I know I will at least 10lbs over Christmas, so if I can be 5 or 6 pounds less than normal, then I won't feel to bad after the post Christmas weigh in.
Hmm, that's a good idea Jim.. i've never been so weight conscious as i have been this year. I've always tried to 'cut down on this or that' for years but this year has been THE dieting year as i've had something to aim for. Guess we'll just have to see where i'm at around Xmas hey! Xmas dinner is my favourite meal of the whole year and there's no way i'm missing out on any of it! Not a massive chocolate fan so i don't often have many of those n don't do the whole nut cracking thing either. But i like the snacky things which i can cut back on and try to remain informed regarding alcohol too making better choices. I'm due to be working lates again new years eve so won't be a boozy one for me again this year, think it's a blessing in disguise though. I may go out on duty when i finish..
I hadn't thought of that. I suppose I'd set myself up to still be in induction at xmas, but if i'm maintaining by then I can go back into induction for damage limitation. Nice one Jim, thanks!
The ham I use bits of leftovers from roast, or good old cheapy gammon steaks. I literally fry it up in butter then chuck a load of shredded savoy cabbage in, it is DELICIOUS! I do the same with bacon and cabbage and at xmas the only way I can get hubbs to eat sprouts is by frying them up with bacon LOL.
B: odds and sods of left overs chopped and then fried with scrambled (sort off) eggs.
L: I'm thinking the veggie Cafe for the 3 cheese and spinach melt.
D: TFIF!! The pub and then a donner and salad in a tray.
Oooh no I'll keep my eyes open for that one, I love my leeks especially all buttery and poured over pork chops
Today I are be mostly eating.......LOL
B: 2 cold sausages (felt a bit sicky this morning so only managed a little breakkie).
L: Hopefully off to a pub by my house that does stunning homemade food, and will have a caesar salad there with chicken and anchovies
D: Not sure yet but I suspect a prawn stir fry is on the cards.
Ooo i get that one too Jim It's lush and all ready chopped up. I too am naughty (and lazy) n don't bother washing it, just whack it straight into the wok
Yes you may be right there Jim. Things like that just don't worry me in the slightest. My grandma worries so much about stuff like chemicals, germs etc etc blah blah, yet she's the one that's always had the dodgy stomach all her life not me. I believe a certain amount of exposure does your immune system good. However, i must admit i am using more n more of the alcohol hand wash in work as that's gotta help when you pick up some of the stuff we do! They just distributed loads of it around work to try to combat S flu so i'm trying to get into the habit of using it.
Yeah, but stuff like that is good sense!
My friend is a country lass so she grow up drinking unpasteurised milk from the farm down the road - never did her any harm! my brother always says 'you eat a pound of dirt before you die'!
I dont wash lettuce for salad - retains the flavour and means the plate isn't covered in water!
I wash organic stuff but only to get the bugs out! Although, you know, extra protein...How many carbs in one of those little fruit flys...?
All protein me thinks Jar! LOL.. I sometimes get some brocolli off me dads veg patch n that needs a good soaking in cold water for a while to bring out the caterpillars! I do get a little obsessive about making sure they're all off though. My mum's not as bothered about them as i am so i always re-do hers when she's cooking it n i gatecrash for tea. I think it's mostly cos she can't be bothered to put her specs on and can't exactly see em!
