The really slow loss team!

He's rolled home shitfaced. He hasn't answered his phone because he's lost it. I'm certain he's not far off alcoholic poisoning. I don't know how he found his way home, because he couldn't walk or speak. I've put him to bed and I dread him chucking up on my brand new carpet ... Put a bowl up there. I know he's lost a friend and I'm desperately sympathetic - but this won't bring him back. He has to drive to work tomorrow morning - he'll still be drunk

Glad he's home safe. I hope he understands how you're feeling once he's a little more sober. I hate when hubby does it to me. I start imagining all sorts. He just thinks I am a diva! X

How are things this morning meadow ?

Congratulations Jen I would take 0.5lb a week weight loss without a doubt

Lesley, hope the hubby is (relatively) ok this morning. Did he make it into work?

Well done Jen - any loss, even half a pound, is better than a STS or a gain my lovely :D

Commiserations Meadow :( I hope he has managed to drag himself out of his pit and get off to work. It's been many years since Al has done anything like that - and the last time he did I was with him and probably as p*ssed too so I couldn't really complain  Still, at least he got home eventually and was safe, but I would have been less than amused too  Hope he didn't chuck on your new carpet, otherwise he's in even deeper doo doo

les try not to tell him off too much! i know you were worried etc but i am sure he had to deal with his loss in his own way, and i hope he has a hang over today!!

Les how is he today? Did he make it to work? X

Half a pound off....better off than on!

Thanks guys. He woke up about 1.30 and was quite coherent. No vomit! Mind you, I did have some of the off cuts from the new carpet next to the bed underneath the bowl :D
He was awake again at 3 and quite chipper then my alarm went off at 6.50. After my shower he got up and got ready and went to work, I was amazed. He feels like poop, though. I do understand, I haven't shouted at him, just gently suggested that his drinking session might have put himself in danger. I have no idea how he got home , his coat is covered in mud, probably get falling over
Somebody's nicked his phone, they've made calls on it and the cheeky bar stewards were on t'internet with it for an hour at about 9pm. Bill's not too bad, £28, he can chalk it up to experience. The sim is dead now and if they put another sim in, from whatever network, Vodafone will fry the phone and it won't work at all.
But thanks for your concern, he's fine if a little sore headed today :D

Well done! Just noticed you are on Slim Fast. I have recently switched to a hybrid version of it...... do you use the SF forum at all?

Hiya I'm actually doin SW. I tried slinfast last autumn and hated it lol. The only good thing was that it seems to have taught me to eat less food. Rather than stuffing myself all day, I tend just to eat at meal times now. :) couldn't stick to it!! Xxx

Greedyguts I'm surprised they're scanning you, it must be an area thing cos here they won't scan when they think it's pcos as they say the cysts don't always show up and the scans have proved to be unreliable and they diagnose more on symptoms :/ I've been told that every time I've asked about it, probably to do with saving bloody money-tight gits lol. I hope you get some answers though hun x[/QUOTE]

I don't know much about it. Just got my appointment thru for 19 march. Quicker than I thought...

I have a dark shadow on my upper lip which looks like 5 o clock shadow :-( doc agrees that its not hair (as I spend most my life removing it with cream). He said it wasn't noticeable til I pointed it out so I decided to ask the OH if he had noticed. He said there's nowt there. I have hairy arms which I bleach and hair elsewhere which really depresses me. He asked me other stuff and decided it could poss be PCOS :-(

I didn't realise it was so common.

Our nhs trust is really good for everything really!!

I got diagnosed with it around 6 years ago as I came off the pill to try for a baby and just wasn't having periods and piled about 1.5 stone on almost overnight. I have only had regular periods when on the pill. The doctor explained that losing weight is beneficial to ease symptoms of pcos and to help periods but as its harder to lose weight while having it its a bit of a catch 22. My periods only returned recently after losing almost 2 and a half stone and they seem to be regulating but I also take herbal supplements.
My weight seems to come off easier when I'm having periods.

I'm not on the pill anymore. First time in 17 years I'm not taking contraception. I wasn't planning on having children. Did you manage to have children xxx

Hi Felicity, Latte, Lou, Lisa, Lesley, Greedyguts and anyone I have missed out!

Sorry I have not posted for ages. Two weeks ago this Saturday, my car packed up on the motorway (my son was driving it) and I had to get it scrapped. Only the week before we had to get a new battery for his car and what with missing work to wait in for a mechanic I was down on my luck and money, so to have this happen to my car after only having it two months made me so fed up!!!!!

It set me off on a train of negativity and worry about finances etc that losing weight (or not as seems to be the case) was the last thing I needed or cared about.

I haven't gained any weight but have not been 100% either.

I have checked in to read the thread and know that some of you have been having a rough time lately. Big hugs to you all.

It is strange that so many of you girls have been diagnosed with PCOS too? There has to be a connection.

Lesley, hope your hubby has recovered by now.

Nice to see ya back Flabulous :) its amazing what life can throw at you!! Get back on track and come here for support :) xxx

Nice to see you back fabulous x sorry you've had a rubbish time. We're here to support you hun x

Greedyguts- I have 3 kids and only struggled to get caught with the one I actively tried for, my middle one. Took 3 years to get her, have also suffered 2 unsuccessful pregnancies but that ws nothing to do with pcos just bad luck. So I don't struggle to actually get caught except that one time which is weird. Bug I blame the stress of trying stopping my periods altogether. I have a weird shadow on top lip too but not hair it's pigmentation it gets darker when I have a tan I got it while pregnant with middle child and it's never gone how weird! On the scan thing I hope I didn't come across bad, what I meant to say was if you go for a scan and there no cysts that doesn't mean you don't have it hun they just may not show up x x

My god period from hell again. Think that's why I'm ill. Had chippy and chocolate today I can't help it when I'm like this and chippy was vile I couldn't taste it and all I could taste was grease. Put me right off. I can't eat fatty food anymore makes me vomit. Salmon tomorrow with lots of veg I must try to rein this in a bit!

Ah-ha... your profile says Slim Fast, that's what threw me.

I packed up SW 3 weeks ago after spending the past 3 months losing and regaining the same half a stone :( I am hoping to have lost it for good this week as I am going great guns on SF (so far).

I know what you mean about it teaching not to eat so much - I think half my problem on SW was being told you can eat as much superfree as you like..... but it has calories and enough of it will make you gain weight!

Funnily enough, even though I am only eating one meal a day now I am not at all hungry on SF, but seemed to be permanently so on SW........ funny how different strokes suit different folks huh?

Anyway, personally I don't think it matters what plan you are following as long as you are happy and it works for you :)

Good luck to us all :D

Just nipping in quick to report a 1.8lb loss. At last I have my one stone sticky back after losing in it in December and trying to get it back ever since!

Off forum for the weekend, good luck to you all - stay well and be happy.
