20 somethings

Oh Sammy that's wonderful! Gosh you put me to shame! Nate had a lot of milk still whilst weaning so I wouldn't alter you healthy extras until he is taking less milk. Hope you have some fabby weekends! And i know what you mean about a 12 at 12 etc.

Hmm.. textile design I would have a look at huddersfield. Less glam than Leeds but a stronger textiles department. My dad did textiles there (but he did industrial textiles). At least you are already in the right part of the country for textiles. I'm from Halifax (born in bradford/bingley) there are some good btec courses there. I'm a bugger because I'm too lazy for sewing. Too much paying attention. I could knit in my sleep now and just pick it up as and when.

So excited. Mum text me to say she got me an I <3 ny t shirt! Woop Woop. They are back on the ship now for the next leg.

Emily that titanium in your spine sounds nasty! But yay for the engagement ring. Really glad you are developing a healthy attitude to food. It is strange how there is so much help for smokers and alcoholics, but people with food issues are just told to eat, or stop eating so much...

OMG Fran, I live in Halifax!! How crazy is that?! xx

Hi, another twenty-something here - alright if I join you? :)

I restarted SW in mid-September in a bid to get back into a wardrobe of clothes that are now too small for me!

On the dress size conversation, I was a size 16 at just under 13 stone. I'd love to be back at a size 10 (which I was very briefly after uni, in a very active job and walking 45mins to and from work each day!) I don't think it would suit me to go much smaller as I'm quite curvy and I would hate to lose them!

Welcome to the natter house :) a size 10 oh how I dream of that on the inside of my clothes lol! :) x

Welcome aboard!

Would it be completely irrational of me to change the group I go to 'cause there's a new one started up and it's in the local football stadium where the manager of the team happens to be a childhood hero of mine and rather dishy (I promise to never use that word again)?

That would not be irrational in the slightest I would most definitely do it, I still dream of being a wag! Lol! X

Hi everyone! WI tomorrow night and I've had a dodgy belly since sat night. Just had a jacket potato for dinner tonight, not sure how I feel.

Without being too disgusting I feel like I need to 'go' but am not actually going! Feels rotten!!

I am loving being part of this thread but wondered if any of you would mind telling me a little more about yourselves? I'll go first :)

- I'm Laura, I am a primary school teacher (nursery at the mo) 23, been with OH for 8 years. Very happy and loving slimming world :) have so far lost 1st5.5lbs, and have around 3.5stone to go...I'm only 5"1 so should be around 8.5/9stone. Anything else you want to know, just ask :) xxx

I lost 1.5lbs this week! Really pleased with that :) have now lost 2 stone 10.5lbs on slimming world and 4 stone 3.5lbs in total since I had my little boy just under 6 months ago. Jack will be 6 months old on Thursday and i've just started weaning him this week, so my extra healthy extras will decrease now, so let's see how that affects the scales (if it does at all!)

I'm booked off of weigh in for the next two weeks as I have weekends planned with friends, so don't have another official weigh in until three weeks from today. I've decided that that makes it the perfect time for me to start doing the 30 day shred, as any initial potential weight gain from the sudden exercise should be gone by my next weigh in and i'm determined that next time i'm in class i WILL be getting my 3 stone award, so no slacking for me in the next three weeks! I just did the first session, and let me tell you, it felt like a lot more than 20 minutes! There's a lot packed into one session! It was hard, but not quite as bad as I was expecting, I managed to do the advanced version of everything except the push ups, but my goal is to be able to do them by the end. Hopefully it will tone me up and get me well on my way to a size 12! My bridesmaids have booked me in to go wedding dress shopping in january so i want to be as close to a size 12 as possible for then :)xx

Well done hunni that's fabulous your a weight loss machine. Is so exciting about wedding dress shopping what a great thing to look forward to in January x

Has been lovely to read more about you lovely ladies its amazing as has been said its amazing how much we have in common.

A little about me I'm Jo 26 hurtling towards 27 and from Birmingham. I live at home with parents and brother at the mo was meant to be for a brief time when I left uni but that was 2007 and apart from 6 months in a disaster of a flat I've been here ever since! I work in the nhs as a recovery practitioner in substance misuse enjoy my job most of the time but am always looking for a ww opportunity. I'm currently studying via distance learning with derby uni to complete a postgrad diploma with a view to getting a place on a clinical psychology training course afterwards. I'm single at the mo and seem to be eternally so I seem to meet all the wrong men and it always goes horribly wrong I seem to be having a case of the ex at every turn at the moment!!

Weight loss wise I have always been overweights just to varying degrees probably at my lowest at around 17 and my heaviest whilst at uni currently following ww and have been messing about really for 4 months ish but know if I had not been following a plan I would have been probably a stone heavier by now. When people ask what weight I would like to be I never know the answer as I've never been totally comfortable with my weight to know that I'm taking it a stone at a time and will get there :) x

Wow alot to catch up on welcome to all the new ladies

May aswell join you in telling all about myself (not much really) my names christie im 23 and live in worcester with my fiance, we have been together 7 years and will be getting married on our 8th anniversary in may, ive been overweight since I was 13 when I started going out drinking alot with my mates and eating late night junk food, was bullied all through secondary school and even in college and as a result I dropped out and never managed to do any further education past my gcse's, my upcoming wedding has been my motivator although I am still trying to get into sw I lost 7lb in 6 weeks and then went away for 3 weeks and gained the whole lot back, been back a week now and have lost 2lb so im back to 17st10 with around 6st to lose before I re-assess my goal weight.

Well done on everyones losses this week, good week for most which is just what we needed after last week.

Hey Christie, well done on dropping 2lbs!

Jo, your job sounds really interesting. I know what you mean about picking the wrong blokes. Give me a room full of lovely men and one douche and we all know who I'd end up with!

Sammy no ****! Where abouts? Haha, do you go to the class on pellon? Do you know kirsty stansfield?

I live in Sowerby Bridge so I go to that class on a Monday. The name rings a bell but don't know where from, is she your consultant? How about you then, do you live in Pellon? I lived there for a few years when I was a kid. When did you move over to Halifax? xx

It is interesting and rewarding but also heartbreaking and draining at times!

That's exactly like me I seem to be attracted to the total tools or ones who will fook me over at every turn you would have thought I would have learnt by now!! C

I lived in shelf then moved to barkisland (near ripponden and west vale etc) my brother lives in greetland now. Kirsty is my friend's sister, that is the class she goes to. I used to go through sowerby bridge on the way to school (north Halifax grammar). I live in Dorset now. Not been back for 6 years though. Sowerby bridge is nice. I love how non-locals pronounce it though. It was the church at sowerby bridge that I was supposed to go to for the christening last month.

Jo, i'll bet it is draining! Must be hard to not bring it home with you, but it is great you are making a difference.

Haha yeah I know, always makes me chuckle hearing how it's pronounced on the trains! Which church were you meant to be going to? St Peter's? I live just down the road from there! What a small world we live in! I went to South Halifax High (Exley), we probably have a few mutual friends! Can't believe that we've randomly met on here xx

Yes, st peter's! I now know you live near a Tesco :p I was looking up how to get there from my brother's place. Ahh, well if you know holly whitworth spit in her face from me. Haha. She lived in sowerby and was a *****. I don't know anyone who went to south Halifax, most people from my school went to ryburn. I know a few from brooksbank. Only very few though. My dad and brothers all went to crossley heath so obviously when I passed the 11+ I had to go to nhgs!

haha no i don't know a Holly, sounds like i'm lucky i don't know her too! Yup, tesco is just down the road from me :) xx

Haha, Nah, she bullied me for years. I told my mum who rung the school to say "if fran hits holly don't punish her just call me. i told her to do it because she's been bullying her." The response? The receptionist said if I hit holly she'd snap in two. Haha. I didn't hit her but I did stop her from picking on me. *laughs evilly to self* pms has a lot to answer for but sometimes we should be thankful for it.

Anyway it is far too late and if I don't go to sleep I will go eat everything. I got distracted by my book. Mum was right, I am too too much like Miranda.

I love this thread :) you guys are keeping me entertained on my commute to work no end :) hope everyone has a grand day, WI tonight, and still not 'been' !! Xx

Hey Ladies,
How's everyone? I cimpletely pigged out on Sunday night after weigh in (4 choc biscuits-16syns, a mugshot-free but I wasn't hungry, a twix-5.5 syns and THEN I ate the crusts off my sisters pizza...have I no shame?lol) So it's been back on it 100% yesterday and will be again today with no syns to get me back on track. Think I obv got peed off with having a gain on Sunday so obv the sensible reaction was to eat everything in sight lol!

Went to the gym yday after work and shall be going again this morning at some point :) Though I think I may have shin splints so I need to lay off the running machine...didn't realise that putting the gradient up would be a problem!

Hi all - Jenna don't worry about your 'pig out'. Compare it to what you would have had pre-SW and it'll seem like nothing!

Tired this morning and got a pile of work the length of my arm and then college tonight. Celtic play Barcelona tonight as well and not only am I not in Barcelona, I'm not getting to watch the game - first half at least. Urgh.

Currently hiding out in the work loos 'cause I'm feeling a bit naff.

Got the feeling that joes not gonna want to make dinner either so will be sitting with a takeaway when I get in. I will not give in!

Jenna, you can bounce back from that :) I did chuckle at you eating your sister's crusts (the crusts are Yum! Who leaves them?!) And like Clare said, what was a pre sw binge like? I tell you this, I wouldn't be counting the number of biscuits it's be the whole pack, and then more junk!

Clare you look great! I look and feel like poo... With random bits of porridge on me (guess what Nate had for breakfast). I had fruit and yogurt again... I forgot to just order enough for me and Nate. Strawberries and grapes are gone, Nate is a grape fiend. I had a morning peek and it says 16st2lbs. So it might be a 1.5lb gain this week :/ it'll come off again. Can't tell you how glad I am to have found a bus that stops outside group, only have a 15-20 minute easy walk now. No going up a big stinking hill first thing!

Clare you look fab :) Very 'ready for business' hehe! Aww I'd love a baked potato for lunch but then that would make my deccision for dinner ever harder. I have absolutely NO idea what I want to eat today ffs.

Just back from the gym, didn't burn as many calories today as I only had the treadmill on gradient 1 the whole time as my shins are really sore but I DID manage to run for 0.8 of a km and in fairness I probably could have ran 1km only I could feel the sweat dripping down my forehead and vanity won out. I'll save that for Thursday (think I'll go swimming tomorrow instead).
The distance covered in the gym today was way more than usual! 2.5km on the treadmill (in 20minutes) and 5km on the bike :)
Someone inspire me for lunch!
