I'm trying to get my hands on a food directory so I can keep a better track of the syns, because google doesn't always hold the answers! I might see if I can find a new recipe book as well, I keep doing the same meals over and over (as you'll see!) and want to try something else

Yeah that's the idea, the benefits of being in a group without paying to be in a group! Am weighing on Saturdays, but it doesn't always happen every week. I was away this weekend so it didn't happen, will try and get there this Saturday. I have to go to Boots and use their machine because my bathroom scales aren't very consistent. What about you are you doing group weighing?
 
Yes go to group on a Monday,how much have you lost so far in how long? My scales are the same,make it up as they go along I'm sure lol x
 
Literally nothing, feeling really crap about it. I've been doing it about 6 weeks, and lost 2lb but then put a pound back on. So 1lb. It's really very disheartening. I need to be more regimented really, I think I thought just cutting down would be enough to make a difference but evidently it's not.
 
Aww don't get disheartened tho least ur trying and now noting it all down which helps tons. Xx
 
Thanks Clare :) I need to really commit to getting my syns lower I think. I go over a lot and when my mom did it (same height and weight as me) she had to limit herself to 6 syns to see a result. But I find it so hard to stay in 15 syns! I don't feel I ate a lot yesterday and was still over.

It's been a very repetitive week this week - saving money and effort by batch cooking, but it means we had 3 lots of Spaghetti Bolognese!

So it was all going really well Friday, Weetabix, Banana, Mug Shot... The usual... Then I was craving something sweet so I had an M&S Rocky Road Mini Bite - great only 2.5 syns! Until I lost count of how many I had :( Then I went to my Mom's, had a Snickers bar and a whole sharing bag of Minstrels. I knew the weekend wasn't going to be good because of various things so I was aiming for low-0 syns Friday :( Screwed myself over again.

Saturday morning weigh in, maintained again. Then the highlights of the weekend's eating were: scampi & chips, ice cream, rocky road sundae.....

So of course, as per every Monday, back on it today...
 
I don't know if I can master it to be honest! The rocky road bites were amazing, I just wish I'd stuck with one :( But they seem so small and harmless and main reason - I was BORED! I know it to be the case yet I still go ahead and do it anyway. But I find other people a real challenge, like they're all "Go on Hev, have one" and they're all having one and everyone thinks I can eat what I like and it doesn't matter cuz I'm "not fat", just makes it really hard :(
 
Hi Heather how you getting on? Didn't find time to update over the weekend...did okish at weigh in 3 off should of been more,ruined myself with copious amounts of wine Friday and Saturday :-/ oops x
 
Hi Clare, don't be too hard on yourself, you lost 3 pounds still! I've maintained for about a month now :( Yesterday was a bit of a disaster, it's hard grabbing things on the go and you think they're healthy but they're so many syns!

Hello! Sorry you are struggling :( I found this "Hot chocolate is 19 Syns on average (and up to a whopping 28 Syns for a Grande with whole milk) and that’s even before you’ve started adding whipped cream and marshmallows!".
You can't use your hexa against it as you already had most of that on your porridge :( it does help if you can though and would bring the syn count down, especially if you skip the cream and marshmallows.
2 Alpen Light bars are a hexb so that's good.
It is hard to grab stuff on the go- sometimes a salad is a safe bet with plenty of cold meat but watch out for dressings.
Wedges/oven chips are annoyingly high syn aren't they? Making sw chips is an annoyance for me as they take so long. I've found microwaving them (chipped) for around 8 minutes first, then crisping them up in the oven works well. You can put as much herb and spice as you like on too :)

Yeah 19 syns sounds a whole lot more likely! I need t oget my hands on a food directory. Normally I like their Mango & Passionfruit Cooler- I feel that must be fairly low in syns because it's just fruit juice and ice right? But again can't ever find it online... But it was cold on Monday so I wanted a hot drink! Maybe I'll do one step at a time, cut out the cream first then the marshmallows later....

Yesterday was a much better day, and today will hopefully be too!
