Simon (Bolero's) Food Diary

Morning. They've made a bit of a difference, but I'm still very bloated. Hopefully things with "move" very shortly.

Having a different brekkie today (what's happened to the party puffs?? lol), as I noticed the WW apricot jam was going cheap in Tesco (47p for a jar!)...so having some of that on crumpets for brekkie. Yum! Undecided on dinner tonight...it's either going to be a Levi Roots meal, or the new WW green thai. Haven't decided which I want today yet. :p

Thanks Han. :) I'll see if I can pop to H&B tomorrow after work. Wouldn't mind going there for other stuff...they're a positive life-line for vegetarianism, so should really see what I can get there that isn't Quorn-based to try to avoid this problem again.

Not enjoying these Tesco things. All they've done is make me sound like a foghorn with a gas leak.

Yeah I've definitely noticed a huge improvement. Movements are still slow but I'm going more often and it's making it a lot less painful. H&b are pretty ace for special dietary needs, pity they are so expensive though lol x

You can buy the psyllium husks in their 'natural' state and you mix a tspn in with a glass of water. I get them this way - a lot cheaper than tablets, and you're sure of getting plenty of water with them that way too, as you need to get enough liquid when taking them, or they can make it worse rather than better! I chug one glass down with the husks in, then swill the glass around with a second lot of water to get the stuck bits of husks off the side.

How did the WW jam taste btw?
It was really nice. Not usually a fan of apricot jam if I'm honest, but it was really tasty...and it's surprising how much jam you get for a 15g portion! Only got it due to the price (who can resist at 47p lol), but am glad I did! :)

That's good they're making a difference! :) Shall definitely have a look later. :) I do really love H&B, but as you say the prices are a bit meh. I always enjoy the range of herbal teas they have (which I'm a bit fanatical about...love my teas)...wonder if they've got something in them that might encourage a little movement, as it were.

That's good to know. :) My water intake is always pretty high (I get through at least 3-litres a day, often more...always have done, due to an otherwise un-noticable medical thing), so shouldn't have a problem there. :)

Afternoon. It has been a weekend of trials and errors with food. Last night I made what was supposed to be a chicken caesar type wrap, made with Quorn roast chicken pieces and BGTY cheese & light mayo. It must be said that it was about as nice as eating dung...so won't be making that again! lol. Lunch today was better, where I did a take on an eggs benedict type thing. I was too lazy to make hollandaise sauce, though, so I just bunged some cheese on top. Was quite nice, and made a change to have eggs. :)

Had a trip to ASDA yesterday, where they've got Heinz Beanz at 50p a tin at present (so I've picked up a few "new" varieties to try...got a garlic one, and a cheddar cheese one which I'm trying tonight) and found out that they've got the WW red wine going cheap. Don't know if it's end of line or something, but at £3 a bottle (when it always used to be nearly £6) I couldn't resist as I find it quite nice. Have put that aside for Xmas. :) Also tried the WW chocolate digestives, which being chocolate are of course lovely. :p

Everything to me is a "thing". It amazes me, as at work my colleague knows exactly what "thing" I'm on about. We've been working together too long!! lol. :p

Just home from work...been a hectic day, as I got a phonecall dragging me to another library after my original shift. Was fine, apart from it felt more like an afternoon in a creche. Very glad to be home in the quiet with my cat - who is currently rolling about on the carpet hoping I'll rub her belly, at which point she'll no doubt kick me to death. Cats! lol.

Afternoon all. Just got back from the dentist (and ASDA lol). Glad I went to ASDA, as they had a huge block of tofu reduced (still perfectly in date, so I think it's an end of line thing...our local ASDA seems to be phasing out their vegetarian and WW foods, annoyingly) so I'm having a tofu stirfry for tea. Looking forward to that, as I've not had tofu since the first time I was a vegetarian...about 4 years ago!

Morning all. I'm tearing my hair out this morning, as I've still not 'been' and am in quite a lot of discomfort...not to mention doing a good impression of the North Sea gas supply. Hopefully things will move very soon...just about ready to try anything now! Now if it wasn't for the sugar content of it, I'd go have a Red Bull cola...as that always gets things going (I think it's to do with the liquorice they use as part of the flavouring. Pity they don't make a diet Red Bull cola. lol

A little, thank. Still a bit bloated though...and hoping it passes by the morning, as tomorrow is weigh in! Got chilli beans for dinner, so that should help...fibre and spice will kill or cure, no doubt. Possibly kill, given I once made a curry that took the varnish off the dining table! ;)

Thanks. :) I'm hoping for a nice loss, so fingers crossed. :) I tend to like incredibly hot curries...only ever been defeated once (by a phaal), which felt something like sucking on a blow torch. Don't do them very often, as curries never stay as just a curry...can't have it without all the accompaniments and a stack of cider. :p Maybe for Xmas.
