Good luck Clare, if you get stuck we're here :) mum taught herself to knit from a book when she was younger. She is so different from her family it is funny.

Mmm chicken pizza is awesome. I've done it a few times. It feels so naughty

Jenna, good luck for tomorrow, but don't be so hard on yourself, you've done so well.

Ooh, glad you had fun Tata, and well done for lunch. I have no idea what pecan pie would be (other than yummy. Haha)

LOL Thats what I'm going to do... Ignorance is bliss... I'll round it at 12 syns and move on! LOL

Sounds like you had a fab day bubbly, not sure on the syns of pecan pie and not much on the Internet, websites are saying it ranges from 470 to 503 calories per slice but that can't be right cos that would make a 470 cal slice 23.5 syns, definitely wrong. Cheesecake isn't even that much I don't think and that's worse! I should know I'm cheesecake queen lol. X

Hi lovelies! Sorry I've been MIA today. I went up to London with my friend to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum. My brother's girlfriend recommended a new Lebanese restaurant that is rated as one of the top 10 healthiest restaurants in the UK so I thought it was a good bet. It was amazing! I had a lamb and prune tagine with butternut squash and peas in it and cous cous. I'll need to syn/Hex the prunes because they were dried and chuck in a few syns for unknown cooking methods (I know the meat was grilled but probably brushed with oil). I'm going to see if I can magic up a truly free SW version because it wouldn't be hard!

It went out the window a bit as I had a cocktail with it... At lunchtime! Felt very decadent. Just one shot of vodka though with mint tea, apple juice and ginger ale - worth every syn! (Until I work out it was 30 syns... But hopefully not!)

Welcome to loolahoop!

Clare - you're not a bad person for feeling that way. It's totally understandable. Fingers crossed it happens for you soon too xxx Good luck with knitting! I have a crochet hook and two balls of wool and I can't even set the crochet hook up correctly! Maybe I need to have a word with Mandy!

Jess - What are you doing to me with all this talk of kebab, chips and garlic sauce??! Omnomnom! I'm sure we could make a SW friendly version - shish kebab, SW chips and a garlic fake mayo... :ponders:

Scarlett - dinner looks amazing - totally going to try that pizza topped chicken!

Hmmm... Time to syn my day...

Wow your day sounds great! An the restaurant sounds fabulous, meal sounds gorgeous! And f course your cocktail, I love a good cocktail :D
You can do a SW donner kebab! I do it all the time cos I love love love kebab but when I'm mortal drunk I just wanna get my bum to the tasty Turk haha and it's not the same preparing it and eating it later with the kebab as it dries out quite quickly, not a fan of dry meat! Here's a pic of one I made the other day, syn free donner kebab, SW chips, syn free onion rings, pita bread and I have it with syn free garlic sauce and side salad x

Fran, I've just made roast chicken thighs with stuffing, mash and gravy for my OH and now I'm starving! I was stuffed before. I've bought a load of snack fruit pots (they're always in the reduced section at our supermarket) and I've just realised I haven't had any Healthy Extras today so I am going to have a healthy snackfest!

Tata - aren't desserts shockingly synful!! Good job on the jacket potato - my friend made me a pasta bake the other week and it came out at nearly 30 syns! It's so easy to do it healthily but you just don't realise how bad they can be normally!

Oh hun you did fabulously, I bet it tasted better than it used to before sw because it is a real treat.

I was hungry before, then ate, still hungry, waiting a little longer before having my heb and syns and if still hungry a fruit salad! How sweet are you to cook just for your fella?! That's great they are always reduced. Lucky you. I hate hungry days, especially as the scales won't shift but some of the bloating has... Just round my waist, hips are still a few inches bigger though.

Lyrical this is the recipe I use from here, it's to die for, literally tastes the same as from the kebab shop minus the grease!

Syn Free Donner Kebab
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
500g/1.1 lb Lean lamb mince
Method:
Preheat oven to gas mark 4/180C/350F
In a large bowl, combine the dried oregano, dried Italian herbs, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper.
Add the lamb mince and mix thoroughly for 2-3 minutes. Take out all of your aggression on the kebab mixture, punching and kneading until no air pockets remain and the kebab meat is extremely smooth.
Shape the seasoned mince into a loaf and place on a baking tray.
Bake in the middle shelf of the oven for 1 hour 20 minutes, turning the loaf half way through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
Once cooked, remove from the oven and cover with foil. Allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Slice the donor kebab as thinly as possible and serve with pitta, salad and Fat Free Natural Yogurt mixed with garlic.

To die for!

X

I'm so furious with myself.. Only back on the plan for less than two weeks but I need to forget it. No body magic today either.. Mainly due to lack of motivation.. Hating the 30 day shred.. But its free and easy to do at home.. Gah!! Can't wait for zumba on thursday (its free in work at school!).

Whoa whoa whoa! Don't be furious with yourself!! I have done no serious exercise this week. Even if the pecan pie was 25 syns it can totally be worked into your syns over a week - all you need to do is have one or two fewer each day. Move on. It's one day and I bet it was scrumptious and totally worth it. One piece of dessert is not going to make you gain - it's eating the whole cake or doing it every day! Chin up - you're doing fabulously.

I agree with lyrical, you're doing amazingly and she's very right in saying having it everyday or eating the entire pie would be the killer but one slice is not as bad as you feel, think of the damage that could have been done if you'd had the other stuff?! Give yourself some credit!!! X

I think I've got lucky with the cocktail... I've guestimated the syns as 100ml apple juice (2 syns), 150ml ginger ale (3 syns), 35ml vodka (4 syns) and mint tea (free).

I can't be sure on the prunes. There were 5 of them in the dish, dried and cooked, and 85g is one HexB. I reckon they were probably half that? No idea how much a dried prune weighs as I'd never tried them before.
