Simon (Bolero's) Food Diary

Morning all. Still feeling a bit rough today...the sore throat is starting to develop into a cough, which is frustrating, and my arms are aching something rotten - although I suspect that's to do with a lot of heavy lifting that I had to do at work.
On the plus side, I'm fresh off the scales and it's a nice 1.5lbs off this week. Quite pleased with that. :)

No idea what I'm having for food today, as it's another complicated work day...in one place until 1, then darting off somewhere else for 2. It'll be a dash into Tesco for lunch, then, so expect I'll grab a sandwich of some description.

Morning :0)
Well done on your loss, that's great news, sorry to hear you are feeling poorly though, hope you feel better soon and yup arms aching will probably be because of the heavy lifting you did.
Hope work goes well, pain about having to dash around though!

Thanks all. :) Just had my rota for next week, and I'm not penciled in for any over-time Monday or Tuesday...so looks like I've got a rest. Yay! That'll give me a chance to catch up on things and finish my wills off, especially now I'm planning on my next trip (there's a few letters in Kew written to the home office back in 1790ish about a murder case in the family, so want to check those out). :p

Yay to having a bit of a rest, very interesting about the murder case!
Hope you enjoy your weekend and yup it's good that you've gone down a point as it means you are doing well :0)

Whereas I have developed an addiction to pizza.... Lol
Oh that too! How about a fig pizza? lolol.

Well the days off didn't last, but they're two half days...so that's alright. Especially since Monday is not until the afternoon, so at least I get a lie-in. Book a week off in November now (the week after half term!), so yay...counting down already. lolol.

The murder case is interesting. From what I've read it seems like the two parties (a Charles Twyman and a Thomas Ancell) had a disagreement over something, and Charles vowed to take revenge...and did so by nicking Thomas Ancell's stuff, then beat him around the head and drove his horse over him a few times. All disturbing stuff, really. No idea whether they caught Charles or what happened next, so will be interesting to unravel a bit more of things.

Evening all. Thankfully work is over for the week, as I'm a bit stressed by it...but working alone Monday & Tuesday, so a few days without office politics to concern me! Yay!

Just tried the new Special K Crisps, which were nice...although it was odd to be eating a Kelloggs product that was savoury. Whatever next. lol :p Having a treat tonight, in that I had mackeral for tea (which is my favourite fish) and am having a couple of cans. Will probably stick to two though, and have a little bite to eat later. Making pizza tomorrow then...go pizza! lolol.

Apart from a day up in the National Archives in London, I've not really thought out my week off yet to be honest. See what takes my fancy. :) Planning a little holiday next summer, though, when I'm either going down to Kent for a week or down to the Isle of Wight for a week. Both have their merits, and both will involve a visit to the local archives on one day...hard to keep me away from them! lol.

Morning :0) hope you enjoyed your treats last night!
That's good you're working alone Monday and Tuesday..peaceful!
I haven't been to the Isle of Wight since a child but both there and Kent are both nice places to vist as you say.
You are the king of archives it seems!!

Morning. I've never been to the Isle of Wight, but a distant branch of the family lived there and I've always wanted to visit. Just trying to work out if going there or going back home to Kent (was born in Kent myself, and love going back whenever I can) would be more fun. If I went to Kent, I expect I'd pop into a few graveyards and check out the estate that's been mentioned so often in these wills. Decisions decisions. lol. At the end of the day, it will probably come down to where I can get the cheapest accommodation. lolol

Quite surprised today, as I've been discovering the Be Good to Yourself range in Sainsburys since they opened a new store down the road...surprised to find that some of the products still have discover points on them. After what 2-years, I'm a bit surprised that there are pointed products without PP on them.

Pizza today...probably going to do my take of a plain cheese and tomato one, which for the life of me I can't remember the Italian name for.

I've holidayed in Kent a couple of times, nice area..cheap accommodation is always a bonus :0)
Whereabouts where you born there if you don't mind me asking?
Margherita is the name of the pizza..enjoy :0)

Ah yes. Thanks. :) Must admit that I often have moments where I just can't think of words or things like that. :p

Was born in Maidstone, although I don't remember it all that well to be honest...moved here to Wales when I was 5, mainly as my grandmother (who was from around here) wanted to move back. Would be handy living down Kent again, though, if for nothing else than it would make my researching a lot easier, as all my dad's side of the family were from down there. :p

To be honest I had a blank about the pizza and asked the OH lol...he was living in Kent before moving in with me,he only lived there a couple of years,we are both from Essex but now live in Suffolk.
Have you picked up a welsh accent over the years then?
It does sound like you would benefit from some time spent in Kent!
