2015 and It's Now or Never!

Hello Em. Its done in 5 ply on very thin needles . I think they are 2.5 mm. It was a real challenge knitting the first one.

Did it give you te history, that each village along the coast had its own pattern.

Gosh.. That is very challenging.. 4ply is too much for me.

Didn't bother to look at any other info tbh.

How's the move going now? any chance of your date yet?

Hope you.ve had a good day Mo.

Blumin' 'eck Mo - just looked them up as well and they look horrendously complicated.
The Scarborough looks relatively easy compared to some of the patterns!
How on earth do you knit it in one piece?

I'm def with Bev on that! Just can't imagine me getting thro' knitting a dolls scarf let alone a whopping great jumper with those needles and wool.

Thursday 25th April 2014

Very surprised that my weight is now 184.2.. don't think it will stay that way till Monday however..:sigh:

Phone call from my D who was very stressed as her arthritis is really playing her up recently and she gets very little help from the hospital except the patronising "there..there" comments but then the most of them are not suffering from it so they don't know what it is like.
She was also upset because she had miscalculated her times of work thinking she would be free for when I visit but as I arrive on the Friday there will be plenty of time over the w/e even if she isn't available on the Monday before I come back. She did offer for me to stay with her but I said I valued my relationship with her more and would prefer it this way.. and anyway there are things I would rather be free to do at my own convenience regarding my personal ablutions. . so we agreed to leave it at that... both of us getting rather tearful over it all and came to the agreement that the whole episode was 50/50 as far as any blame goes... happens I guess.. but so relieved that it has been brought out and finally dealt with!

Now off out for a wee while just to break the monotony of looking at these four walls..

Afternoon Em!

I'm glad the air has been cleared before your visit. Is it sunny there?

Hello Em. Im glad you and your daughter have talked and sorted out any difficulties. Its been sunny here but thick fog keeps rolling in and then it gets very cold. Hope you enjoyedbyour trip out. Mo

It was quite a surprise how things went when we were talking and it was all very brief and done with so I am indeed very happy about that.

The day was nice and warm altho' it did look as tho' it might rain so I took my coat with me just in case.
Remembered I still had my new specs to pick up so went and got those.. blinking car park meter diddled me out of money again so I shall be hunting out who to contact and putting in a complaint. :(
Went to bank to get some money in hand and as the one I used to go to has been closed this one has the most tiny car park with only a one lane entrance/exit system. Got hemmed in my a big van and then 3 other cars were trying to come in whilst the van and me were trying to get out!! .. :sigh:
Last call was Tesco... where else?! .. am quite addicted to the Alpro chocolate desserts which are soya based so they don't have to go into the fridge... really tasty they are.

I was musing on how great it always feels when on a wholesome diet and not having any haunting cravings. So today has been very good.

Evening Em,

I can't believe this country doesn't have drive thru banks. Heck - they hardly have banks.

Evening Emm,

Well done on sticking to your wholesome diet and not having cravings.:)

I do alot of my banking online and get cash usually from Sainsburys when I do my shopping or I use the cashpoint machine at Morrisons.:)

Thanks Mary.. I do my banking online as well but the cash machines I find very hard to use as being short it is difficult to see the facia unless I stand on tiptoes which I now can't do with my bad back. As for getting cash in store I usually use my Tesco C/C because I then get extra reward points for doing that but can't get cash back. When I go to the bank I do get out £100 so I have enough to last for a little while.
does seem like a lot but each fortnight I pay my home help £40 and then other odd jobs like last time was another £35 so it doesn't last for long..

Well they used to! Barclays had a few scattered around the country. They were experimental in the 90's but people vandalised them !
The last project I managed for Barclays in 2003 was to replace every single cash machine in the England and we pulled out all the drive thru' machines. They cost too much to keep working.

Find a Barclays with an HDM machine. These are designed for disabled use from a wheelchair so should be okay for you too Emm.
There aren't that many in the UK but I remember installing one somewhere in east Anglia!

Morning Em,

I hope you have a lovely Friday! Be sure to post pictures of the doll clothes when you complete them.

Good idea Bev but I think that would most probably be in the city and I don't go in there very much at all.

Evening Mel, Not been too bad today.
Weather been a bit peculiar this end.. misty rain and a bit dull.

Friday 25th April 2014

Rang my hairdresser yesterday afternoon and she very kindly squeezed me in again today so I'm all glam after a shampoo and set.
Ordered some more meds by email and the delivery man came with them this morning. Unfortunately I didn't bother to open the bag until I got back from the hairdressers and found they had only sent part of them so had to turn out again and go all the way to the surgery to pick up the rest otherwise it would be Monday before I got them.

Decided I will fly to Edinburgh in August for the Tattoo and am delighted to find that the flight will go at 5.30pm (15th) and return time 7.20pm (17th) and will be so much better than the long drawn out travel by train which I did last time... so no early morning stints..YAY!!

Had a couple of urges to scoff into something today.. really don't know why. Managed to restrain myself altho' I did change part of my planned meal and had a sausage sandwich for dinner.

Breakfast - Oats 35g + Honey 1/2Tblspn
Lunch - Crumpet 1 + Butter 6g + Cheese 21g
Snack - Nak'd Cocoa Delight Bars 2
Dinner - Sausages baked 2 + Green Beans 63g + Carrot 69g + Bread 31g + Butter 6g + Brown Sauce 20g
Supper - Alpro Chocolate Dessert 125g
Extra - Milk 240ml

Hello Em. It sounds like you had a good day. I could just eat a sausage sandwich. It was thick fog here all day and its still thick outside. it has rained a lot of today too. Mo

Evening!

I'm glad you got your hair done. I always feel better after a visit to the hairdresser. Very annoying about the medication mess up. I'm glad you were able to get it sorted. I think flying is the way to go -- it's a looooonnnnnng way to travel for a couple of days.

Thanks Mo, Sausage sandwich wasn't too much of a diversion I must admit as I was going to have some instant mash.

Yes, the hairdo does have a nice effect on the mood.
Did go to Edinburgh by train the last time I went to the Tattoo and boy was it a long tedious day.
Don't really like flying.. not the going up bit!.. but it is soo much quicker and I won't be having to drag my suitcase around either. I shall be getting assistance in Edinburgh but it seems that Norwich airport is a bit short of personnel in that department.

It's the coming down I don;t like - makes me feel really sick. And the most dangerous bit too

I lurveeeeeeeeeee having my head done. All the lovely massage when they shampoo it. I could satnd that all day long

Evening Em,

Could you use a car service to airport that would provide some assistance?

It is very nice to have someone wash your hair.

I always try to sit just behind the wing, so I can watch the flaps, and I listen intently for the landing gear to go up and come back down. Then once we're down - I'm waiting anxiously for them to reverse the thrusters. I think taking flight lessons does not help - you just know what all can go wrong.

Morning Emm - just popping in to see how you are. Well done on the weight - and on the hairdo :)

Have a good weekend.

Afternoon Em!
