A yummy (and happier and healthier) mummy - for good this time!

Hey Lisa, I wondered where you had got to, so sorry to hear you were upset :-( do you need to vent? Here anytime xx
I would feel the same re recording Reece- it might be helpful for the nursery to see how he usually behaves at home?
It must be such a worrying time for you now. I can only imagine how difficult it is to be a parent- I struggle worrying about all the animals so it must be a million times worse! Xx

How long is he at nursery for? Maybe slowly weaning him into it would help more?
I used to work at a nursery and all children are different. There were these twins and one was into anyone and everyone, and the other just quiet and in his own world.
We got him out of his shell by playing with him though.. I think he was just shocked because it was just him and his brother before, though. I wonder how he's doing now.. He was a right cutie!
but yeah, what I'm getting at is all children develop and learn at different paces. Maybe set up some play dates at home? :)

And shame that your taste buds have adapted ;) lol.

How are you feeling today? Maybe save your syns for some wine at the end of the day? :)

And Rosie, I like JWB although I don't feed it myself. (Sham just had the runs on it. Typically vets tried to sell me Hills though.. I hate Hills though and would never feed such a low grade food. But yeah I just don't think the flavour we got agreed with her.) I asked about raw feeding because I used to feed it myself. :) However Arya kept gaining weight after her first heat, and lowering her amount of Raw didn't help, so we Switched to Millies instead. Although I do feed Applaws some times as well.. :) She's now my skinnycheeks, not my chubbycheeks. Haha.

Ahh that's a shame that it didn't agree with your dog! There definitely seems to be preferences, like my cat much prefers the fish to any other, but the dog hates the fish one! There is a satisfaction guarantee so you can return the bag (75% full) and swap it or get a refund. Though if you & dogs are happy with what you're doing, I'd stick with it! I'm a rubbish salesperson lol. I think with the raw feeding/high protein you do have to watch the weight, as you quite rightly say they can lose quickly!
Good idea re play dates and a slower introduction btw. I can imagine it would be quite a lot for a little one to get their head round.
Hope you're feeling better today Lisa xx

Thanks girls :) Am feeling a lot better today. My depression is riding me like a yoyo at the moment!

Of course not being at work today is helping!! Just need to work on my CV so I can apply for a few internal positions and get me off the phone lines.

Feeling more positive with Reece too- been reading on development issues and autism, especially as Reece seems to have found wheels and spinning fascinating recently. But I read that all children go through a stage like that and its one of their learning schematics. He shows a couple of other symptoms, but most children do and he doesn't show enough for concern or intervention. His main social skills are fine- apart from the babbling at nursery.

He had settling sessions with us there but they have said he's slowly coming out of his shell. He made a noise yesterday and I think that's when they noticed they hadn't heard him babble before. Doesn't help that he only goes one day a week but at the moment we can't afford to increase his sessions.

He does have plenty of playdates- I go to groups at least every Wednesday and Friday. He is fine there because im there and they are familiar children every week.

Sorry to keep going on about my child!! Just feels better to get it written down and then I realise in some instances I'm being a little neurotic!!

Get it all off your chest! Writing it down is always good for perspective :)
It sounds like he's just taking a little time to come out of his shell- everyone's different and he might just be a little shy in new situations?
It sounds like he has good fun at your play dates, and its good that you bother yourself to take him, there's plenty that wouldn't! It's got to be good to mix with other kids.
Good luck with the CV, fingers crossed you can get off the phone lines. A friend of mine is signed off with anxiety/OCD/depression and worked in a call centre. I don't think it's a coincidence- such a stressful environment xx

Thanks for the kind words Rosie.
He is quite cautious- prefers to watch for a little while before participating. Its the same with food- doesn't like to try new things straight away!

Had a toddler group today and he was shouting away and chasing some children on ride on toys! Kept looking around for me though- then he'd spot me, give me a beaming grin and then carry on playing.

Forgot my sweetener again :( Waste of a syn.

Todays food-
B: Couple of grapes (fed to me by Reece)
L: Bachelors mushroom and garlic high veg pasta n sauce (made with water and skimmed milk part hexA). BIG fruit salad (mango, half a satsuma, plum, kiwis).
D: 3 x Tesco light choices sausages 3syns. Crushed potatoes with onion and cherry tomatoes. Carrots and green beans.

Snacks: Quavers 4.5syns. Banana. Special K chewy bar hexB.
Drinks: Cups of tea (1 with 1tsp sugar 1syn, others with sweetener and skimmed milk part hexA). Coke zero. Carling zest 5syns (whilst watching Arsenal beat the pants off the opposition!)
Syn Total- 13.5syns

No problem, sounds like he has a good attachment to you bless him. Maybe he just needs a little time :) hope the reading has put your mind at rest re development.
Mm your tea tonight sounds nice! And filling too :) I'm going to try stuffed peppers tomorrow a la you & MC! There's a recipe in the mag I'm gonna follow. Will let you know how I get on... X

Hope your stuffed peppers turn out nice Rosie!

And Reece sounds like a normal child to me, he just loves his Mummy. :)

Food sounding great like normal. :D

Sorry for not popping in yesterday.. I didn't go online much, lol.

Hope you enjoy your stuffed peppers Rosie!

Usual Thursday activity- went for a walk down the shops and visited the greengrocer- got 3 peppers for 50p and a really odd looking variation of melon!!

Nice bit of body magic though- especially seems as its been unseasonably warm! Might be an explanation why I've been incredibly thirsty today as well!

Todays food-
B: Nothing.
L: Ham roll (60g WM roll, ham, cucumber and 1tbsp light salad cream 1syn). Satsuma. Banana.
D: Chicken breast coated in schwartz spices. 3 x stuffed mushrooms (large flat mushrooms, 75g phili light 6syns, garlic, onion, bacon and 25g reduced fat cheddar 4syns)

Snacks: Apple. Kiwi. Plum.
Drinks: Generic regular skinny mocha (skimmed milk hexA and cocoa 3syns). Water. Coke zero. 2 x cups of tea (sweetener and dashes of skimmed milk 1syn) Flavoured fizzy water.
Syn Total- 15syns

Haha! Trying to think of something to include on the front of the invites- rather than the boring peel on "wedding invitation", which although nice I have had two invites this year with them used! Thinking something along the lines of a nice quote in script- seriously considering "Happiness is marrying your best friend" which is fitting as me and h2b were the best of friends before becoming a couple.

Todays food-
B: Nothing.
L: Ham roll (60g WM roll hexB, ham and 25g phili light part hexA) with tesco tomato and onion pasta n sauce.
D: Olde el paso stand and stuff soft taco kit (2 x stand and stuff soft tacos 8syns, 1/2 packet seasoning 2syns, extra lean mince beef, onions, bell pepper, kidney beans, cherry tomatoes and 25g reduced fat cheddar part hexA) Was sooo good. Although next time I may add a little chilli or jalapeños as it was quite mild. I still have more than half a kit left!!

Snacks: Half a satsuma. Apple. 2 x kiwis. Banana.
Drinks: Water. Flavoured fizzy water. 3 x cups of tea (sweetener and dashes of skimmed milk 1.5syns)
Syn Total- 11.5syns

Considering a multipack bag of space raiders or tesco mini popcorn each being 3syns but so stuffed from my dinner! I made so much of the meat mix I actually had a bowl of it without the soft tacos for seconds!

Ahh good to see the stand & stuff thingies aren't unacceptable syns wise- ill pick some up next time they're on offer!
I only had a picture on the front of mine- no words at all- but I like the idea of a quote! Happiness really is marrying your best friend- and it sounds very appropriate for you too!
I also like 'All you need is love' or 'Love is all you need'- cliche but true!
Or maybe a song lyric that is fitting?
Ooh I love all this wedding stuff!! X

Grrr just got my shopping delivered from Asda (we usually shop at Tesco but there were some good deals at Asda this week) and I ordered <5% fat mince but they didn't have any so gave me 12% fat instead :( So annoying!
And I ordered a white cabbage so I can make some coleslaw but they gave me a green one!

Realised again why I generally buy from Tesco!

I seem to have lost my book so anyone know the syn value for the 12% mince beef?
