Simon (Bolero's) Food Diary

When I can be bothered. :p I've got two favourite curry recipes: one for beef dopiazza (which is from the oriental cookbook you can get in meetings - I assume they still do it) and one for chicken balti (which is in the WW book of recipes - the blue one with creme brule on the cover. lol). They both come out really tasty!
I am, to be honest, looking for a recipe at present (I'm sure I've got one somewhere...hundreds of cookbooks here at home!) for a tofu curry recipe so I can use up what's left of the tofu I bought yesterday. Planning on making it for the weekend. I'll put up the recipe and a pic on the weekend once I've sorted it. :)

Morning all. Just off the scales, and it's a pound off this week...which I'm thrilled about! Yay!
Still very frustrated about this constipation, though. I almost miss the problems I was having from my meat-heavy diet, and am second-guessing the sense of trying to be a pescetarian again. That second guessing will pass as it's just the frustration talking, but I do need to find a happy medium somewhere.
Making pizza tonight, which will improve my mood a little I think. Probably going to go with faux-pepperoni again, as I enjoyed that a lot last time.

Thanks. :) Decided I shall use a few weeklies tonight and have a couple of drinks with my pizza, then play a couple of games. Think I deserve a night off from doing my family history stuff, and seeing as how I've got to wait until my lunch break tomorrow to get the next bit of what I've been working on with it (I'm not paying for access to Ancestry when it's free at work! lol) I may as well switch the brain off. :)

Morning all. As promised, here's a picture of last night's pizza. :) It was as good as it looks!

I'll put my diary for today up when I'm home from work tonight, as I'm running a bit late this morning (overslept) and have to reply to a family tree email before I leave for work. I'm a member of the GOONs (Guild of One-Name Studies, that is...not the protegee to Spike Milligan!), so I have to reply to each and every inquiry I get...which is great, as it means help for both them & me usually. :)

Yay. We have another convert. lolol :p It's definately worth making your own pizza. It's so much tastier than shop-bought, and the dough is dead easy to make...just bread flour with yeast and a little water is all I use. The original recipe I was given by my pizza guru does use much less flour than I use (I'm greedy! lol) and says to add a little oil, but I never bother as I find it moist enough without personally. :)

Oh it is. Picture looks good enough to eat. How many pp in pixels?? lol :p

Just been sorting out my week/ten days off. I shall be off to London on the Wednesday to visit the National Archives, which is fine...shall keep my weeklies in reserve for that day, to allow for the eating in the services and so forth. I'm away for the weekend then, as I'm off to Aberystwyth to visit a student friend of mine. Bit concerned about the points I'll use that weekend, but we'll see how it goes.

But anyway, today's diary...

Must say that the food today has been exceptional, especially the plaice. Just baked it in the oven, and it was the most delicious bit of fish I've had in a very long time. :) Looking forward to tomorrow's food too. I'm making thai-style tofu fritters, from a recipe in a WW cookbook (can't remember which one it is...just that it's the one you get free for joining WW online. lol). No idea what I'll serve with them, but expect a pic tomorrow for the new recipe. :)

Aye, I'm expecting to be more exhausted after that week off than I would be going to work...can't wait, though. It's the week after half-term I've got booked off, so that should be nice.

Evening all. Just had my dinner, which was yum. As I mentioned earlier, I made a new recipe today...lemongrass and ginger tofu fritters (from p.34 of the WW Simply Enjoy recipe book). The recipe was meant to be a starter to serve four (at 4pp a portion), but I made then as a main meal and ate the lot. :p They came out really tasty, and I can recommend the recipe to anyone. :) Very nice little thai-style recipe. :) Picture bellow, and diary for today to follow. :)
I did overdo the chilli in it, though, so am on fire a bit. lol.

They were very tasty. I usually find that tofu is more than a bit bland, but doing it like that really made a difference and if you didn't know then you wouldn't realise that they were made from tofu...if you know what I mean.

Not feeling at my best today - feeling a bit depressed, partly due to a few things that have been going on at my end and that I tend to get a bit low when the winter months spring around. I'll be fine...just need to keep my mind busy.

Having a late breakfast today...say late breakfast, as a raisin bagel with jam is an odd lunch to me. Always think of lunch as savoury. :p Shall put my diary up later when I decide what I want to cook tonight.
