Advice for the PrawnchopSuey

Hey!
Sorry to hear about your new scales and the shift in weight. I can understand how disappointed you must have felt. But like the others have said, you have actually lost all the weight that you thought you had :)

I agree about feeling good getting back on track after a few days off plan. Glad you're enjoying the 100% days :D

Thanks hun, am so made up for you and your job :)

:) Sunday - red

Brunch - 5 scan bran (HexB) - 3 with philidelphia (HexA), cucumber and cherry toms, 2 with peanut butter (4 syns) and banana

Dinner - ginger and soy marinated tuna steaks (HexB for sesame oil - is that allowed?!) with stir-fried veg.
Fromage frais and frozen blackberries
Mini twirl (6 syns)

Total syns: 10

Technically not but I won't say anything!
That tuna sounds lovely, i'm going to try a fishy week again once I've been paid so may be pinching that idea...

hiya prawny lady, how are you? Argh, peanut butter.. now I've read it on your diary I want some! Hope you've had a nice weekend, good work on the exercise, I seem to have forgotten the way to the gym at the moment? xx

Hi Lou, thanks for popping by, I am getting dangerously addicted to peanut butter at the moment! But if it keeps me off the chocolate it can't be too bad!

Found a ginger and soy tuna recipe from the latest mag, so made that with NO sesame oil, but with added chilli flakes, and had some noodles as my second HexB (Aargh, that's not allowed on red either, but don't tell ;) )

Put some of the fromage frais / berry mixture in the freezer for later in the week - think that's going to become my new addiction!! :)

Scales said 171lb this morning, so 3lb less than when I first got the new scales :)
Aiming for another 2lb off this week to bring me below the 170 mark again - even 1.5lb would do ;)

Well done hun!! Shows how determined you've been to get right back on track

Thank you ladies - only 4lbs to go until I am back to old-scale-weight :)
...just please don't let the new scales break and make me get some new ones, as I couldn't cope with another 6lbs on!!

:) Monday - green

Already eaten:

Breakfast - banana mid-morning

Lunch - leftover three bean chilli, pear, carrot, alpen light bar (half HexB)

Planned:

Snack - apple, alpen light bar (other half HexB)

Dinner - baked beans and cheese (HexA)
slice of toast (HexB) with peanut butter (4 syns)

Total syns: 4

Got my college course 6-9.30 tonight hence the bowl of beans for tea!

Well, last night I made quorn pasta bolognese for dinner instead of just beans! HexB for oil and HexA for grated parmesan. No peanut butter but had a mini twirl for 6 syns. Scales 0.2lb up today, grrr.

Plan for today = red day
Fruit for breakfast
prawn salad, scan bran (HexB) and philidelphia (HexA) for lunch
carrots and fruit for snacks
Cheesy crust haddock (HexA) for dinner with sugarsnap peas and chips (HexB)
SW ice cream for afters
Mini twirl as a snack (6 syns)

Was going to have sausage and BNS mash for dinner but this morning caught sight of the fish in the fridge that I was meant to freeze when I got home from the supermarket as it was reduced / about to expire, so I better have that sooner rather than later! That's what I get for letting OH help unpack the shopping ;)
Will try and get to the gym tonight too and suss it out. I'm worried that it will be a very male gym, if you know what I mean, but hopefully they'll all be in the weights room and the cardio room will just be empty! :)

Good luck at the gym tonight, I'm sure it'll be fine for you.
I'm doing a fishy week next week - how are you making the cheesy crust haddock?

In the past I have mixed fromage frais (your favourite ;) ) with grated cheese, oregano, crushed chillis, whatever herbs or spices I feel like really. I added red curry paste once and it was lush. I don't really like parsley but that's probably a more traditional choice!
Grill fish on one side, turn and smother in the mixture before grilling till golden.
You could probably use phili instead of fromage frais...
I did add breadcrumbs once but couldn't taste a big difference for the syns :)

Ah I wouldn't mind fromage frais like that so much... sounds nice but I prob would spend a couple of syns and use philly instead! Might have to try that out next week - thanks!

:) Tuesday - red

Breakfast - banana mid-morning

Lunch - prawn salad (lettuce, cucumber and cheery toms), 5 scan brans (HexB) with philidelphia (HexA)

Snack - carrot

Dinner - River cobbler (cheap fish) with cheesy leek sauce (HexA plus 6 syns), SW chips (HexB) and sugarsnap peas
SW ice cream

Total syns: 6

Ended up making a cheesy leek sauce to pour over the fish instead of doing a crust.
So probably about 6 syns for the milk and cornflour, plus the HexA for the cheese. Did not have the twirl though so still only 6 syns for the day :)
I think the SW ice cream might be better made fresh each time as the tub in the freezer was rock hard and didn't really go back to how it was (Mr. Whippy-ish consistency). Maybe I'm just too impatient and didn't leave it to soften long enough!

Well, I had a bit of a wibble about trying out the gym but OH guilt tripped me so I went, and it was fab - there was one other person in the whole cardio room, and he left after about 10 minutes of my arrival (I have that effect ;) ) so I could wobble away without feeling self-conscious at all! I did 5km on the treadmill, alternating 90 seconds of walking with 60 seconds of running.
Still took 43 minutes, which I think most people could manage by just walking, but it made me sweat a bucket and I'm sure a mixture of running and walking burns more calories.
Aim to go back on Thursday to repeat that session :)

Ok, so plan for today is:
Banana for breakfast
Leftover quorn pasta bol followed by fruit for lunch
Alpen lights and carrots as snacks
Jacket potato, beans and cheese (HExA + HexB) for dinner, followed by SW ice cream and the Apprentice :)
Maybe a mini twirl to get some syns in, but no gym as it's TV night ;)

Well done for braving the gym - glad it wasn't as bad as you thought it might be. Well done for sticking at your red days - have you been feeling hungry?

Well, I've been alternating red and green so that I don't have to go too long without my carbs! Also having scan bran as a HexB on red which is really filling.
Sounds like you've been enjoying your expenses in Leeds! Are you there again tonight because the Christmas lights are going on tonight and Shane Ward and McFLy will be there and everything. Errr, I think I might be missing it ;)

:) Wednesday - green

Breakfast - banana

Lunch - leftover quorn pasta bolognese, raw carrots, apple

Snack - apple, pear, 2 alpen light bars (HexB)

Dinner - jacket potato with beans and cheese (HexB + HexA)
Mini twirl (6 syns)
Velvet cruch crisps (4 syns)

Total syns: 10

Stuck completely to plan but had a bag of crisps to munch on later on, still only 10 syns for the day so not a tragedy!

:) Thursday - red

Breakfast - banana mid-morning

Lunch - prawn salad (lettuce, cucumber, cherry toms), 5 scan bran (HexB) with philidelphia (HexA)

Snacks - carrots, 2 Alpen light bars (HexB)

Dinner plan - quorn sausages with BNS mash (HexA for phili in mash)
[STRIKE]
Mini twirl, post-gym ;) (6 syns)
[/STRIKE]

Didn't have the twirl in the end, but probably went over my HexA cheese amounts so I'm sure I did have some syns...
Went to the gym and managed 5km on the treadmill in 41 minutes 7 seconds - 2 minutes faster than Tuesday. Am knackered now, off to bed with wet hair so tomorrow will be a treat of a bad hair day

Hello!

Just having a quick nosey at your diary and noticed you're doing red days- are they fairly easy on a veggie diet? How do they work? I know you're not totally veggie but it seems from your diary that you mostly are, so I wondered if you could give me any advice about how to do red days. I think I need to mix things up a bit! xx
