Tinytootz rant-and-involve-some-food diary

Got myself in a dreadful state. I'm my own worst enemy sometimes. Remembered the Tracy Chapman song I love - Fast Car, so whacked it in youtube, and it's made me get ever so upset.

On my birthday I'm visiting my nanas grave. She died a couple of years ago now, but she was the best person on the planet. I didn't go to the funeral, I couldn't cope with it, and I haven't been able to cope ever since. Dave thinks going will bring me some closure, but the very idea makes me feel sick. I find it so sad that I am no longer anyones grand-daughter. There's always a card missing each birthday and christmas, and it hurts so much. I can't talk to mum about it, as she is still very upset about nana and papa dying, as it was in quick succession. But it rears its ugly head every so often, and leaves me on the floor in a puddle. I went through a phase of having nightmares about her, and it was then that the trip to Scotland was organised. I've warned him that I will be in a state, and that there is nothing I can do about it, but I'm scared I will have a breakdown. I'm in a state about it now and I ain't even there!

The main reason I started SW was to make nana proud. When she died I was large, so I kinda hoped she would be looking down and seeing how I am doing.

*mental note* Do not listen to sad songs when you are home alone and feeling vulnerable!

Yippee. We discovered last night that the cat AND dog have fleas. Smashing. So I've spent all night itching, and all day so far trying to use flea powder, waiting for OH to bring some spot-on stuff back from work. It is so tempting to just go f**k it and eat what I like, but I am trying to be strong. Pretty sure I'll gain on Tuesday, which will bum me out big style. And I swear I'm allergic to flea powder, I can't stop sneezing!

Day 51: 10/7/11

Well, I've gone over the syns for the week. But I need to have some syns anyway so I'll try and keep them as low as possible.

Weetabix - HE
Milk - HE

Pasta pack with spring onions and salad, unless it has gone funky.

Strawberries
Grapes
Activia
Blueberries

Turkey jambalaya. Only synned bit is chorizo, 100g in the recipe, 2.5 syns per 28g so 9 in the whole thing, 4.5 my bit (if I eat half). And plenty of SF in the shape of onions, peppers and tomatoes.

I genuinely feel like my head is in the right place. Yeah, I was naughty on Thursday and Friday, and yeah, I may have had the odd rolo and not written it down, but considering how much chocolate and ice-cream is in the house, I could have so easily turned to them when I'm down. My nemesis is bread. There is a Best of Both on the kitchen worktop which OH had with his fish and chips on Thursday. I had a sneaky slice yesterday with low fat lurpak, but I have at least admitted it now. But here I am, sat working, having just finished my fruit and yoghurt, drinking my NAS squash, feeling kinda positive. I just really hope I don't gain on Tuesday. I know I deserve to, but it will bum be out big time.

Gonna do a teeny bit of meal planning, as we are away on Sunday, and I would like to get some stuff used up before we go (so I can restock :D )

Monday - fish
Tuesday - OH cooks
Wednesday - Sw donner kebab?
Thursday - takeaway
Friday - not sure yet
Saturday - roast pork dinner
Sunday - sausage and mash? cooked breakfast? Not sure, as we are leaving at 2:30pm

Got turkey out to defrost for tonight, only need 300g and there's 600g, so going to perhaps make up a curry and freeze it, or substitute it for fish tomorrow, but two rice based dishes is a bit much.

Last night didn't go to plan! After a pooey day, we ended up going round to a friends house, then got a takeaway game upon our return. But I don't mind, I'm just impressed that OH went! I've had problems in the past getting him to mix with my friends, but yesterday he was in the living room playing on the PS3 whilst I was out in the yard drinking Pimms. It's a brilliant start, and I'm dead chuffed.

And yeah, takeaway on our return as I hadn't had time to cook. Grilled chicken kebab for me with salad and a few chips. And I actually ate the pitta!
Once again quite impressed, as I was definitely leaning towards a chicken burger and chips, or variety box (doner, fried chicken, chips) but I stayed sensible

Day 52: 11/7/11

Bran flakes - HE
Milk - HE

SW wedges
Leeks
Dairylea triangle - 1.5

There is a melon in the fridge. I'm not a fan of melon, but its good for you, so I must attempt to eat some!

Turkey jambalaya! - 4.5

Wish me luck with Tuesday WI - eeeeeeek

Jambalaya was blummin' lovely! And even less syns, as I only used 75g, so about 7 syns in total. Also added in some cherry toms and leeks. It was enough for the two of us, and some for me for lunch tomorrow, so tonights portion was probably about 3 syns.

Sounds yummy! I love chorizo but been avoiding it as I'm only supposed to eat it piping hot... So generally been avoiding cured meats.
How was weigh in?x

The chorizo in it was nice, but I think it would be ok without if need be. I've even passed the recipe on to a SW friend who is a bit stuck. I would have taken her round the leftovers, but they're MINE!!! :D

Amazingly, lost a pound this week. I think my saviour has been cutting back on the syns to partially compensate on the blow out(s), and eating blueberries, leeks and melon!

Day 53: 12/7/11

Been craving a cheese sandwich for days, so today is the day!

2x WM bread - HE
Cheese - HE

60g sausage roll (why!!!!) - 9

Leftover jambalaya - about 2.5

Ribena lolly, top stop me from eating a Twirl - 1

Tuesday drinkies - half bottle of wine - 13 (I think)

OH is cooking tea, not sure what yet. I've sent him an extensive list of what is in the freezer!

- he is leaving it up to me to choose as he is tired. Men eh? I'm tired too, but I still have to walk the dog, cook dinner, go to CAB, do some shopping, walk the dog AND then drink wine.......:D

So I'm thinking something easy for him. Got some McDougals chicken bacon and cheese slice things in, so I need to syn them, then perhaps have them with mash and beans - nothing too taxing for him!

McDougalls lattice thingies I have down as 8 syns ages ago. Not seeing them listed, so have put a syn request in, so we shall see!
* they are 18.5!!!!! Cripes. Anyway, I had:

Chicken breast in tomato and pepper type salsa do-dah
3 croquette potatoes - 2

- and that was it!

27.5 syns, 77.5 left.

Well done - I bet all those speed fruits definitely helped!
I'm with you on the cheese sandwich today - cheese and tomato toastie for brekkie for me!

Thank you :)

Yes, I think super fruits and a large glass of water every day has certainly helped. I think I enjoyed my cheese sandwich, but my tummy is burbling, suggesting that maybe it would have preferred weetabix!

Are you still keeping a food diary on here? Not had an update email for aaaaaages. And wow, an eggplant - not long now eh? Exciting!

Umm I think keeping my food diary in it's current state would be a bit cruel for all the slimmers on here!
Example day yesterday:
Brekkie - 2 proper slices WM toast with non LFspread and marmite
Lunch - salad with leftover Breadcrumb chicken chunks, salsa and Mayo
Dinner - Cheesy chips from the chippy
Snacks - go ahead yoghurt bar, apple, huge punnet strawberries, bueno bar, French fries, some mikados

See... Not great! And not a surprise that I've already put on 2 stone!!
I'm not worried really though - my heads not in the right place to plan at the moment, I'm just trying to make sure I eat lots of fruit and minimise the takeaways.
Hmm suppose I'd better scoot over to my diary and give a bit of an update

Yes, that entry is mean! But, you have more important things to worry about, and the weight will drop off after you are running around after the little 'un.

Cheesy chips are possibly the best thing in the world. Add some beans, and I'm anyones!
