Steps In The Right Direction...86.6lbs Lost Fasting

Woohoo on hula hooping, I really need to buy one!

Well I will admit something here. My name is Lexie & I'm a complete diet bore! My friends get sick of it cos I talk about food & diets almost all the time but it's so important to me. I don't mean to but I know I do it

Well I for one love Lexie the diet bore!! :D...you make me feel less alone in my mad ramblings.

My neighbour's seven yr old was out with her hula hoop yesterday and I thought about buying one - but would it be just another exercise tool that never sees the light of day like the rebounder, the step, the thigh master, the numerous exercise DVDs? Embarrassingly, the list goes on and on and on!!

I once had the shame of selling a cross trainer on ebay... that had become a clothes stand... and when the guy came to pick it up I felt such an idiot standing there all 16 plus stone of me selling what I obviously needed to use but didn't!

I have a long list too but a hula hoop isn't exactly going to break the bank. Might have to invest!

Got mine on amazon for around £10 and honestly it works all my stomach muscles and even my thighs. I'm no fan of exercise but there is the rush of satisfaction in seeing how long you can keep spinning :p

IT HAS ARRIVED!!!!

...Slightly scared of it...and also the protein powder which arrived too

So...I made a nutriblast. Managed to fast all day and that is all I've had. I made it with half a container of spinach, a frozen banana, a handful of strawberries and a scoop of chocolate protein powder topped up with 300ml of koko milk. It turned a fetching camouflage green colour but I have to admit it tasted really creamy and a mix of chocolate and banana...I'm well impressed. Super busy day. Need to go water the garden that is dying after the baking heat and then I'll catch up better on here.

DSC_0336.jpgDSC_0337.JPGDSC_0338.JPG..,not the most appetising looking of drinks

I have earth shattering news....I MANAGED TO HULA HOOP FOR 12 MINUTES WITHOUT IT FALLING AND HAVING TO PICK IT UP :winner:..and that's all the exercise I've done as it's too hot. I even posted a selfie online today...the heat is making me reckless. Gavin loves the good weather. I bought a child's paddling pool and he has spent most of the day just going in and out it. (I know...he's beginning to turn into a child substitute  ) Been a good day food wise and tomorrow my blender and protein powder arrive so hope to fast but may get carried away blending so might postpone it till Wednesday. As long as I fit in 2 fasts a week I'm happy. Viewing houses in Belfast on Thursday and seeing hotbuns :)

Lucky Gavin and lucky Hotbuns - hope the visit and the house viewings go well!

I'm glad it tasted better than it looks! Heat is killing here too. I work 2 hours a week, on a Tuesday, and those 2 hours are guaranteed to be the warmest of the week.

Thanks upndown x

It does look vile doesn't it!! I'm going to try the protein powder on it's own tomorrow but have a feeling I might need to mix it in things  It's just too hot...and sleeping at night is near impossible. My fitbit said I had 3 hours and 42 minutes of sleep last night.

Well I've watered all the pots that needed watering...do you think the will ever invent a garden hose that either doesn't kink, leak or end up soaking you more than the garden? I've tried all kinds with little success. Surprisingly the shake I made has filled me up...did make one and a half big glasses though... and not having anything else today so fast day completed.

I downloaded an app to make a collage of my daily food so I'll do yesterday's and you've already seen today's.

Nothing very exciting. Idiot I am decided to make butternut squash soup on a hot day..and added too many chilli flakes! Had some buckwheat crackers which are gluten free and really tasty. Pink salmon flakes for dinner. Also used some of my flaxseed mix with my greek yogurt and fruit for breakfast. Haven't even thought about tomorrow's food. Will probably do my second fast on Friday as in this heat don't think it would be a good idea to do it on Thursday when house hunting.

Have you tried the Xhose? I'm thinking about investing in one each for my mum and me but have seen mixed reviews about it. Love your food photos.

How's the Nutribullet shaping up? What interesting concoctions have you been trying?

It's been one of those days. Woke up with a sore throat...tripped over Gavin and hurt my knee...and then found out he'd chewed through my laptop charger cable. I am now having to type with one finger on my tablet...and I suffer from " fat uncoordinated finger syndrome " on a touch screen so my posts will probably be short  New charger coming on Friday so normal service with photos will resume then.

I'm loving my Nutribullet Cate. It is so quick and no mess. Plus it makes the drinks really smooth. Had an apple, carrot, pear and spinach mix this morning with lemon juice and ginger. And have just had an avocado and chocolate protein shake..with spinach again! They are all turning out sludgy green because of the spinach but planning some tasty pure fruit one's for Friday.

Not heard of the xhose...will need to have a google!

I have the fat finger issue too but managed to get a keyboard for my tablet which is bluetooth and the tablet props up on it. Now the laptop doesn't get a look in! Hope the throat is ok and the knee! If that's the worse thing Gavin ever does I reckon you'll be lucky enough...

I have a feeling Gavin is going to be a handful...he eats EVERYTHING!

Bit like me then, given half the chance. Apart from beetroot and oysters. Yuk.

Hope you start feeling better soon. You should do with all those vitamins and minerals you must be getting into yourself.

I'll see your beetroot and oysters and raise you olives. Yeuch!

I didn't include olives because I can eat tiny bits of them if they're on a pizza and scattered quite sparsely but couldn't eat a whole one! Oh, and I can't stand the taste of cloves either thinking about it. Why do people insist on ruining perfectly delicious apple pies and roasted hams with cloves?

*hides beetroot, olives and cloves behind her back and looks shifty* Too hot to sleep. Need to be up and out house in 5 hours to catch plane!!

Am guessing you're in the air now! Hope all goes well, this is the start of your new life/adventure xx
