The freezer looks just as full as it ever did...it's like the Tardis is there!! Have enlisted the help of my parents to eat the meat parts for me, so hopefully there will be an end in sight sometime.

Sounds like a pretty busy day at work for you!
Saves being bored though as you say!
Thats good that your parents can help with the meat meals..you might get to the bottom after all!
