Right, gulp, I'm back.
Now it all went wrong at the weekend. OH persuaded me to buy some new scales, as in all honesty I did know that mine were 'generous' as weighing at Boots now and then always added a few pounds.
Stepped on the new scales and it flashed up 173.4lb. So 6.4lbs up on the old ones. ABSOLUTELY GUTTED. Had a bit of a tantrum, crying and everything. Ridiculous I know and OH was stating the obvious that I haven't actually GAINED that much in one trip to Argos, but the numbers really upset me as that's a third of my SW success gone just like that. I guess that psychologically it was a massive blow and made me realise that I am still very close to obesity and have another 2 stone to lose, which even if I am 100% is going to take another 6 months or more because I know that I am not a fast loser and 1lb a week as an average is the best I can do.
Then on Sunday I flew to Belgium for work and proceeded to eat and drink with a vengeance...
To be honest, where I had a choice (evening meals at restaurants) I did stick to SW-ish food, but I drank copious amounts of lager each evening and at lunch time the supplier I was working with provided baguette slices spread with various stuff and I couldn't really get out of that (and it was nice, and I was already drinking thousands of syns, so ***k it...).
Anyhow, last night, I landed at Manchester airport and bought a not-very-healthy dinner to have on the train home. And halfway through a tub of spicy couscous salad, bottle of apple juice and a bag of hula hoops I realised that crisps really aren't that nice, and that I prefer to eat SW-food and home-made salads and meals after all. I don't know if the junk food and overeating is just some messed up self-punishment thing or what but I know I don't need it and don't need to be stuffed full of food all the time to feel OK. I don't know why the urge to do it sneaks up but there's no reason or excuse for it, I just have to be stronger than it.
As a result I am now on a mission to stick to plan 100% until Christmas day and to make an effort to cook new things and be a bit more adventurous. Maybe the fact that I have been eating very same-y lazy stuff for weeks while I have only been cooking for one has been a factor in me cheating so much recently??
Going to erase all my ticker and stuff and start from scratch, as I can't bear the thought of taking 7lb off my progress, and I shouldn't have to either because I HAVE lost 23lbs in 24 weeks, it's just that the start and end mark have shifted slightly now.
And my new goal is to be below the 170lb mark by Christmas - déjà bloody vu!
(Not off to a good start though as a post-Belgium WI this morning said 176.2... hoping it's all the alcohol and flying which have caused water retention, but we'll see come Monday
