Tinytootz rant-and-involve-some-food diary

I would certainly give it a go again, but might do mine more as a meat loaf :) But I would definitely say it is more of a shish than a donner, but maybe we have strange donner here!

Day 55: 14/7/11

We usually have a takeaway on a Thursday, but I have a Morrisons Indian meal in the fridge, so we might do that instead. We shall see :)

Weetabix - HE
Milk - HE

Melon
Apple

I'm Hungry!:

SW wedges
Fritatta (leeks, spring onion, 2x eat smart sausages - 1, tomatoes)

Takeaway or indian, who knows!

If Indian:

1x onion bhaji - 2.5
1x veg samosa - 3
1/2 portion boiled rice - freeeee
1/2 portion Chicken Mkahani - 16 for total, 8 for mine. I suspect it would be less syns as its a Morrisons one and its under 250 cals for half, but who knows.
1/2 portion Chicken Saag - 11 whole, 5.5 for mine. Same as above, I suspect less.
1/2 naan - 220 cals, so would be 11 syns. I might even be strong and skip the naan, who knows.

If takeaway:

Chicken chow mein - 8
Chicken kebab - free as I'll skip the pitta.

I'm gonna be away from home for 5 days, and in the middle of nowhere. I'm terrified of gaining weight though, as I am PROPER going to be at the mercy of wherever we can find to eat - eek. Plus the day we return, we are going out for mine, OH and a friends joint birthdays, so I don't wanna feel really dumpy and horrid. So I think, as we are staying at my great aunts, I will stop off in Tesco and pick up fruit. Then I can pick at it, it doesn't need cooking, and it doesn't really interfere with the day. And OH is going to be at home Sat and Sun, so I can't eat what I usually do for lunch, which is proper bland SW food. But I'm going to try and stay on plan, whilst also having treats as it is gonna be my birthday after all!

Have an amazing time away x

And she's still here! Leaving in about 2 hours, just watching the rain cascade down the velux whilst I work, OH is on the Xbox playing Final Fantasy, the music is doing my tree in. 4 games for £10 from the car boot so he is happy.

Thursday we had chinese for tea, I was kinda sensible and I had no syns that day prior to it (I don't think) so I perhaps went a wee bit over, but not losing sleep over it.

Friday I had bran flakes, 1 oatcake with bacon and cheese, then a carvery tea - turkey, carrots, peas, roast potatoes, 1 spoon of gravy.

Saturday I had chicken meat and some chippy chips for lunch (dog had most of the chips!) and for tea we did the Indian from above. I had 1/3 of each of the meat dishes, 1/2 the boiled rice, 1 bhaji, 1 samosa and 1/2 naan, so I'm quite impressed with myself. We had the sticky toffee to finish. I had half with 2 dessert spoons of low fat custard.

Sunday today. So far I've had my glass of water (lol, like it helps!), 2 small crusty rolls (4.5 each) with a slice of trimmed bacon and a sprinkle of cheese in each, and an activia yoghurt.

So all in all, I've gone over syns each day. I think I can feel the gain in my stomach, but I seem to be a bit bloated anyway, probably due to the drastic diet change from fairly SW friendly to not really at all!

OH baked me a cake yesterday, bless him. Chocolate sponge cake with double cream centre with toffee crisp in it and hot chocolate powder, topped off with melted galaxy. It's true, I WILL be sick on my birthday!

Whilst away, I will stick to plan when I can, but not fret overly about it. Once we return, I've already got SW friendly meals in mind, such as fish, cottage pie, pasta bake and WW sausages and mash.

Found out what I got for my birthday, its a Wii, so I'm really quite excited!

Spent the day sorting out the house. I hate coming back to an untidy house so the hoovering, washing and general cleaning has been done, plus clean bedding on. I'm turning into an old lady!

Already been moaned at for packing too much, but I don't think I have! 1 pair dressy jeans, 1 pair daily jeans, 2 thick-ish jumpers, 1-2 thin jumpers, 1 cardi, 2 zipup tops, 3 vest tops, 3 tshirts, 1 pair shoes, waterproof and bomber jacket - I have to pack for every eventuality, and extra incase we get soaked!

But anyway, that's me all sorted. Animals all fed, watered and Hugo is ready to be dropped off with mother for the week. Going out on the Friday we get back as a joint birthday, so I hope I don't feel all bloated and horrid, must avoid bread for the few days before.

Over and out :)

My god that cake sounds amazing! Hope you have a fab time away and well done for having your SW mindset back on for when you return!

- and she's back! Hit the ground with an almighty bump, and feeling a little sorry for myself. We had a few tiffs whilst away (to be expected, 10 solid days with each other as company 24 hours a day), but otherwise had a lovely time. Reality has kicked in, so I'm feeling quite sullen today. Whilst away, we ate naughty things, lots. Such as: KFC, Burger King, cheesecake, birthday cake, pizza, fish and chips, subway, and lots of other rubbish. So tomorrow I am expecting between a 1-4lb gain. I think I'm in the right headspace to get it shifted, but I guess I will have to try and see. I'm just feeling so down in the dumps today, trying not to get all upset.
I know one tiff was because OH got sullen because he has put some weight on, and is now a 36" waist, not a 34", so he got stroppy. I also spent a LOT of our time away crying. Visited my nana and papas grave, got in a RIGHT state, and found the whole time in Scotland very upsetting, as I was where I was born, but I didn't have them to visit, and it felt kinda wrong. Can't really remember what the other tiff was. I know I got in a mood when we went to John O'Groats, and OH was a bit bummed as there is NOTHING there, so got back in the car. And we also travelled alllll the way back down from Glasgow in silence as OH was throwing his toys out the pram regarding going out, and I had had enough.

Anyway, gotta walk the dog, but I'm sure I will rant on later :D

Back from the walkies :)

So yeah, STILL feeling a bit doom and gloom, but at the minute, I feel a bit more secure in our relationship. Not that I had doubts as such, but I'm my own worst enemy, winding myself up over nothing. I guess my only bug about being away was how much money I spent! He earns more than me, not much more, but more. I saved up to go away, he didn't. So he had half of one weeks wage to go away on, some of which he spent before we even left on some books and birthday presents for me. So yeah, it annoyed me a little that I spent a load more than him, mainly on petrol. So my solution to it is to back off a bit for a month or so with spending my money on us, and let him dip into his wallet some more. I know he felt bad about it. He didn't say so, but I could tell, as when he feels bad or awkward, he turns into a bit of a git. But anyway. Oh, and it also bugged me how very un-understanding he was about how tiring it is to drive. I did nearly 1,300 miles over 5 days, 2 days involved doing nearly 300 each. But then once again, I know he felt bad about it, as he can't drive.
AND, I also worked out that I pretty much ate a weeks worth of syns (105) just in birthday cake over the week.
Why am I looking at the negative? Hmmm. Perhaps it's so I don't feel so sullen. But I know the next few weeks are gonna be tough on us, as the tiredness returns and the hum-drum kicks in. I just hope the paranoia between us doesn't come back. But I proper need to cut back on spending. I have a bankruptcy to pay for looming, and need to recoup some pennies really! I'll feel sooooo much better once I actually file for bankruptcy, well, perhaps a few weeks after, when nobody has seen it in the paper, or it isn't actually published. Anyhoo, thats enough for now, on with the fooooooood (starting at 1 again)

Day 1: The Restart: 25/7/11

Bran flakes - HE
Milk - HE

SW chips (oh how I missed thee)
Baked beans

FF Activia
1.5 squares of Galaxy (it has kinda melted and broke up funny, I've hidden the rest!) - 4

Pork chops (fat being trimmed off for the dog)
Hassleback potatoes
Roast parsnips
Leeks
Dairylea light triangle - 1.5
Peas
Carrots

Might possibly make yorkshires too, which would be 3 syns. Might have gravy, which would also be 3. We shall see.

Sorry to hear you're feeling crappy today. But try and look on the positives - the nice times you had together while you were away. And yes you might have eaten lots of birthday cake and naughty food, but I bet it tasted good! Good that you've started to plan straight away too - should help to get your head in the right place x

It did taste great, and I did sort of behave myself food wise, without feeling like I was missing out. But I opted *not* to start back on SW when we returned on the Friday, as we were out in the evening for drinkies, and we were both still technically on holiday till today. Naughty McDonalds, Subway, chips & cheese, oatcakes and pizza - hehe!

The sun has come out a wee bit here now, and I have an afternoon ahead of me tidying the house, which isn't thrilling, but will stop me moping about. Oh, and two weeks worth of Hollyoaks :D

Bless him, he got me a Wii with balance board, and some personal trainer games. I say bless, as chances are I won't use the personal trainer games as its just not my thing. But I bought the Wii Fit game which is more me. Dreading WI tomorrow morning, but I'm gonna TRY and skip the wine in the evening, which might lift my mood if its a huge gain.

- How's things ticking along with you and bump?

Glad you enjoyed, and you sound a bit more positive now!
Yep everything is going tickety boo - it's my last week in work though!! I brought my maternity leave forward because of the terrible problems I've been getting with my hips. My hips do feel a lot better now but I'm still pleased I'm going off now, I feel ready. Scary thing is I will never be back as I'm being made redundant while I'm off! So it's a bit wierd...

- but every cloud - you might get leaving cake :D

And yeah, feeling a little better. Jeans are still tight, dreading tomorrow, but the sun is out and I have SHED loads to do in the house!

And it's good that you feel ready for it

I'm hoping more for leaving flowers actually, but as everyone is leaving in December due to redundancy, not sure if that's a little presumptuous!! Yes I definately feel ready, plus I'm going to try and bring some SW order to my eating habits once I'm at home. I won't be 100% but I'll be a damn sight better than I'm doing now!!

Good luck tomorrow - and if it's not a great result, at least you know why and you're already back on track!

Haha, so today didn't exactly go to plan. 2 syns on yorkshires, 2 syns on gravy, about 8 syns on a creme egg ice cream cone, and now OH is making me a hot chocolate, bless him. I'm proper stuffed though!

2lb on. A well deserved 2lb on over the course of 2 weeks. I'm worried that I'll gain next week too though, as 2lb doesn't seem much, but we did do a hella lotta walking every day. Must be sensible this week. Still having a flexi Tuesday, but I feel much more in control.

Day 2: 26/7/11

Cheerios - 5
Milk - HE

WM pitta - HE
Cooked chicken
Spring onion
Lettuce
Dollop low fat mayo - 1
SW wedges
Leftover trimmed pork chop (random, I know!)

Activia
Apple

Kit Kat chunky - 13

OH is doing a cooked breakfast:

2x oatcakes - 12 (eeeeek) - I might just have the one.
Baked beans
Tomatoes
Trimmed bacon
Poached egg
WW sausages - 1
2x hash browns - 4.5

Out for drinkies, but I am going to grudgingly stick to the diet coke. I can't "afford" the syns really this week, and I have to be in at 9pm.

36.5 syns, 68.5 left.
