The diary of a (not so-Little)Sausage

It was super tasty :)

Have a GREAT vacation, Pommette! xx

I decided to do something slightly different with my salad today. I mixed 3 tbsp of my salad dressing in to a tub of quark and put a third of that on my salad instead of 2 tbsp of dressing, which has halved the syns to 2! Feel like a genius.

Breakfast:
2 bananas, satsuma, Activia snackpot
2 coffees with skimmed milk (1 syn)

Peppermint tea

Lunch:
Rice salad (spinach leaves, baby tomatoes, cucumber, brown rice with beans, quark/salad dressing - 2 syns)

Peppermint tea
Baby tomatoes
Special K mini breaks packet (5 syns)

Supper:
Poached salmon with 2 poached eggs on top, boiled new potatoes and steamed veg (broccoli, carrots, asparagus). 3 Laughing Cow deli light squares (HEa)
Quark with White chocolate options (2 syns)
Fibre Plus bar (HEb)

Total syns: 10

0.5lb on tonight. Absolutely gutted.

Same as. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and carry on being fabulous. It WILL all come good. It's just a blip. I know it feels rubbish when you do have a gain. But I think we all have to accept that even if we were at an ideal weight, it would fluctuate. We only notice because we're obsessives! :) xx

That looks a yummy day's food LS, sorry that you were cross about the tiny gain, can understand why. The thing is, you really have SW nailed, you've done so well, you'll probably have a 'whoosh' next week to make up for it! x

Thanks, Gail :)
I am focussing 100% this week so hopefully it'll all come off! X

Haven't really felt like eating much today. Just haven't been hungry and I'm sure that's just work stress.
I am, however, on my second vodka, so I have a feeling I'll go over my syns today. I don't really feel that bad though - have kept them low all week and have been pretty good today.

How many syns in a vodka then?

Apparently 2.5 per 35 ml! I'm on my third, and I'll estimate 3 per drink. Already at 9 syns for vodka alone, and may end up having a couple more. I still am nowhere near my syns for the week, so should be ok if I limit syns over the weekend.

You ok, Pinkie? You seem to have been really quiet! Xx

Ooh you down the pub then? So that's 6 possible vodkas a day you could have? Way better deal than wine isn't it. A vodka is 1 old WW point btw. Bit of useless trivia there for you. :)

I dunno, I think you have to have some slack somewhere. So long as you put some control around it. Years ago when I did WW, I would stay 4 points under every day. Then every other Saturday, if Wall were at home, I'd not have any breakfast, drink vodka (didn't bother counting them), and then a curry in the evening. I figured that on those occasions I wanted a drink and a curry. I made the effort by giving up cider, and being supergood the rest of the time. I lost weight too. But I'm the same, get wrapped in a little tug of war guilt in my conscience. I'm very much enjoying not drinking, which really is quite a stunning achievement for me. That said, I had 2 glasses of Rioja last Saturday when I made the tapas (which was fab, I meant to thank you for those recipes, they were delish). But yeah, the wine went beautifully with the food and I drank it for that purpose rather than for the alcofrol. It's like I'm growing up or something. :)

I'm fine though thanks for asking. Life just all gets so tiring every so often. Star week this week got me a bit down in the dumps, but a week off will be a welcome break and a lovely boost. And I'm so excited to be spending a whole week with my wee man.

Sorry, I've blethered on a bit on your status.... What are you up to this weekend then?

Aaww, I know that feeling. * week has just ended for me, lasting longer than usual and it really gets me down. I was listening to Tim McGraw this afternoon and suddenly got tearful! Most unlike me.

So glad the tapas was good! As for the alcohol, I hardly ever drink but now it does make me feel guilty. I do feel that I have to justify it - like this evening; I've been really good all week, and have not used anywhere near even 10 syns a day. So I know I can have a few drinks and not feel TOO bad! Plus, I'll be extra good the rest of the weekend.

Hope you have a lovely weekend and week with your wee boy! Yay! Xx

Yay for the vodka - I think I'll join you cheers ;) No feeling guilty please, you are always so good x

Can I just say your diary is so flipping good. Some of the meals you have made sound gorgeous. You know what a sucker I am for the omelette (and smoked salmon) so I HAVE to try your omelettey/quichey creation.

Slightly sore head this morning! I ended up having 6!! Oh my. That I will estimate as 18 syns, so I wasn't too far over. An if I count the previous low syn days, I'm looking ok for the week. I hope.

That quichey thing was delicious! Am thinking of making something similar this weekend, maybe with a different filling.

Hope you're awesome as ever, Red! Xx

Thanks for your kind & helpful words on my diary Little Sausage, have read through some of yours and feel really encouraged and hopeful. Loving the sound of that quichey thing too (minus salmon as I am veggie!).

Ooh, you should definitely try it! And you can put anything in it! I'm planning on doing it again this weekend with some Mediterranean roasted veg! Glad you've ha a good read. I found that reading people's diaries here really helped. Especially as my weight loss has been a lot slower than others here. But, I look at the numbers and see that 23lb is a lot! And I take heart from the fact that it is working and I am, very slowly, starting to notice a difference. My mum said that this week it has been really noticeable, so maybe I've passed that first barrier where it is easier to notice. And it just spurs me on even more! Xx

That's brilliant LS, and 23lbs is loads, you've done so well! I've only got 19.5lbs to go to catch you up! :D x

So, I'm not usually a mid-week weigher. I am usually quite good about not stepping on the scales until I weigh in at group. But, this morning after breakfast something made me jump on and, apparently I've lost almost 4.5lb since Monday. I am very pleased, although I do know not to take it as gospel. All shall be revealed on Monday, and I have my fingers crossed! That would mean that I get my 2 stone award, and maybe my club 10. Who knows!?

Xx

Thanks, guys! And nice to see you here, Allie - I stalk your thread!

Can't wait for the Bank Hols! I'm quite excited about a cooking day with a young SWer (daughter of a friend of mine) who has been struggling as she has no support at home. She's only 14, so doesn't really have much control over the shopping and cooking. But, if we cook some things she can have in the freezer, and I can give her some recipes, it may do us both some good! Will be a good opportunity to do the Smash pizza for lunch, and stock her up on couscous and stuff.

Also, my bestest buddy from Uni is home from 6 months in Afghanistan and he has bought tickets for Eric Clapton at the RAH for us to go together! Yay! That is May 23, and I just can't wait to see him :) He lives in Yorkshire so we don't get much of a chance. Plus, if I've lost a noticeable amount of weight that'd be a bonus!

Xx
