♥ ~ Tanya's Maintainence Diary ~ Year 2 ~♥

Sorry about the knee Tan :( ... what a dilemma for you so close to the race .. I wouldn't know what to advise, sorry.

It must be exciting getting all your stuff through - makes it even more real eh? :)

What was it on the podcast that made you decide to go back to cc? Just curious (ok - nosey ;))

You can get that stone off hon - you know you can :D:D xxx

I'm not sure what to do either about my knee. Strangely enough I thought it'd be worse after shift tonight but actually it feels better?!

Getting that stone off, pah! Not after today not on my nelly :( I've got so much spinning around my head right now I cant decide whether I feel more angry, upset, hurt, let down, stupid but chocolate seemed like the answer at the time, read the edit but I'd you dare ;)

Got home from shift at 00:25 and start work at 01:00 so I didn't have my salad I went and got a bloody meal deal from the tesco garage - why who the f knows :sigh:

Oh Jan, the thing that made me want to go back to cc was she had a caller on saying that she exercises 5times a week and eats real healthy but still not losing weight and she wants to lose the last few lbs and Jillian asked her about her calories and she said she doesn't count em and Jillian flipped saying 'whaaaaaaaaat' got to calorie count to and then she went on to explain the bmr etc and explaining that unless your doing something outrageously wrong or you've got something wrong with you then if you work out your bmr and take off 500cals a day you will lose 1lb a week, take off 1000 then you will lose 2lbs a week and so that was me converted back! :giggle: x

Ah I see. Seems like a good move then.

As for the Tesco meal ... tbh it doesn't look all that bad. Damage limitation now though eh? Just in case!

Glad your knee feels better, lets hope the improvement continues xxx

Think I spoke too soon about the knee now I've been sat down for hours it's hurting when I'm getting up in my breaks.

Defo damage limitation least I got a salad ready made for tomorrow lol xx

Uh-Oh re the knee. You could do with some professional advice really with the race so close .... ? Maybe the forum you belong to could help? Or have you tried them? xxx

Oh dear about the knee hun :( I cant even manage 2mins on an exercise bike so have zero advice to offer!! Pity its so close to the race but knowing you, you will cross that finish line even if you have to crawl xx

hi tanya..just had a quick flick through your last few pages and had a couple things to ask x

dont forget to stretch after a run..it does help
i suffered a lot with knee pain then for some reason after about 6 months running it went as quickly as it arrived..not sure why..maybe its to do with how flexible or fit you become? just a thought
dont forget about tapering in the last week before a race..so your fit and healthy and raring to go for race day
and ...dont forget to enjoy the day, dont worry about times and you will probably find your times will increase

h x

I always stretch after a run Harriet, and the last time my knee flared up like this I had 5 days rest and I was fine. I've heard about tapering and so my last long run the sunday before then maybe 1 or 2 short 2milers in the week of the race :)

I have only just got some replies on the runnersforum. They're saying 5days rest is better than to be injured come race day.

I'm thinking I might give tomorrows run a miss and run monday and then again thursday. It is feeling a bit better today but still not 100%.

Saturday 7th May

B- special k, s.s milk, 150ml orange

L- mums cottage pie

Glad your having a bit of break with the running hun. Where bout's does it hurt? is it the whole joint or down a particular side?
Food looks good today btw :)

Its my right knee down the left hand side, so the inside of my knee. Im tempted to go to the docs monday so see if there is anything wrong but I feel like it might be a waste of his time lol

Oh, I've been invited out tonight - what do i do?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to :party0049: or not to :party0049:

Exactly where I have it- it maybe your medial collateral ligament which I have damaged. If so you need to get it checked out! It has been 6 months for me and I am still in pain 24/7 and the specialist says it can take up to 18 months to heal!
So moral of the story get it looked at! Mine just started with twinges here and there.
As for tonight if you do have a good time but be careful!

I totally agree with this. Tanya it is very easy to do permanent damage so mind how you go with this knee. Hopefully it is nothing but get it checked with the doc. Strap it for every run.
Enjoy the party.

Ooooo hope you're partyin' girl! ;) carefully but partying nevertheless :):) xx

Don't know about embarrassing - that's disgusting!

Hope you enjoy your harvester lunch. You could have printed off an Amazon voucher for him - that's my standby gift these days as you can get absolutely anything through there these days :) xx
