Take 2! My New IF Journey

Hey Emmster. Sorry for the delay in replying. I hope you had a good fast. It was my intention to stick to an eating window and i managed for 1 day but then i'm just done nothing for the rest of the week! Only gained a pound but need to re-evaluate what i'm doing now. I'm not enjoying IF at the moment and i feel like i'm spending way too much time thinking about it.... No idea what i will do in the coming few weeks but i really need to get on board with something as i don't want to get any heavier.

Just chiming in with some ideas, but why not reduce your window over time, so go from 10 hours to 9 hours etc and see if you can ease into it rather than just bang jump in at the dee pend, pretty much all the books advise against jumping in, but of course we all do it anyways

Completely forgot to get weighed this morning, although that might be a good thing as i didn't decide what i was going to do this week. I only had 1 good which was Monday and then it all went down hill really fast. I suspect tomorrow morning might be the shock i need to kick myself up the bum and get started properly..... Maybe, could be.... I keep saying this i know and given that i don't really believe myself i doubt anyone else will!

Okay then. I've had 2 good days.... Didn't want to post too soon in case it all went belly up! Sticking to an eating window and replacing 1 meal with a shake. I'm struggling with cravings and a bit of boredom because i'm working from home at the moment. What i really want to do is throw a massive toddler strop and eat everything not nailed to the ground..... But have to keep reminding myself that i'm not a child..... My stomach doesn't agree with me though!

2lbs off this week. Was hoping for a bit more so that it at least got me back to where i was before i put weight on but it wasn't to be. So basically for this week i have had an eating window that was anywhere from 8hours to 5hours depending on the day and what i've been doing. For the most part i have not been having anything other than black coffee until 2 or 3pm and then i've been having a meal replacement shake (atkins at the moment because its higher protein and not many carbs) and then a meal in the evening and then before bed i've been having a kitkat and a coffee. My daily calorie intake has been between 1100 and 1400 through the week and i won't be going higher than 1500 on weekends for the most part, although it depends on what i'm doing on the weekends.

Hopefully i'll be able to keep this up for this coming week. I may even add some exercise in as well..... Maybe.... Possibly :)

Thanks Canadian.

Not stuck to the plan today as i was at the hospital this morning. My partner always take the day off work when i have my hospital apps so we always go for some lunch afterwards so my window moved from 2-8 to 12.30-8.30 but i'd basically eaten all my calories in the 2 meals i've had. I'm missing my coffee and kitkat. Still its only once. I'm more impressed with the fact that i've only gone 6 cals over my maximum target on MFP. Very impressed given i had a full English breakfast for dinner. Mind you i guess it depends on how accurate MFP is since the place where we ate was just a cafe and obviously none of the calories were listed on the menu..... And i've just this second realised that i've forgotten to include the small latte i had! So yes i've gone over my calories! Done no real exercise today so will have to try and make up for that tomorrow. Hopefully as long as i get back on track tomorrow there won't be much damage from today.

Back on track today and although i was going to do 16/8 and open my window at 2pm due to the amount of exercise i had done i just wasn't hungry so i didn't eat until tea time which was just after 6pm and then i closed my window at 10pm so i ended up with a 4 hour window but still managed to get plenty in for those 4hours. At the moment due to my overeating yesterday as well as at the weekend my cals average out at 1500 a day which i think is too high at the moment but hopefully that will get lower as the week continues. I'm also hoping the extra exercise will help.

I'm also back on the exercise wagon today. I started a beginners 5k plan that i found in this months Women's Running, i did 3 x 10min bursts of brisk walking on my treadmill, climbed 15 flights of stairs and 20 squats. Now i must admit i didn't go down as far i should have done for the squats but last time i did them i was in so much pain getting up and down i thought i was going to have to learn to pee standing up! Now i just have to keep the momentum going.

So exercise plan for tomorrow is same again really. Day 2 of the 5K programme, 3 or 4 short bursts of brisk walking and 25 squats. Fingers crossed :)

Thanks Emmster.

Not had a good day food wise today. My consumption has come in at just under 2000 cals but have managed to keep my exercise up. Fingers crossed i'll be able to stick to my window tomorrow. Today's exercise consisted of an hour long walk, followed by Day three of my 5k run/walk programme, followed by 15mins brisk walk.

I'm heading into the office tomorrow and i must say i'm quite unhappy about it as it will limit the amount of exercise i get to do. I won't get time to leave the office to do any walking during a lunch break as i have to leave early for a doctors appointment. Need to keep the exercise up in the hopes it will counter act the bad food day. Hopefully this won't effect my weigh in too much. Fingers crossed.

Well i was right. I STS this week. At least it wasn't a gain, i was forced to weigh in slightly earlier than i normally do so that might have made a difference. I had been quiye hopefully especially given that i felt slimmer. Oh well, back to it tomorrow.

This morning i discovered something interesting. I always have takeout on a Saturday night and then i always get weighed on the Sunday morning again. Not really sure why... I guess i just like to see what damage has been done. Anyway given that its usually either a Chinese or pizza i usually discover that i've gained a couple of pounds the following day, maybe even sometimes 3. When i weighed in this morning i was exactly the same as i had been Saturday! That is unheard of! Makes me wonder if i had lost a little bit and the fact that i was weighing in earlier than normally had made a difference? Possibly, maybe, who knows... I'm hopeful :)

Well i've had a supper successful day today :)

Yesterday i re-read Brad Pilon's Eat, Stop, Eat and decided to try it. I stopped eating at 6.15pm yesterday and started eating again at 6.15pm today. Easiest fast i've done in a long time. Only problem i've had is i can feel acid reflux and its not yet gone away. But who cares! I did a successful fast!!!! Woohoo.

I've also been an exercise demon today. According to my Fitbit i've walked nearly 9miles today, 6.63 of those miles i did on the treadmill. I only wanted to do 5miles a day but once i got started i couldn't stop! I also did some kettlebell swings and lunges, 25 squats and 10mins of the vibration plate.

Just need to keep an eye on the stomach acid. Wonder if i should change the time i take my suppressant tablet?
