Tracey's healthy yummy lovely journey

Congrats on the loss hun and sorry to hear of your problems with the flat. I also know how you feel re the OH working late and not feeling like you see each other. It does suck but you've just got the make the most of the weekends. With the food shop I find that if I have to do a shop in the week I just do it online and get it delivered. It saves the hassle of having to go out after work - I bet you were both knackered having to do it that late! I hope you manage to get everything sorted hun xx

Thanks hun, I just said that to OH an he said he would be up for that. We might try that next week :) thanks for the well-wishes. Yes it does suck but your right, we just have to make the most of our time together. Sounds corny but getting to sleep beside him every night makes all the difference. How is your temp work going? Is OH away a lot with work or just long days at the moment? X

Excellent idea re online shopping Vintagepockets, its SO the way to go Tracey! With two little kids I wouldn't dream of grocery shopping with them in tow lol! I basically stopped going out shopping when I had Rosie. I get all my stuff from Ocado and I'm a loyal customer, my friend orders from Asda and she says they're amazing too!

Brilliant, I will definitely look in to doing that. You probably don't get to see as many special offers and such though do you?

All of the offers are online Tracy and I find I actually save more as the offers are there to see! We do our weekly shop online with Tesco and pop out for things needed mid-week xx

I agree I save more when I do online shopping as you can see all the offers and also you can see how much your bill is before you pay so you can cull anything you don't really need if you go over budget. Everytime we go shopping I regret it and just wish we had done it online. I end up spending a fortune when I'm in the supermarket as I get things I don't need on impulse!

Thanks girls, that's great advice! I really think we are going to do it online next week and I am actually really excited about it! Do they deliver outside of office hours? We wouldn't be home till 7pm (me). It will be so awkward having to go down to the apartment complex door and collect it haha! I'll make sure it's a time when OH is there too.

This is yeserday's post. Hilariously I mistook Vintagepockets' diary for my own. That must mean I'll be 10 stone before I know it ;)

Another good day today. I felt very picky. The naan bread with dinner was 7 syns so that restricted my snacking today but that's definitely not a bad thing.

Breakfast - grapes and an apple

Snack - 2 peppermint tea

Lunch - savoury rice (1.5) with hexa cheese and 2 WM bread. This is a random lunch because i out the savoury rice on the toasted WM and cover in cheese. Its so tasty but very carb on carby and salty. I need to maybe only have this once a week.
A small mandarin orange and a kiwi. Didn't feel like enough superfree with lunch.

Dinner - home-made syn free chicken tikka masala (red onion, garlic, passata and ginger) with basmati rice, roasted vegetables (courgette and peppers) and a small naan from tesco (7)

Snack - cadburys caramel chocolate hot chocoate made with water (2) skips (4.5)

Hexa - reduced fat cheddar (40g)
Hexb - 2 wholemeal bread (WW)

Syns - 15 on the button.

I have a busy day tomorrow. Work followed by visiting my grandad (i was advised not to go today as he was sick) go home and quickly make and eat dinner. Get ready for my first Zumba class. Walk there and do the class. Walk home, shower & bed time. I'll be so happy to flop in to ned after all that. And on that note...goodnight x

Homemade chicken tikka masala mmm:) this was last night's dinner. I got the recipe on Vintagepockets' recipe blog here My Slimline Recipe Book: Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilau Rice

I thought it was gorgeous! OH wasn't a huge fan which kind of annoyed me haha. Me mentioned something about how some Slimming World dishes have 'that' taste that they are not the real thing. He thought it might have been the yoghurt. Personally I thought it tasted so far from a diet meal and I thought it was gorgeous. It was unbeliebaly filling! The roasted vegetables (courgette and peppers) were unreal. I will be making these more often.

Oooh, lovely. I'm really excited. We're going to a Christening on Sunday so Monday will be a chill out night after work. Do you make the order the day before or something? Or how does it generally work?

You can do it whenever and you then choose a delivery slot :) has to be done at least the day before though! Xx

Hi, just been looking through your diary, 1st I want to say well done on your challenge that's such an amazing thing for you to do and a great incentive :) 2. Well done on your weight loss this week 3lb is fab!
Also I completely sympathise with you on the apartment front in so many ways, I've recently moved in to a house with my boyfriend (start of February) and our house is freezing :( so cold all the time as we have an extension downstairs with no heating in! It can be so upsetting be so cold all the time, we have the heating on constantly so gas bills are ridiculous and it still doesn't make a difference, one thing We have found is use a electric blow heater ours is only a small one and it makes such a difference also cheaper using that than heating constantly! Landlords can be such swines ours certainly is our fire hasn't worried since we've been here and I've phoned countless times still nothing :(
Chin up Hun as you say it's still good in a lot of ways I work till 10, 3 times a week so don't see my boy as much as we'd like but as you said sleeping next to each other every night makes it worth it in the end (cheesy but true)

Wow that was a long post sorry! Have a good week and hope you start feeling better soon xx

Aw hun thank you so much for your lovely post. I really made my day :)
Well done on your losses so far, you are doing brilliantly. Are you doing Slimming World? Do you have a Food Diary? If so I will subscribe.
Oh stop, our landlord has never made contact with us before. It was all through a letting agency. So now that we have problems we were expecting him to make contact. We then got a call today from a foreign guy who is his 'handy man'. He's not a plummer, or electrician. He is NOT going to re window the place. He can't see the washing at it's worst because that involves actually putting a wash on. It's all just a serious pain in the butt! Hopefully we get sorted soon as it's really getting to me. And your right, there are lots of positives and it's great to be together every night and morning. I still live for the weekends though :)

Thanks for your support hun xx

Aw your welcome :) regarding the "handy" man I don't really understand why they've got him on the case but we had one just before me moved in, just fixed some cupboard doors etc not any of the big things but mad some difference! My advice would be write a list of what needs doing even the tiny things and he could fix some of them! We're with a letting agent too who contact the landlord but so far they both seem useless not interested now were in and paying rent lol I don't get weekends off which can be a bummer but it's nice to have a day off in the week to have a good clean is that sad lol probably I'm a bit obsessed with cleaning since we've moved lol. After a 10 hour shift in Saturday I have 9 days off wooo I'm so happy and it's my birthday that week can't wait!
I'm doing 5:2 mixed in with slimming world extra easy at the minute trying to boost me up! I have got a diary but no idea how to link as I use the app, it's called my new diary no more messing :) if you can find me!
Have a lovely day :) I'm off to work now boo :( xx

Hey Everyone!

Mad day in work. So incredible busy and just a bit manic. Very much looking forward to finishing in... exactly 87 minutes. lol!

I went to my first Zumba class last night and OMG I absolutely loved every minute of it. It is so much fun and it is such a great work out. I was dripping sweat and my body was aching but it felt so good. The music was so good and I just let loose and had a ball. I can't wait to do it again next week. I think I will go on Tuesday and Wednesday. The prospect of regular exercise is exciting because I don't want to lose 70 pounds and be saggy and creased. I want to do it all the right way. And that I shall do! I ended up having a really late dinner last night, like 11pm late but I didn't mind because naturally I was starving after Zumba as I hadn't had enough time to eat dinner before I left. It was so nice to come home and find it on a plate and just pop it in to the microwave. The Zumba class is a nice 15 minute walk from our apartment which was another nice bit of fresh air and exercise. All in all I am delighted with myself.

Yesterday's Food Diary...

Breakfast - 'magic porrige' with grapes. Not so magic because I don't think it works for me and nobody knows why :(

lunch - pasta, 1 tablespoon of green pesto (2.5) with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, rocket and Hex A low fat cheddar. This was delicious. I also had a kiwi.

Dinner - Hunters chicken (6 - 4 for 30g reduced fat cheese and 2 for 2 tbls of BBQ sauce), mixed veg, and slimming world chips. ketchup (1)

Snack - 2 x herbal teas, 1 camomile tea and 1 banana and custard muller light yoghurt

Hex A - 40g reduced fat cheese
Hex B - 35g Porridge Oats

Syns - 9.5 but probably closer to 11 or 12 as I went a little over on the HexA cheese I feel. Must keep an eye on that. I will weigh in future.

image-2444787120.jpg - Dinner. SO SO SO good. Thank you Vintage pockets for the recipe, can't wait to make it again.

Here is my not so magic porridge... I have no idea why it doesn't work for me. Over the weekend I'll try it with a Muller Light and see if it makes any difference. *sigh*

Today is looking very good again, but I am adament that the majority of my days will as I am very focused at the moment. I'm not sure what I'll be having for dinner tonight as I am going over to my mam's to sort her iphone out for her (restore it back to it's settings, could take hours. last time it said 3 hours and I couldn't stay that long, hence going now). I will probably eat something there but I have no idea what. If it's done within two hours I'll just eat at home as I should be home about 9.30pm that way. Other than that, here is what today looks like.

Breakfast - 'magic porridge' with mixed berries.

lunch - Erin low Fat Savoury Rice (1.5) with rocket and cherry tomatoes. handful of grapes and carrot sticks. 1/2 HexA of reduced fat chedder as I know I will probably have a tea with milk in my mam's house.

Snack - a banana and 2 peppermint teas. 1 litre of water.

Dinner - ????

Hex A - half cheese and half skimmed milk
Hex B - 35g Porridge Oats

Syns - 1.5/15 so far today. will definitely have most of them though, one way or another.

Right, back to work... the end is nigh'.

Food sounding good! Definitely try the porridge with a pot of muller light- that's all i've ever used for it and it's always come out yummy! :) xx

For dinner I ended up having roast chicken, mashed potato and carrots and turnip with bisto gravy (1.5). When I got home about 11.30pm I was hungry so I had a handful of SW chips that himself had made on 2 slices of WW wholemeal bread and some ketchup (7 altogether). I also had a taste of the seabass he made which was amazing and a greek style muller (.5).

All in all I had 10.5 syns today and I'm delighted with that. We are having dinner out tomorrow which im really excited about :))) i'll only have half or no hexA to give myself some wiggle-room and i'll have more or less no syns so I can enjoy my meal. I'll have something like steak and salad. Can't wait and we've been so busy this week we've barely had time to talk and the weekend is very busy too so no alone time really.

Night night everyone, i'm so happy tomorrow is Friday :)))

Hey lovely, finally got round to sponsoring you today, keep up the good work! x

Oh yeah, I absolutely think it's handy when your moving in for fixing various things etc, but not for big issues like ours. To be honest I sort of know in my gutt that we won't be there next year. But it is a join-decision and we'll have to talk about it nearer the time. Thanks for the kind words. Yes it's exactly the same with us, as though they are not bothered now that we are in and paying them each month. Live and learn right?
Oooh enjoy your 9 days off, that's amazing. And your birthday. Anything nice planned? I'm totally intrigued by the 5:2 plan. I might try it when I'm eventually maintaining some day. I'll get there ;)

Have a great day xxx
