Snow's healthy living ramblings

Oh bit weird! Hope you'll be able to go soon. I hate it when I cant, so I know how you feel!

How are you feeling today? :)

I am okay. I have decided to carry on with red day if only because I'd planned my week already and don't want to redo it. Instead of switching to green have bought some foods that are meant to help and am going to use one of my HEB's on beans (sorry for all the TMI)

B: Biolive 0% yoghurt, strawberries, tsp low syn jam. (0.5 syns), carrot sticks
L: Hot smoked salmon, beetroot, apple, more strawberries, carrot sticks
D: WW Sausages (2), no fat bacon, beans, frylight onions, brocolli cheese using HEA

Snacks
chicken tikka (free)
Apple
Salted Caramel Hifibar (HEB)
Wotsits (5 syns)
Hifi light (3 syns)

Total syns 10.5 (may get some maltesers to make this up!)

apparently scan bran can help as well.. :) One woman in group once told me they... over help, lol!

Scan bran does overhelp if you eat it and drink loads of water and if you dare to eat and don't drink loads then it has the opposite effect. I haven't got any in because I think it tastes like cardboard but I may get some next week to stick in the cupboard for emergencies.

Anyway the tablet finally worked so I must have seemed really workshy this afternoon as I was barely at my desk (end of TMI I promise) so I've changed tea to steak and potatoes (HEB) with brocolli cheese as beans seemed a bad idea!

Is it wrong that I giggled at your work shy comment? Poor you lol! :)

And I agree that it tastes like cardboard, but, you could make fake rochers with it? They are yummy!

Hope you're well :) xx

I was just glad it didn't happen on Monday when I spent like 9 hours in a hire car and 2 hours in a presentation. Long day!

I do like the fake rochers but try not to buy nutella for control reasons. Will consider it though.

I am okay - just waiting for my shopping to be delivered as OH wants eggs with the breakfast for dinner.

I have a weird non scale victory this week - people have always said on diets their taste buds change and they no longer like sweet things as much - I would not say that this has happened to me (lol if only) but I used to really not like natural yoghurt (hence my having it with the low syn jam) but lately I have started to like it more and I've been putting less and less low syn jam in (I count 0.5 syn no matter how much as it's 2.5 syns a jar so hard to calculate and better to over count) and though I put it on the food diary today I ate the yoghurt without the jam and it was really nice so that must be a change to my taste buds and something I can now have syn free.

Aww yay! Hurray for you :D

And yeah it is good that it didn't happen in the car lol! May have needed an adult nappy in the end ;) (I joke of course lol)

Breakfast for dinner sounds like such a good idea.. I may have to copy you sometime soon :D

I do breakfast for dinner it all the time but mainly because I never get to have cooked breakfast weekdays due to work (well I could but I'd have to get up really early which is never going to happen.)

Red Day again today

Benefit bar for another three syns. Or I might make it half a HEB and have Cheese on Toast as I have maltesers I was going to have for the rest of my syns.

Had cheese on toast so that's my Heb and will have 5 syns of maltesers later

Here's the veggie stirfry and sticky pork.

Going to have a Green day today. Was going to do weetabix pancakes but they didn't work so changed to weetabix muffins.

B: 3 weetabix muffins (3 syns), strawberries, 1 tsp Choc Shot (0.5 syns), anchor light 12.5 (1 syns) 250ml Alpro Dark Chocolate Almond Milk (HEA)

L: left over stir fry, 8 quorn mini kievs (4 syns) I hope these are nice - I've not tried them and I love mini kievs.

D: 2 ww pittas (HEB), refried beans, home made salsa, salad, 30g cheddar (HEA)

Snacks
Grapes
BBQ Pops (5)
Maltesers (5)

Reviews of what I got today.
Choc shot - this is amazing for half a syn a tea spoon will definitely get again. I am really looking forward to when they bring out the different flavours of this.
Dark Chocolate Almond Milk - this is okay much nicer than soya chocolate milk I've tried and I think if I could drink proper milk I'd probably prefer that with a bit of choc shot for the syns but it's the best dairy free one I've tried.
Quorn mini kievs. These are really nice tastig but a bit dry texture wise they are obviously lower syn for having less sauce in the middle, when I cook them again I'll try and have some HEA left so I can make a bit of garlic cream cheese sauce to dip them in.

I read online that only Sainsbury's and waitrose sell it. I trailed to waitrose yesterday and they didn't have it so I made my OH get up and drive me to Sainsbury's today and they had it - had £1 off too. I was nearly going to buy it off amazon but it would have worked out £7 a bottle once the postage was added on so refused to pay that.

It was next to the hot chocolate etc. I picked up the peanut butter hot drink too but haven't left myself enough syns to try it today so I'll review that tomorrow. Sainsbury's is the only place I've come across the quorn mini kievs too.

The kievs were in the frozen bit in a orange bag (so they looked really like all the other quorn stuff). They are called Quorn meat free bitesize kievs. Anyway they are half a syn each where I think ones made with chicken/turkey are 2 each so much more reasonable

I used to make kievs last time I was doing slimming world actually and gave up on them because I could never get the sauce for the middle nice (I was using quark) but I bet if I used HEA of philli plus roasted garlic I could do much better this time. Something to consider!

Here is the pitta. Swapped out cheese for philli for my HEA as made the salsa hotter than normal by accident.
