Simon (Bolero's) Food Diary

Oh yes, I have a strong Welsh accent...at least when I talk to friends or at work. Oddly when I talk to my parents, my Kentish accent comes rushing back. It's a completely involuntary thing, and always amazes my friends when there's ever a conversation involving my parents as I'll be speaking to them one second in a Welsh accent, and a second later will be sounding all Kentish when I say anything to my mum or dad.

With the pizza I knew it was supposedly named after an Italian queen, but couldn't quite place the word...it was marinara in my head for a while, but knew that wasn't quite it. lol.

I totally get what you mean about accents,I knew a girl who was brought up in Essex but spoked with a northern accent when she spoke to her northern parents!
Lol bout the name of the pizza...you were almost there ;0)

Well that pizza was delicious! Must make marinara pizza more often. ;-)

Bit disappointed with my desert, though. I had a Light Choices mango & passion fruit yoghurt, and while it was very tasty the pot was announcing it is 1pp a pot. Went to track it, to find it's not in eSource...so I add the nutrition, and it comes out to 2pp a pot. Hmmm...going with 2pp to be on the safe side.

Morning. Well, so much for a quiet day tomorrow...been moved now so I'm doing a full day. Ah well...think of the money, I suppose. Really could use a change of pace in life though...all this rushing around and things changing at the last second doesn't agree!

Hi. :) I'd love too, but will have to see how the money goes. May come down to part time study, which I'd be happy with...don't dislike working (and the money is good lol), just a bit tired of the situation we're in mainly. But then I'd be surprised if anyone working in the public sector isn't a bit frustrated at present. Ah well.

Spent my afternoon at work noming on dates. Disappointed they have points on them, but they were so delicious I can live with that! Got some Sainsbury's BGTY custard & creme fraiche, so am going to have some creme fraiche with passion fruit and mango in later...see how that comes out. :p

Enjoy your afters :0) I've never liked the taste of dates and figs but glad you enjoyed your dates!
Part time study isn't a bad idea at all,it's a paupers life being a student so work will come in handy for sure!

Evening all. Just got back from work. Didn't get online lunch time, which was odd...needed five away from the desk with my kindle (called Trevor...private joke. lol). :p
Breaking my meat fast tonight with a WW hunters chicken ready meal. Partly as I've had my fortnightly meat craving hit, and partly as I've been eager to try this meal for months...and after a randomly popping into a branch of ASDA I don't usually visit, I've found a load of WW products I've not tried. So noms ahead the next few days. lol.

Morning. :) Honestly I found the hunter's chicken to be a bit of an anti-climax. No taste to it really, and wasn't worth 9pp imo. Ah well, live and learn. lol. I've also got the new WW thai green curry in the fridge, which I may be giving my rating on tonight. lol. What I have enjoyed, though, is the WW butter & spread. I've got the butter waiting, and the spread is great...had some on ryvita last night, and can't complain at 1pp for 40g of it (or points free for 10g!). 10g was enough for a generous spread on a ryvita, I think. :p

I'm finding myself impressed so far with the BGTY deserts. Loved the bread pudding & crumble (lovely taste of apples to the crumble), although the custard is a bit sweet for my tastes...although you expect that when it's done with sweeteners. Toying with the idea of trying their apple & pastry desert next...sort of like an apple pie with filo pastry, I suppose.

Just tried on of the new WW chilled ready meals...the smokey chipotle chilli with spicy rice, which is 11pp for the meal. My say I'm quite impressed. Despite looking like it had already been digested , it tasted very nice...and will hopefully get my tum moving a little, as I've been suffering with being blocked up a bit. Gone from one extreme to the other.

Morning all. Just off my scales, and I'm down by a quarter of a pound this week. I'd been expecting a small loss or a sts to be honest (and sorry for too much info :p), as I'm terribly constipated at the moment. Gonna have to pick something up after work to trying to help, as it's getting more than a bit frustrating.

Haven't tried the Tesco puds to be honest, although the BGTY equivalent of the filo pud does look really nice. Handy now that the weather is turning, too...don't really want frozen puds when I come home now. Thinking of seeing if they do a rice pudding in the range, as I've not had that in years. Would make a lovely change.

Breakfast today was fruit in creme fraiche...partly as the mango in the fridge was starting to go a bit mushy, and partly as a bit of fruit might help my tum. Quite nice, and I can recommend mixing mango with passion fruit to anyway. They really work well together. :) Shall put my diary for the day up when I'm home from work, as I've not a clue what else I'm going to eat today. :p

Thanks. :) Might have to pick up a tin of the rice, then. Just been in Tesco, so pity it didn't cross my mind...I'm hopeless when shopping without a list!

Half day today, so I'm home...with some Tesco's own constipation things, so hopefully they'll do the trick. Otherwise I'm going to have to get drastic and try some fybogel...failing that, the next step is a curry milkshake. That'll do the trick!! ;)
