Third Time Lucky...!

OMG, it is so NOT pointless!!! You will notice such an unbelievable difference when you start.
You go girl!!!! :D

That's silly. You will sweat like mad. Calories burned! And if the kettlebell thread is anything to go by, the inches will melt off!

They are for strength training but that doesn't mean that they're pointless! And it doesn't mean that they can't be incorporated into a good cardio workout either. Everything recommends that people wanting to lose weight do strength training alongside cardio so that they're losing fat but also working on the muscles, which increases your metabolism, will give you a more toned look etc. What he might mean is that you might be toning your muscles but while there's still excess fat there it won't really be noticeable, though you will lose inches too which is obviously good. But, the way I see it is. Would I rather start now so that I'm toning the muscles under my fat so that when the fat comes off, I already look more toned? Or would I prefer to wait til the fat is off, looking flabby still and then start trying to tone up? Either way, the fat will be off at the same point but I won't have to then spend months working on toning so I'll look better sooner. That's the way I see it anyway.

Well, just did kettleworx cardio- wow! You wouldn't think swinging a bell around would make you sweat so much! My legs are killing and I actually enjoyed it!

I have never measured myself but am going to do that as it will be brill to see measurement losses as well as weight!

Thought the cal burn would be higher but calculated it and it was about 242 for the 25 mins- still good tho!

Dinner tonight is lamb bites with a Moroccan cous cous and salad and mint dressing - reduced at Asda for 45p!

Let us know what you think of it!

Ooh we cross posted! Glad you enjoyed it, Wk1 cardio is hard work, it's not all so hard though, honest! I had a bit of a love hate relationship with it! How did you calculate your calorie burn? Definitely do measurements! I've lost 6.5 inches in 2 weeks doing it!!

Nope, wouldn't agree with that, that gives me 304 which isn't right according to my HRM. Nevermind the fact that the three burn calories differently! My HRM says that I burn 600-630 during Cardio, 370-390 during Core and 450-480 for Resistance. So even if I just used that for core, it's 65-85 calories out. I think the only way to really know is if you have a HRM but you could always use that figure as an estimate I guess, doesn't matter that much really.

I just put mine in as 200. Just in case I decide I am hungry and wanna eat a bit extra. Wouldn't be going way over then accidentally, I think.

I might just put it as 300 each time - I don't really want to eat back all my cals anyway do that'll help!

I'm aching so much this morning!

Ill do core tomorrow and have Friday off but then I'm home for the weekend - do u think it'll be ok to leave the next one until monday?

I had a bit f a binge last night :(

I just can't trust myself to have chocolate in the cupboard so am gonna have to stop buying it!

In the efforts of saving money, I was buying multi packs of diet coke cans but I also can't trust myself to have one a day so am now allowing myself one from the shop on each of the 3 days that I work.

Bit pathetic that I have to do this with coke and chocolate!

Do what you need to to do hun. Not pathetic at all, I'm the same with chocolate in the house. I sometimes buy 2 finger kitkats cos they are a good low cal treat, especially in the evening. But, I tend to be good the first night, then eat the lot in one go after that!!! :)

Should be okay to do the next on monday.

I used to be the same. I hate when my sister buys pringles. I can't help myself!

I was watching one of these weight loss shows recently and it showed how a "normal persons" brain works and how an overweight persons works when eating food. Stuff like burgers, chocolates. When the normal person eats it, brain activity showed the pleasure centre is activated too, but is satisfied with a lot less of it than an overweight persons. It's not just gonna change overnight :) I think making healthier changes to our diets helps though. I know since I've started losing weight, most crisps I'm not a big fan of anymore even though I used to get through bags each day. A lot of unhealthy food like fried chicken from take aways and pizza I have gone off. I hate pasta smothered in cheese now. I've gone off mayo a lot. Changes happen, but it will be gradual :)

I agree, it's not pathetic! It's hard to stay away from those things when you're calorie counting, is like you're even more drawn to them! Is why I had to seriously think about whether I was going to buy a pack of the mini malteaster bunnies. In the end I did because you can't buy them that size individually and I just won't keep them where they're just there next to me, at hand for when I wanna munch!

Been ok with food today - had some choc but still under cals.

Had a horrible evening again with my house 'mates'. I got home and we had all planned a night out I sort things out. When I got home they ha decided to cancel the night out which everyone could go to and change to tomorrow even tho I had said I can't do tomorrow.

I went to bed, angry, upset, lonely. They have all just gone out! With the girls next door too ( the ones who went behind our backs to take our place in the house next year).

Disgusted with them all.

So I would usually turn to the choc but managed not to!

Did get some diet coke though! I am addicted - completely. But, I need to take it one thing at a time and its deffo not a healthy drink but it seems to calm me! Haha, so I'd I have a glass of that instead of loads of biscuits then that's got to be better?!

Will deal with that coke addiction when I've lost more weight!

Am aching so much today from the kettlebells! I have tomorrow off uni and work so will be doing kettlebells in the morning - scared as I'm aching so much!!
