I have messed up today as I thought I was doing red then realised after I had my cup of super speedy soup it is ful of beans and had to switch to EE which means I have had to syn my alpen light as a I had wholemeal roll for lunch so no alpen light to look forward to later

I am going to update my diary as not be able to the last few days
 
Aww guys you're all so lovely to each other, it's really great to be able to log on to here and see all the tips and advice, and also, if I'm totally honest, to see that other people are finding it hard too - it's nice to feel you're not on your own with this when everyone around you seems to be able to eat what they like without gaining a pound! :eek: Grr!

Anyway, I've had a good week this week (lost 1.5lb), but that was after I put on last week for no real apparent reason...I had a bit too many syns, but I'm never 100% perfect any week - and I say that not to make people hate me (I feel for you, people who have to be on plan absolutely all the time, and am therefore doubly in awe when you come in with losses :bighug:) but just to show that we all have our ways of making the plan work for us, but we'll all get there in the end.


So I'm really happy to see that 1.5 come off this week, but after last week, it's actually a 0.5lb loss, so am not getting complacent. Will go back to planning my food, and not overdoing the syns. As ever, it's a fine balance.


Did you guys do any Xmas targets in group this week?:xmascheers: We all had stickers and had to put them on a board!! It's 12 weeks, so I said I'll try and get to target, if I lose 1lb a week, but after my run of 1/2lb and last week's gain, it's by no means a sure bet!!! Anyone else want to do a kind of countdown with me? :rolleyes:

Anyway, onwards and downwards, tortoise team! We can all do it! :) xXx

Well done - your mojo sounds as though it's back on the up again. Go for it girl. Don't know how old you are but getting below 9 st will be tough if you're in the older generation. I'm stopping witha BMI above 25 as the saggy skin is already causing this 56 year tortoise a few problems!

Xmas
Hevs (Funcurls) and I have been doing a challenge to get to target. She made it but wants to loose another 7 lbs, I didn't quite get there. As a few of the others in out little group didn't either, we'll be doing a Xmas one too to get the rest of us there. We're a reet friendly bunch and there is usually a whole load of banter so anyone who wants to join our tortoise challenge will be more than welcome. I'll post the link once she's set it up!
 
Just reporting in with my official WI result. 3.5lbs on. Well, that's just marvelous! :eek:p

I'm so in the right frame of mind now though. Next week the lots coming off!

Back again!!

Went for a 1.5hr walk around the village. I`m sure some of the locals are beginning to question my sanity (!)
Would have posted earlier but took a wrong turn and got a bit lost. Took nearly 20 mins to get to somewhere familiar. Had OH on the mobile wondering where I was!! (didn`t know he cared!!lol)

Had chicken and noodles for dinner & there`s enough left over for tomorrow`s lunch (that was planned!). Can manage to be organised for a while before it goes off track again. Gonna try to keep my mind focused!!

This seems to be turning into some sort of group therapy!!
Just gotta make sure I drink enough water he!he! :)
 
hi all, i have had another100% on plan day, i have found actually eating my breakfast in a morning is stopping me being so hungry through the day, im loving porridge and banana at the minute yummy, the only problem is today i have only had 1 syn :/ this is most unlike me but i have had huuuuuge meals used both my healthy extras and done these first its now gone 10 and i want to go to bed and im not at all hungry as i just had my 2nd healthy extra b and 2 shape 0% yogurts, am i ok being low on syns today as i did have a mahoooosive pig out tuesday or should i ram a couple of cookies down my neck before bed?
 
Forgot to say, Pommette I`m 51. Grandma to 5 - hence the name.

But young at heart. No intention of growing old gracefully :D

I'm 52 Annie. Grandma to nobody, although step-Grandma to one.

I ride an 1100cc motorcycle, wear leather and New Rock boots. On the other hand I can be as "straight" as you like too!

I don`t have a motorbike but have rediscovered I`ve got legs!!
Taken to wearing short skirts & dresses with tights or leggings.

Much to my mother`s digust :D She "thinks" I`m setting a bad example. At the same age as I am now she was wearing crimpelene and a girdle AARRRGGGHH!!

My hair went white at a very early age and until last year I coloured it. Not anymore, now there`s shoulder length white hair to go with the skirts :D:D

beans you can have on red cant you ?
 
No beans are synned on Red days unless you use them as a healthy extra and the amounts arent that great. IE 142g of baked beans

It specifically says the super speedy soup is suitable for Green or EE days

Not great, but better than expected after a slightly synful birthday meal with hubs on Wednesday which would usually mean a STS or even a gain, so I am taking it and running :bolt::bolt:

I am trying to go back to basics which I think is working but it is difficult. Especially as I do think I have been in denial about the amount of syns I have been eating.

I have realised this morning that the only support and advice I get is here. As my consultant has not contacted me once in 12 weeks or ask how I am or give advice other then dropping syns. I go get weighed listen to the talk then go and that is it. There is no support there at all which is really sad.
My husband supports me of course and cooks whatever I ask for but it would be nice if my consultant took an interest.

I love this forum as everyone is so kind, non-judgemental and willing to help if and where they can.

What I do find disappointing is the fact that the quality of support from consultants seems to vary so much :( I have read about good, bad, and downright horrible ones since joining this forum. Could youperhaps look for another group and see if this helps?

I am a "home aloner" so I don't have a consultant - but I have access to many wonderful "consultants" here with great knowledge, insight, and understanding so I don't feel I am missing out at all :)

We will all be here for you - if for nothing else than to remind you that you are not alone in your tortoise journey. Some get lucky and the weight seems to come off as easily as it went on, but some of us have to work that bit harder for our results..........HOWEVER we will all get there in the end if the will is there :)

I really feel for you. It must be a bit disheartening feeling that you`re not supported in group.

I must admit that as far as I`m concerned my consultant can walk on water. She is so enthusiastic and supportive to everyone. Last month, when she was on holiday we had a stand in. It was then that I got to see how other consultants are. I know it wasn`t her group but I felt she was just going through the motions. The following week I just weighed in and left. It was so different when Sandra returned.

We`re all here for you Latte and we do it for free!!:D
 
oh latte :( i agree with the other ladies, you should definitely think about switching to another group even if its further away, or at a time which isnt as convenient because i switched groups and i have never looked back, i have missed 3 weeks since may and thats been due to an op, being on holiday and once cos i was ill. i feel like i have to tell her when im off cos i feel like she cares, shes so enthusiastic and if i ever text she replies, and if ive had a bad week i get texts of encouragement through the week from her, shes fun and has lost lots of weight and stayed slim- i think im a little bit in love with her hahahahaha. seriously though, a good consultant really can make the difference between losing weight and not. im pleased you are starting from scratch latte, its the best thing to do when youve lost your way with it and are putting on without knowing why, i bet you have a fab loss next week. i am struggling a bit today but im determined not to give in, ive used all my healthy extras and already had 4 syns i think ill have to have some alpen lights soon, which is 6 syns for 2 so ive had my max that im allowing myself today, grrr, i dont think its helped that ive cooked pizza for everyone else and i had haddock and veg which was nice but full of bones (even though it said boned) and it put me off :( so im quite hungry still. i have bacon and eggs in the fridge so i could make a quiche i suppose. i WILL DO THIS!! im not giving in!! im determined not to lose it this weekend like every other weekend. anyone got any good tips for not nit picking? other than tying my hands up and taping my mouth shut?
