I've bought a netbook and it arrived today! So am typing this post on it as I suss it all out. It seems a lot slower than my laptop, which is 5 years old itself, so I'm not amazingly impressed, but it is a lot smaller and lighter so will be better for when I go away with work. I'll get OH to delete all the unecessary programmes and stuff and see if it goes abit faster :)

Hey,

Menus are looking great for this week! Thanks again for the reminder on my diary that Phillidelphia is just a HB, not a HA :)

Oh yes, I'd love to see your sugar carnations! I'm trying to find a course myself.... but I may wait till the summer or september term to start. While looking at courses though I found one called cooking with chocolate :) he he, that'd be fun!

Do you get your mini crunchie's in a multipack of crunchies or is it a mixed cadbury bag of different bits ?

Not a bad dinner but your not having very many syns make sure of your on green your having all of your HEB's and HEA's

You might be like me with carbs I cant lose if I eat too much so I stick to 75-100g pasta and 50-75g rice and I have wholemeal pasta, and swap my pots for sweet pots as often as I can.

Hmmm I just realised your having some sort of pasta everyday!! If I did that I know I would gain. I try to even out my pasta rice and potatoes, because if I have too much of rice or pasta I always gain. so i try to even them out. Like today I had pasta, so tomoz I am having pots.

Hmmm I just realised your having some sort of pasta everyday!!

You just made me realise too! Thanks for coming and having a look. I don't think I do every week, would often have beans on a Monday but was all out of baked beans this week, and I've never really considered noodles as pasta... whole different continent and all ;)
All my rice and pasta is brown though, tastes so much more real somehow.

I don't weigh any of my carbs, which is one of the big reasons that I can cope with SW but think I would struggle with other diets. I think that 'feeling deprived' is a big stumbling block for me, even if it's all in my head!

I know that a 1lb a week loss is achievable for me, so maybe the carb overload is what stops me losing more, but I think I would rather lose slower and stick at it for longer, than be stringent, have some fab losses but give up as I was finding it hard to stick to. If you see what I mean. You have better self control than me!!!

I have also had the occasional week where I alternate red and green but it didn't help my losses at all, so I gave up on that one!

Are sweet potatoes less calorific than regular potatoes?

:) Thursday - green

Breakfast - rice pudding (HexA) with banana

Lunch - BNS soup, 2 ryvita with 25g philidelphia (HexB), apple

Dinner - Quorn sausages, mashed potato and gravy (3 syns)
Fibre plus bar (HexB), mini dairy milk (4 syns), tangerine

silvermane makes a good point there, i love my carbs, esp pasta, but i eat about 1/3 of the portion that i used to eat before SW, the good thing about having the obvious pointed out is that if you meet a plateaux in weight loss you can reduce your carbs to give your metabollism a nudge... so like me, whilst the losses are coming, enjoy!

i love sweet pots, they are really good with a tablespoon of mango chutney (thanks Jamie O for this tip) a tablespoon goes a long long way as they are much smaller than regular pots, they also make great wedges and Hev (funcurls) has got me into sweet pot with a laughing cow mashed in and a side salad for lunch

sweet pots are higher in fibre by almost 3 x so they are better for you, and wont bloat you as much.

Like donna said, at least if your aware of it you have the option to reduce your portion. I only reduced mine by 25g. I didnt even notice it but my waistline did! I have brown too! I love the taste of it, its so much better than it used to taste. I find a lot of white crabs make me bloated and my stomach feels uncomfortable. I try to have a different type of carb everyday, and I try not to have a carb in my lunch, all the time. I have hypothyroidism, and I just dont cope with loads of carbs.

I didn't know that about sweet potato - I guess sweet vs. regular potatoes is a bit like the difference between brown / white rice and pasta then. Bring on the sweet potatoes!!!

Well, I'm not doing well this week, scales are showing 1lb up so far and I'm away for the weekend so it looks set to be an even bigger gain by Monday :(
I'm not going to let it ruin my weekend though. There's always the next week to shake it off :)

Hi hun, enjoy your weekend and don't worry about that pound, get plenty of shopping done and you'll soon burn it off x

Hope you're having a great weekend. You might surprise yourself on the scales as a weekend away jiggles up the normal routine and surprises your body!! :)

Morning folks, well I have suprised myself.... GAINED 3lbs!!! Grrr.
I didn't even think I was THAT off plan...And there was plenty of body magic ;)

Ho hum, I'm hoping that the gain is largely due to alocohol as I drink so rarely, and that I will lose it all this week.

On the plus side, I bought some lovely new dresses from Dorothy Perkins and they're size 14s - yay! I also tried a size 14 skirt on and couldn't do it up but we'll forget about that one ;)

How it all went:

Friday - green

Breakfast - rice pudding (HExA) and banana

Lunch - BNS soup

Snack - apple, tangerines

Dinner - caser salad with poached egg, aubergine and tomato bake with potato topping, wild berry cheesecake, 2 vodka n diet cokes, half bottle wine

Saturday - off plan
Breakfast - bacon, sausage, baked beans, scrambled egg, hash brown and 1 piece whole meal toast

Dinner - goats' cheese and red onion tartlet, spaghetti carbonara, sticky toffee pudding, 2 vodka n diet cokes, half bottle wine

Sunday - EE

Breakfast - baked beans, scrambled egg, sausage, bacon, hash brown, toast (HExB plus lots of syns for the grease!)

Dinner - mixed bean chilli with brown rice and grated cheese (HexA)
Twix (14 syns)

So I was bad, but not 3lbs bad. Must get rid this week :)

Mmm all the food sounds lovely!! Especially the hotel breakfast - you just can't beat it!!
Don't worry I'm sure that 3lb will come off next week, most important thing is that you had a good time x
