Echoing Bess, hope the 'stuff' isn't taking over too much... hope you are OK.

Am here, "stuff" has been v. bad. But I have a loving husband and family and great friends and of course my minis friends too.

Not going to be posting on my diary too much, and certainly not about food at the moment. But have lurked and read and will join back in - it seems far too quiet!!!

Big, big hugs Wales. :hug99: xxx

Good to see you back hun, we have missed you... more hugs heading your way and some Christmas sparkles to make everything see a bit brighter.

Hello Wales, sending a Tuesday hug from freezing Shropshire. Fog thickening as I write, through the window the pheasants are eating all the fallen apples in the orchard and the dog is asleep on my feet. Made the Christmas cakes at last and now feeding them with brandy, I'm going to try to be a bit better organised for Christmas this year, instead of everything being a last minute scrum as it usually is. Better buy some cards I think today.

Love and another big warm hug. x

Stuggling to feel festive when have to deal with numpties all day at work. People that work for the same company, people from other companies - I have been in a bad mood all day with no patience. Funnily enough feel better now I am home ;)

Also have a chesty cough, plus fell over on my bum at the weekend so have a bruised coccyx - so am in pain every time I cough, which is pretty often.

Bess - it sounds idillic where you are...

Thanks for the hugs, they are all appreciated x

Bess will send us all a bit of 'virtual' xmas cake to make us smile... mine will have baileys not brandy... be better soon, Wales, horrible cough & bruised bum you can do without.

Poor Wales, hope you are feeling a bit better today from the bruises and cough. Still freezing here. Sunny though. I've let my little blue Silky chick out with his mum and so far they seem alright. Hope that fox leaves them alone, poor single duck is still quacking for her sister....
Deer in the field this morning, fallow, all shades of pale to dark. I'd love to find a fawn hidden in the undergrowth in the spring, but never have and I'd also like to find some shed antlers, but I think the stags eat them....?

Big hug my love, I hope all of the bruises are fading a little. xx

Hi Sweetie,

Another lovely day here, sprinkling of snow, deer in the field and sunshine too, perfect. Such a late night last night, working. I interviewed a man who really, really, really loved talking about himself:mad:. So I drove home through an hour and a half's worth of ice and snow at 9pm. :(
Slithered up the yard and garden into the warm at 10.30....Brrrrr! All my Christmassy friends are teasing me as they always do about the lack of decorations here! They go up on Christmas Eve you see, but I have made a concession and there are pretty white lights in a tree in the garden and some lovely non pink (!:D) coloured ones round the window and the door. Better go and hunt for a tree soon, we usually cut our own, it doesn't shed at all then and the smell is divine.....:smiley522:

Love and a hug. xx

Hi Wales -

Hope you are feeling better - can really appreciate the cough as my little'un v poorly and me and the other half down with colds too.
Hope the bruises are a little less painful now too.
Lots of snow here today. Sooo cold xxx

Morning diary. Cold has really taken hold with a nasty chesty cough and very snotty nose - shiny red nose, dry face and chapped lips - I look luscious! Also had a couple of days away with work. We went to our midlands office and went by train to Wolverhampton via Manchester and considering the bad weather the journey was great, very relaxing. We took a colleague out for lunch as she was taking voluntary redundacy after 40 yrs of service. I couldn't believe the change in temperature between the midlands and up here. I got off the train to pick up my car and I swear it felt about 10 deg colder!

Tidying the house today, buy the tree this evening and them Christmas shopping tomorrow - well that's the plan!

Bess - how are the silkys doing?

Be better soon Wales... and stay warm! Tis arctic here as well, just cannot seem to get warm. I think I really do believe now that those extra layers of insulation have gone...

Shopping not too traumatic this morning. Supermarket shop done, and bumped into my CDC - lovely to see her and have a quick catch up. Then bought tree from small nursery at the top of the village, one of only three left but it is perfect, lovely and thick branches and still in pot so am sure will last. It looks so pretty all dressed up, could do with some more lights, I use the battery powered LED ones so might see if I can find some more to add. But it is the best tree we have had in years. Christmas spirit finally arrived here. Perhaps it is the tree, perhaps it is wrapping presents, or perhaps it is the bottle of gin in the kitchen ;) It is the only time we buy bottles of spirits, honestly!

Cold is still in full force, and OH's cold has come back to terrorise him too. First place we went today when shopping was Boots, queuing at the counter before 11am to stock up on Beechams, cough medicine and tissues. Perhaps that's why shopping was pretty painless, people saw my bright red nose and heard my cough and parted like the red sea

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and is keeping warm or enjoying the snow where it is.

Sounds good in spite of the cold Wales, and I am sure that gin must be medicinal... the tree sounds lovely. OH just put icicle lights up along front of house and the snow has made everyone feel all festive and happy. Take care & wrap up honey!

Hope you feel better soon! My little ones are full of colds this morning - always happen during time off school!

I'm glad the Christmas spirit has found you :) I'm nearly as excited as the kids although find the anticipation in early December better than the actual event!

Hope you have a good day!

Glad you are feeling all Christmassy Wales, but sorry that you and OH are coldy, hope you are both much better by Christmas.
Our girls are all out, a very rare occurance and so Father and Mother Christmas have been madly wrapping their stocking gifts. Still more bits to get. My little silky is fine, she's very small but they don't thrive shut up in a small run all the time so she's taking her chance with the foxes, buzzards and crows. Her Mum is ferocious so hopefully she'll keep her safe, until we and the dog can get there with reinforcements anyway!

Hey Wales! How are you feeling? Sounds like you had a crappy cold. Hope it's starting to clear for you hun xxx

Hello again Sweetie, how's the cold? Are you feeling a bit better now? xxx

I've heard Delia's choc bread and butter pudding is very good for a cold ;)
