Just diving in to wave my pom poms and cheer you on for your stone, good luck! You sound very happy at the minute and it's lovely to see! Sorry I don't post much, I struggle to keep up with you chatty ladies lol, yet I'm standing I the sidelines cheering you on nonetheless! Hope you have a lovely Mother's Day xxx

I went through the same thing last year wanting a bike, I hired on for an hour along the prom omg when I first set off I was like something not right , wobbling all over the place if anyone came within 4 feet of me I was panicing I was going to bang into them, within 10-15 mins I had settled down but still didn't like anyone near me, I hired one a couple of times after that and was much better , so I started to want one of my own but I hadn't been in the roads so was unsure how I would be wiv traffic passing near me , so that was what held me back and still is , If I could cycle from my house without in countering traffic I would definetly get one , Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins

Yep, that pretty much sums it up for me too. Still want one to ride around with the kids tho, we back onto allotments and a field, so could still ride around without traffic, at least until I gain confidence. I hadn't even thought of checking Argos, that's a brilliant deal, Bubble!

Ok girls, don't laugh... I look like a bruised banana, I have cuts grazes bruising everywhere, you name it I have it! Loved every minute of it, my kids have not giggled so much in a long time, but boy am i suffering... and the result... I can't ride!
I have sore bum from saddle but think it all counts as body magic:D Will keep trying have 8 weeks to master it for centreparcs.

Driving in the road? oh no no no chance! parks and alleys are as far as I go...

I will be on it again in the garden tomorrow. Maybe without the audience I'll get somewhere. I just can not get the balance and if I do get my second foot on I paddle backwards! Whats that about? There were a few swear words I must admit. ooops

You have made me chuckle. I had a sore bum for days. Apparently you need a gel seat or padded pants! Good luck with it. Keep persevering, you will be ready for Le tour before you know it!

No :( my dad left when I was 4 and my mum was never active so my childhood wasn't conducive to learning things.

My boyfriend took it upon himself to teach me about 18 months ago but his bike was too big so I didn't really get anywhere. I went on it twice and was panicked both times!

I now have my own (junior!!) bike and am determined to learn before my next holiday. I'd love to be able to cycle around San Francisco and Central Park so learning is a big goal of mine :)

Oh that's funny , peddle backwards not come across that before,
Oh yea I forgot about the saddle , gosh it goes numb after a while lol,
As for riding a bike as a kid , yea I did but it's been over 30 years , I was wobbly at first but did get the balance bk and went for a 20 mile ride but it was all along the prom , hence no traffic
