B. 1.5 oz cheddar cheese
D. gammon steak, 2 eggs, 2 red leicester n pork sausages, 4 mushrooms, 2 tomatoes, tiny chicken breast... sugar free strawberry jelly, 2 tbsp crea
S. 3 slices of aldi cooked ham

Oh wow Tracy amazing pics, love! You are doing so well - but that doesn't sound like much for breakfast to me!

Jim's rule is eat like a king at breakfast and dine like a pauper at tea :) Mind you, I don't follow my own (or most other people's0 advice either most of the time :)

usually, unless i am fasting on that day, i have a good breakfast, this past week i have had a bit of a rush in the mornings and this morning i was late picking up my sons girlfriend and then taking them shopping so he could have his hair cut, i didnt have any time to cook anything and i didnt have any oopsies baked so just had to grab a chunk of cheese on my way out the door, they tucked into a granola yogurt and some mini muffins over coffee while i had my black tea... sigh, so by the time i got in i was ravenous!! but had all the meals to cook so had a gammon fry up for speed and it was lovely. i have been starving all evening though, had jelly and cream but still rumbling so had some ham, dont know whats got into me i am still hungry and rumbly.. not liking it lol

its half 1 now so i dare not go into the kichen and get anything else, my body clock is way off i am getting to sleep later and later and getting up late, i hate that!!

going to try to get some zzzz now night all xx

Hi Tracey, hope you slept well. Could you help me with oopsies? I've just tried mine for the first time, they came out lovely and risen, but within 5 mins were flat as pancakes! I used 3 eggs and 3oz cream cheese, salt and pepper. Beat cheese into yolks, then folded in stiff whites. Baked 30 mins at 150°. Any ideas where I went wrong?

You've made the Swiss roll haven't you smiley? Oopsies are exactly the same - they won't get any more risen than that. But pancakes is a bit too flat! Personally I cheat with a pinch of baking powder in the yolk mix.

Its always best to whisk the whites first until stiff the cream of tartar helps with that, that way there is no danger of any yolk on your whisk. Also i found another tip on one site that u should let cream cheese come to room temp, that way it comines better, i rarely remember to do this tho. I make mine flat in rounds like each being half a bap for burger, or one big rectangle which after its cooked i cut into bread slices. Mine doesnt really rise it bakes kind of as it is. I usually only do them for about 25 mins. Good luck with next lot xx

no fasting today feel a bit ill think im either getting the cold or bad allergy attack!

have a good day everyone!!!

No i use two xx i think the original recipe for revolution rolls that they came from was piled up to look like a bread roll then baked xx

Wow, you look fantastic in the photos, what a difference! Still haven't tried the oppsie rolls yet, :)

Thank you xx

had a surprise visit from my niece and her husban n three boys, oh wow i had forgotten how noisy n boisterous kids can be lol, lovely to see them tho.

hi all
feeling a bit low today, i had a swollen eye yesterday and so sure the problem was the allergy rather than a cold. the eye is sore and weepy today, lord knows what it is... grrr should be happy dont know whats got into me but something has thats for sure.

trying to do a fast today, well succeeding at the moment, all i have had so far is a thin slice of ham, i just dont think even the fasting is working well for me lately, nothing seems to break this pattern my body has got itself into. so depressing!! dont know why but feel some tears coming on soon...

B. thin slice of ham
L. nothing
D. chicken breast, cabbage, cauli

hoping that will be all

I really don't think you need to fast, honestly Stubbsey. I think giving it a few weeks eating regular meals and aiming for 1400 - 1500 calories a day might be worth doing. Fasting isn't for everyone, for some people it can just encourage their bodies to hold on to weight.

It's hard to say for sure as I'm not sure what weight you were when you started Atkins so I don't know how much you've lost over all, but I do think you need to set up one weekly weigh day and just stick to that. The worst thing is feeling demoralized by daily weighs.

Do also remember how far you've come. I'm definitely feeling losses slowing down since getting to around the 30bmi bracket

Hi, I have just looked at your pictures, you have come a hugh distance, well done. I echo what ML has said maybe the fasting is not working for you...sometimes we need to eat and our body is calling out for more food, if you look at scrumbles diary when she increases carbs and calories it does not affect her weight loss, maybe your body is calling out for a little break...good luck

I have to say that fasting did naff all to help my weight loss - all it did was make me miserable and more obsessed with food (especially bad carbs!) than I've ever been before. Not good.

Whereabouts are you in your Atkins journey? Have you moved into OWL and started climbing the carb ladder? Because if you haven't, I'd recommend that you do. In my experience, adding in a few more carbs and some different foods is more likely to produce weight loss than fasting will.

But I have to say that now you have so much less to lose, it is going to get harder. I'm 45 and peri-menopausal, and with only a stone and a half left to lose my body is putting up one hell of a fight to hang on to those fat stores. I can eat clean in moderate amounts and get absolutely nowhere for a couple of weeks, then suddenly I'll drop a few pounds, and that's been the pattern for a while now. My rate of loss has slowed to about 1lb a week (in fits and starts) so I guess I just have to be patient with it (not easy for me, I can tell you!:p).

I'd go with ML's suggested calorie range of 1400-1500 cals and maybe try keeping carbs between 25-30g per day and see what that does. You could add nuts or berries in small amounts to your diet if you haven't already.

Keep smiling! We're here for you xxx

i have been contemplating doing owl, i have got some almond meal in and really getting ready to try it, but honestly i usually eat between 1400 and 1600 cals daily, i probably go over 20g carb because i have more of the induction veg than the few cups allowed and even then my weight is stagnating. I do feel that maybe my body needs that rest from it, but i just dont want to go off plan.

i read in the old atkins answer that dr atkins recommended switching from atkins to low fat then back when the diets plateau off, i dont really want to do this. i also know i should be doing more excercise, last time i lost lots of weight on atkins it only really started moving when i was going to the gym regularly. i have just stuck to walking only really did the yoga once when i had said i was going to do it regularly, i honestly dont know where my times goes!!!

i honestly dont know what the answer is, my first week of fasting saw a really good loss, maybe i am just being impatient, but really want to break this cycle. I know it does get harder as we get older to lose it...

going to give it another week at fasting, i have done my first day, only one more to do, and introduce some nuts n berries or something. if that doesnt break it, i might have to try something else.

i guess since starting atkins i have lost around 20ish lbs, i had lost the previous weight over time on weight watchers, with the first ever stone being atkins. i did find the weight watchers worked for me but only when i was going to meetings, when i stopped them i didnt really lose anymore. then i put about a stone back on over the course of about 6 months. Restarted atkins and here i am.

B. one slice thin ham
D. 300g chicken breast fillet, cauli, cabbage, oxo
S. for later hard boiled egg

Agreed - i would go higher cals for a bit then maybe look at JUDDD so you can do very low cals on one day, then higher the next?

So you started Atkins on 30th August according to this diary and in 2 months you've lost about 20lbs?

That's 10lbs per month when the average is 7lbs a month. That's a really successful rate of loss. You haven't plateaued - Atkins defines that as no loss at all for 4 weeks. You only feel like you're not losing weight because you weigh really regularly and see the fluctuations. Atkins only recommends taking a break (ie doing the fat fast (1000 calories per day) or trying a different diet if you've been doing Atkins as he recommends - no fasts, no restriction but the 20g carb limit mostly from veg - for several months (like at least six) and then see loss slowing. Not after two months where you've had a really good average loss.

Pick a day. That day every week will be your weigh in day. On that day and only on that day come on here and post if you've lost that week and how much. You can weigh in between if you absolutely need to but the only weigh in that will count will be that one day every week. ok? Right now your rate of loss looks great to me, try and stop worrying.
