Hi Westie,

I hope your having a ball over in Amsterdam, be careful some of the delights on offer, give ya de munchies big style...know what I mean....LMAO.....:D

Home, but exhausted. Weekend Part 1

I apologise if this is long and rambling, please feel free to skip the following post if it gets lengthy, although it will be a potted (no pun intended) version - too lazy to type lol - just wanted to document my lovely weekend in Amsterdam! :D

Phew it was a long way to go for 1 night but it was worth it. Got the train after work on Friday night, and didn't get to Manchester Airport until 9.30pm. Was exhausted but relieved to be there. Had 2 JDs (to knock me out, you understand) but still tossed and turned all night. Couldn't get to sleep until 1am which was such a bad thing as I had to be up at 5am. Got the courtesy bus at 6.20am and checked in for my flight in plenty of time. Flight was good and I arrived in Amsterdam on time. Had to wait for my pals to arrive for about an hour but that was OK as I had a sit down and a coffee. They turned up at 12.30pm and we headed to the hotel. Couldn't get into our rooms immediately so we headed out for some lunch. Ex FMs pals went for a liquid/roll up lunch and the rest of us had a "proper" lunch. Went back to the hotel and we still couldn't get into our rooms so they gave us all a complimentary drink at the bar. When we eventually got in, the hotel was absolutely lovely - we had executive rooms and i was sharing with one of my friends. We had been put together because we both snore! Had a wee rest before heading out to have some tea - food was OK but very basic. Lots of Pizza, Steak Houses (half the group were vegetarian lol), Indonesian and bizzarely Argentinian!

Back to the hotel for a shower before heading out into the night. Had a wander around the red light district. This was at my request because I'd never been to Amsterdam and was very curious. How very odd to see all the ladies in the windows - not wearing much clothing and they were all absolutely gorgeous! I might be quite niave but I've never seen anything like it! Went for a quiet drink afterwards before heading back to the hotel and falling into bed about 1am and slept like a log, the best sleep in ages!

Well lunchtime is over (finished my tetra) so I will update the second part of the weekend later.

Sounds divine, Sarah,

I am looking forward to reading part 2 later! By the way, you can ramble as long as you want - it is always an interesting ramble!

Sunday

OK, gonna quickly finish my trip now.

Sunday, got up really early - 7.15am (so that's 6.15am over here) and went for the most fantastic breakfast (sorry folks for the food talk). It was a big huge buffet breakfast and I ate loads. Practically rolled out of the dining room. Needed a good lining on my stomach - long day ahead. Didn't have too much time left in Amsterdam but we wanted to take in a bit of culture so we went to the Van Gogh museum. It was really good. I am not really into art - probably because I don't know much about it, but I must admit I did like his works. We came back to the hotel by 12.30pm so we could get to the airport. Everyone else's flights were before mine so I had a bit of time after they had gone and did some duty free shopping.

Got back to Manchester Airport at 3.45pm which was good, but then my nightmare journey started. Had to wait till 5pm for a replacement bus service to Wilmslow Station, where I had to wait 35 minutes for a train to Crewe. Got to Crewe and was due to catch an replacement bus service all the way home. When I got to the car park there was about 150 people waiting to get on a 49 seater bus. What a nightmare!!!! Lots of anxious and agitated people. Finally they organised some people who weren't going very far to get another train, one bus was filled with people going to Bangor and that left about 10 of us waiting for another bus. After being due to leave at 6.45pm we didn't leave until 7.30pm. Got home at 9.45pm - exhausted, but happy to have had a great weekend.

Day 1/32 - I really am not hungry :-(

Ok, up to date now! So I'm back and starting SSing again. I am counting down 32 days until my friends wedding in Edinburgh and my aim is to do 32 days straight. I am away for 4 days and when I come back there is about 3 weeks to the Birmingham meet so then I intend to SS again until then. I think once I come back from there I will go onto another CD plan to lose the last few pounds - my BMI will probably be 25 by then so I'll have to.

Started the day with a lovely alarm call - Jennie it really is the best way to start the day lol. J's first comment was only 5 more sleeps till our date. Bless!

So today I have been doing well. I must admit that I have planned in 4 packs just for the first few days so that I can get through them - still very tired after my weekend and also still finding working tiring because I'm still learning and my brain hurts. Started the day with a chocolate shake for breakfast washed down with 1/2 litre of water. Work was busy enough that I didn't feel hungry for most of the day - until 4pm. Then I got tired and hungry. I did have a chocolate tetra for lunch. Went to make a coffee and walked into the kitchen saying out loud to myself "I am NOT hungry!". Came home and made myself a tomato soup, nicely thickened with psyllium husks. Followed that with a cup of coffee and a cranberry crunch bar. My first CD bar. It was yummy and I especially liked the choc covering which is better than the LL chocolate!

So now I have had all my packs and I'm feeling fine. I am switching off my PC soon because I get caught up too easily and my mind is racing by the time I go to bed.

Finally, just a dating update. I REALLY like J. I have spoken to him so many times over the last few days, and we get on so well. I think about him all the time, I speak to him first thing in the morning and he always calls to say goodnight. From feeling so nervous and petrified I can't wait to meet him. He told me that this is going to be the longest week of his life. I know what he means! He made me text him to say I was safe in Amsterdam and safe when I got home. When I told him about my horrendous train/bus trip he offered to come and pick me up at Crewe station and bring me home. He summed it all up when he texted me yesterday and said "I do hope we work". Me too! I get butterflies when I think about him and tbh, I am not even bothered about my weight when we meet. He tells me so many nice things and he's so down to earth I feel I could tell him anything. When putting myself down (in order to soften the blow when he meets me lol) he tells me that he doesn't do expectations, just the person. How could that not make me feel great!

So only 5 more sleeps.........

Hey Sarah

Glad you had a great time in Amsterdam despite your horrendous journey!

Ahhhh how lush does J sound, and blimey he is putting the effort in isn't he.... hope it works out for you babes, can't wait for the post date analysis!!!

Be good on your diet, it's day one for me too (and loads of other people it seems haha). SS = happiness! Sad but oh so fecking troo!

Day 2 - Cruising - Oh How I Hope it Lasts!

Well day 2 of SSing out of 32. Going great guns!

So far:
Breakfast - choc shake
Lunch - banana tetra
Tea - Veg soup, 1/2 peanut crunch bar.
Through day - 3 litres water

OMG I love the peanut bar! I much prefer it to the cranberry one. Still got all the other flavours to try this week, I'm in heaven! Trying to save the other half till later but I'm not sure I can wait ;).

Felt really hungry this afternoon, can't wait for ketosis to kick in. I have spare tetras in my desk but easily managed to tell Mrs CB to bugger off and didn't have one. I wish it could always be this easy lol.

Quiet night planned again tonight. Footie on TV and some paperwork to do! Gonna try for another early night. Tried last night but didn't quite manage it. Ended up talking to J till 1 am . He didn't finish work till 11.45pm and as usual I just can't seem to finish our conversations. So this morning it was my turn to do the alarm call! It might also have been something to do with the copious amounts of coffee I drank yesterday. We have a coffee rota in work and I had 5 cups - but there was no decaff! Bought some decaff at lunchtime today but I think I might be too late and the caffeine will keep me going for hours!

sounds like everything is going well for you, I bet the date will be fantastic (sooo jealous lol)

keep it up you'll be skinny and all loved up in no time :)

Hey Sarah

Hope you're still cruising?!!? It's day 3 for us today - i'm still going great guns and have already lost 7lbs!! hoorah!

BTW, did your day two consist of 4 packs, aren't you only allowed three on CD?!?!? Just beware of the slippery slope honey - i find if i have an extra pack it weakens my resolve and i end up bingeing! I think yo are very much like me and if i think i've broken the diet i totally throw the whole day away!!

Today is hard for me i'm starving! Been up since 5am and i'm sure that early mornings make me more hungry! Had a toffee bar at 8am and just had thai chilli soup for lunch. I was counting down the minutes for lunch from 10am! yikes!!

Got another soup at 4 and then prob have another bar at 7ish. I know i'm not allowed to have two bars but as i'm staying away from home tonight it's just easier - i do that sometimes and it doesn't seem to affect me and i see it as still sticking to the diet lol.

Luv,

Really Good News

Some of you may remember my pal Kerry from the Newcastle meet in January. If you remember she was asking anyone if they had rennies because she had bad indigestion. She jokingly said that the last time she had such bad indigestion was when she was pregnant. I said to her that well you know what that means and sure enough she phoned me last night to say she is pregnant!

She said it was a bit of a shock but she is getting used to the idea now. She said the worst bit is that she won't be able to come out with us next time there is a VBFC!

Aaaah Sarah that's wonderful news about Kerry - send her my (and Sarah's) congratulations....... tell her I'm sure there will be plenty of future VFBC so she may only miss one!!!

Hope your OK - sounds like your doing great - have a lovely time with J he does sound really special..... no more than you deserve I hasten to add.....:D

Love
