♥ ~ Tanya's Maintainence Diary ~ Year 2 ~♥

haha I didn't buy them ... Stevie did!!!!

Ok, had some brilliant replies about my training programme and so this is it. Run 3 times a week:

1x 3mile speed run - sprints/slow at 30sec/1min intervals

1x hill session - 1.5mile run out, running reps at sprints as many as I can (only at sprint level, better to do 2 sprint reps than 5slow reps) 1.5mile run back.

1x 90min session - been told to focus on time here and not on miles so thats what i'm going to do. 90mins should get me around the 7-8mile mark.

:8855: .... I have absolutely NO idea what all that means but I'm glad you've got what you needed! xx

Just did the embarasing bodies body fat percentage test online and I am of healthy body fat percentage 28% .... this had made me v. happy!!!!!!!

How do you do that Tan???

Most surprisingly mine is 28% too :D xx

The seeds are great in the porridge and are adding some good omega fats to your diet. I make up my porridge with 15 g seeds and 40g dried fruit and 50g porridge oats. Cover with water and microwave for three minutes. It really fills me up. Aldi do bags of mixed milled seed which are good value. Just add a dessert spoon to the porridge.
Great input from the runners forum. You are really becoming a pro.

Thanks :) 25% so healthy happy days!!

Tanya, I love that lipsy dress. You will look lovely in it c

Brilliant :) we are all healthy!! Just shows that the bmi is poop!! :giggle:

Thanks Molly :) how expensive are the bags in aldi? The free samples we got are from holland & barrat and a full size bag is like £8  should i use the whole 15g pack then in my porridge?

On wed & fri I think I'm guna defo have porridge instead of a meal bar before my run.

Holland and barrat here are v dear too. Aldi milled seed is less than half the price. The one with the goji berries has a lovely hint of sweetness. You'll find it same aisle as the cereals.

Sorry Tan, yeah you can add the 15 g to the porridge or just half if you prefer. Also remember seeds have lots of cals so a little goes a long way. I sprinkle 15 g over two chopped plums or a chopped apple giving me a nice balanced snack.

So, what exactly are the benefits of the seeds? I know they are good for you but not sure why.

Really I should look this up myself shouldn't I, sorry Molly!! :p

Seeds are a useful source of omega 3 and omega 6 fats. These are the good fats we need in our diet. Good fats help stabilise blood sugar. The addition of seeds to othr foods helps keep blood sugars level thus avoiding hunger pangs. Adding seeds to a fruit snack slows the release of sugars in our system which helps keep us feel fuller for longer.
That's how I understand it. I use them milled or whole. I buy pumpkin, linseed, sunflower and sesame seed and then make my own mix of them.

To be fair Tan my BMI is in the healthy range as well at 22.6 but I do know that athletic healthy people tend to have higher BMIs .... I'm assuming you do? That'll be why :) xx

Oooh yes I do. I'm still classed as obese :( I have to be around 8st7-9st to be 'healthy'.

Jeeez that sound a bit extreme duntit! How low you have to be to be 'healthy'!! It's deffo the fitness thing that gives a false reading! I certainly wouldn't be worried about it if I were you - and I don't think you are so GOOD!! :) xxx

Nah i'm past the point of caring about the bmi - ive said it before, my brother (the one in the marines) is a prime example. There is not an ounce of fat on him, he is small in height but pure muscle but is obese :hmm: LOL

Good for you :D:D xx
