Texty's Back - Plain and Simple

Hi texty,

Just read through your thread as it's been a while since I've been on track! Fantastic news your now a Nanna and glad to hear both mother and baby are doing well. Fingers crossed for the jaundice test, don't get me started on the NHS sometimes there a god send other times they are useless - and my sister in law works for them!!!

Take care x

Hi Minnie and welcome hun - I promise I do talk food lol ive just been a bit pre occupied this week hehe. Thanks hun yes I know I kind of know about the NHS in a roundabout way cos of my job. I do have to say they were faultless with Andreas treatment during her delivery and stay.

Hopefully my thread will help you just give a shout if you need help etc x

Very cute :)
Oliver had jaundice after he was born and we was back and forth to the hospital a lot, but it soon went x

Hi ladies not been in long. Spent the day at Andreas, I did all her washing cleaning etc, and of course got lots of cuddles from Jackson. The midwife came to see them both and she is over the moon with his progress, he has only lost 20grams in weight so not even an ounce, ( she reckons she is feeding him clotted cream lol)

She had to to another jaundice test as he is still a little yellow, if he has it he will have to go in again overnight! She rang to say she would have to come back and re do it cos the lab has messed up the one she put in this afternoon grrrrrrrrrrrrr useless, poor little mites foot is gonna be so sore

Great re feeding, must be good juice ;-)

Have they suggested laying him or holding him near a window or patio door, in sunlight if possible? Obviously not directly in the sun if its hot.
If the room is warm enough, you can strip him off and lay him on a towel so as much skin is exposed as possible for about fifteen mins, a couple of times a day.

I was sitting with him on my knee in the window when the midwife came today and she said Ah mam knows best lol natural daylight works wonders. They had him lying starkers whilst the midwife was there lol shes not convinced he will need to be admitted but just taking precautions x

Wonder if he can outdo Millie and sleep through the entire first hairwash and bath! literally didn't wake at all! (she was awake when I undressed her but fell asleep as the water touched her hair lol)

Lol quite possibly he wasn't phased yesterday by the midwife stripping him to check him over. His little peg dropped off yesterday too that's really quick x

Good morning lovely! Gorgeous pic of Jackson yesterday :) and yay to getting more cuddles today and maybe bathing him. It's so llovely you have this time off work to spend with your family hun xx

I'm glad I have almost 4 weeks off hun I am going to suggest they try to manage over the weekend as I don't want them becoming too dependant on me! I will be babysitting on Monday for the funeral so will get snuggle times yayyy x

Yes easier once that's not in the way when bathing and nappy changing and one less thing for them to contend with.

Yes, you're on hand if they really need you but could rely on you too much if you're just available 24/7. Getting into a routine early makes things easier in the long run. Even though my daughter is living here, I still made sure not to just do everything for her all the time. Seems mean but she needed to learn for herself, now she's a very confident Mum.
You'll need time to catch up with your own jobs and some 'you time' too hun x

Evening Sheila :), hope your well hun. How is your little prince doing ? I'm loving his pics, he's looking gorgeous :p xx
