Advice for the PrawnchopSuey

Hi Meli,

I use the rice pudding recipe from the comfort food book that came with the last mag... Off the top of my head it's 1.5 pints semi skimmed milk, half a pint of water, and 170g pudding rice... Just simmer it on the stove until it thickens (20-25 mins) then add some sweetener / ginger / cinnamon / nutmeg / whatever takes your fancy :) I count the whole lot as free but 4 HexAs.

I think the skinny girl with the big eyes who is good at maths might win - she does well to keep out of the whinging and arguing. Or the tall blonde lady who led the boys last week. None of the men are appealing much as yet...
I'm not very good at names!

Thanks for the rice pudding recipe...will have to try this soon for a good night time snack :)

I like the one who wanted to volunteer to be project manager on Melissa's team and one of the tall blonde ladies. This program is the highlight of our week :)

Hi hun, don't beat yourself up over yesterday, you could easily have eaten all the wrong things, as long as you were hungry then it doesn't matter. Have a lovely weekend xx

Thanks Lou :)

Had a nice weekend, had some friends over last night and I made SW lasagne (1 meat and 1 veg). I didn't drink any alcohol and avoided any garlic bread, although I had some ciabatta but I'm counting it as HexBs...
OH had far too much to drink and as a result we have had a very very lazy day today. PJs and sofa :)
Did play squash yesterday though :)

:) Sunday - green

Brunch - toast (HexB x 2), eggs, beans, quorn sausages. Oink oink ;)

Snack - carrot, mini dairy milk (4 syns)

Dinner - leftover filling from the veg lasagne (onion, passata, peppers, mushrooms, baby sweetcorn, chopped toms), grated cheese (HexA)
Curly wurly (6 syns)

Total syns: 10

Good luck for WI today.
And well done on your 100% week - you've done really well. I've had a naughty week while feeling sorry for myself being ill. So I'm determined to do 100% from today until Saturday xx

1lb off this week - just about ;)

Got a day off today so since it was nice and sunny this morning (but icy cold) I went out and did one of the week 1 workouts from the couch to 5k plan. I would like to say I'll stick at the plan but it's not the same going out in the dark after work...
Anyhow, I managed it (5 mins walking, 20mins of 60s jogging, 90s walking, 5 mins walking) which surprised me, but I will admit I was VERY out of puff by the end (and it was only 8 mins of running with lots of breaks!!)!

Congratulations on your loss!!
And well done on your superduper exercise too... in the chilly wind brrr...

Thanks Sarah - and good luck for your 100% week :)
I'm going to try 100% till Friday because Friday night I am going to Frankie and Benny's for a hen do... Think I'm going to wear a corset though so that'll stop me eating too much!

:) Monday - green

Brunch - 3 scan brans (HexB), cottage cheese, mixed salad (mixed leaves, pepper, cucumber, caeser dressing - 1 syn)

Snack - banana
Homemade biscuit - 5 syns

Dinner - leftover veg lasagne (HexA)
2 scan bran (rest of HexB) with peanut butter (4 syns)
Fibre plus bar (HexB)

Total syns: 10

Since I've been off today I ventured to Holland and Barretts and picked up some scan bran to try and shake up my HexBs a bit. 5 does seem like a LOT just for one HexB, especially when they're not the nicest, but that should be good for a hungry day as I can pick on scan bran and cottage cheese without maxing out my syns.

congrats on the pound!

Thank you :)

:) Tuesday - green

Breakfast - banana, apple, pear

Lunch - couscous and roast veg

Snacks - apple, pear, carrot, homemade biscuit (5 syns)

Dinner - Seafood carbonara with pasta (HexB x 2 for prawns and mussels, HexA for philidelphia)

Total syns: 5

Did my Steps DVD this evening and am going to pop the Slendertone on in a sec :)

:) Wednesday - green

Breakfast - banana, apple, pear

Lunch - tomato pasta mugshot, 3 scan bran (HexB) with cottage cheese

Snack - carrot, homemade biscuit (5 syns), velvet crunch crisps (4 syns)

Dinner - Italian tomato pasta salad (HexB for oil)
Rice pudding (HexA) with ginger

Total syns: 9

No exercise tonight - just slendertone, it's TV night :)
Melissa to get fired I hope!!

Haven't watched it before tonight - and I HATE Melissa already!!

When you're doing your rice pudding, do you do a portion and then pop the rest in the fridge? I'm always concerned when it comes to reheating rice and I looooveee rice pudding!

Dont mean to but in but i had rice pudding the other day and i just made sure i cooled it quickly with frozen veg bags and then had it the next day cold and it was fine! I am quite senstiive to food and was fine with it, it was really nice for breakfast, might make some more soon!

I leave it to cool down then fridge it. The beasties that can grow in rice do so at room temp so while the rice is cooling down it's too hot to get 'infected' ;)
I then zap it in the microwave at work the next day for breakfast, with chopped banana (which I guess might accidently become 'cooked' rather than warmed but I don't syn it ;) ). Lush :)

Then again, I don't have the greatest food hygiene ethos - use by dates are a joke to me, as is how long you can keep stuff in the freezer... I never get ill and I've never poisoned anyone, so take it all with a pinch of salt :)

Yesterday I just made one portion though because at the moment I can't be trusted with batch cooking, it all gets eaten right away. Oink oink :(

I'm the same - tend to just sniff everything before I eat it :p !!

I am so glad Melissa got fired - she was SOOO annoying !!! Think I've found a new programme to become addicted to...

it's so entertaining that these people who are already in really good jobs and probably earn four times what I do, come on a programme and make themselves look like fools and totally unemployable!
I was so glad that the skinny blonde girl (Liz! I now know her name) did so well with the babygros as I have liked her since the beginning. She's always really on the ball and just gets on with it without all the *****y power struggles that the other women seem to have ALL the time. It's very early to say, but I think she might be my favourite to win it! :)
