V good way of looking at it A! And i justify mine because i don't want a hip replacement at 30!! I have decided, no running today and tomorrow is a boxing day anyway (whether i can lift my leg off the ground to kick anything remains to be seen!) and sunday IF im not in any pain i will run along the river in Eton as its nor road so will be less rough on the joints. Xx

Ps u know we just end up talking to eachother kn two or three threads at once?! Makes me chuckle-does it still count as multi tasking?!!

You need to not exercise on an injury! You know that ;-)

Ps: I know... It's funny lol! Yep it counts because men couldn't keep up with it :-D xx

I think you two are nuts....... my kids and DH cheer if I just run across a road, thats about my limit!!

Just realised how rambling that sounds... I'm not drunk I promise lol! ;-) xx

Ok Ladies... To add to this mornings ramblings!!

I'm trying to decide if!!!??? I have the guts to go on holiday by myself?

At Xmas I always have my son for Christmas and then his dad takes him skiing for new year (I know - lucky bugger!) so this year (as the school holidays fall funny) I'll be free from the 28th December until 7th January! All of my close friends are in relationships so I'll be struggling for something to do on NYE unless i gooseberry along! (plus can't really face the expensive, drunken charade that Is Broad Street on NYE - £30 to get in anywhere, £10 a drink and £50 for a cab each way!!!)

Sooooo.... I've been thinking about catching some wintersun (as I didn't get any sun this summer!) and head off abroad for a week on my own! I've done some research (I love Tripadvisor!) and found an affordable all inclusive hotel in Tunisia. Reviews are fabulous - looked especially at solo travellers who all rated it as friendly and safe etc :) And I can get a week, with flights, all inclusive for under £400!!! (I'll spend nearly that much on NYE lol!)

So my questions are... Am I brave enough to go it alone? Have any of you ladies ever done it? What do I do at night? Etc?!!!!

I'm just a little scared that I'll get there feel lonely and want to come home lol! But surely better to be lazing in the sun alone than sat in Brum alone????

Answers in a postcard please!!!

Defiantly do it u will meet loads of people that way xxxxx and u can do what u want when u want x

A. Yes you are brave and fabulous enough and you will have a brilliant time :D

B. I would question Tunisia though - have you been? I hated it (it was about 12 or so years ago though) and it wasn't particularly nice/friendly/safe when you ventured outside the hotels.

C. Have you heard of and/or considered Spice? There's a really active Brum group and they do loads of stuff at Christmas and New Year.

Morning, firstly I would advise against Tunisia as a woman travelling alone  Def not putting a dampner on your Hol plans but I went in my early twenties with my best friend and we didn't venture out of the hotel after the first night , enough said. What I would advise is a Travel Company that specialise in single travel, there are loads, my Mum was contemplating travelling alone when she went to Rome a few months back (we recently lost my Dad) she found loads of reputable looking companies that she would have been happy to go with, in the end her sister was able to go, but she felt more at ease going with a company that dealt with singles as she didn't want to be a gooseberry, surrounded by couples on her holiday . Def go though you will have a fab time whatever you decide x

A. Thank you :)

B. Wouldn't normally consider Tunisia but its affordable (BIG consideration), hotel has great reviews (not many do in my price range) and I'm not intending on leaving the hotel unless on an organised trip! I'm intending on lying by pool, reading and drinking cocktails lol!

C. I'm already a member of Spice :-D I do loads with them but their holidays abroad are sooooo expensive and the only things they have in uk this year for NYE are walking breaks... Not my idea of a NYE party lol! I need sunshine :)

Thanks P xxxx

All the solo travel companies are soooo expensive - my budget is around £400 so limited options :-( But as I said to P - in not really planning on going out of hotel much! I just want to laze by the pool and relax :) plus solo travel companies are a bit organised for my liking!

Thanks for the advice though! I will think about what you've said.

My friend has recommended an independant Travel Counsellor who arranges holidays for you - will no charge! So thinking I might talk to her? X

Quick reply as gotta shower before i make myself late...but yes yes and yay to the holibob. Ultimate in being a fab independent lady ;-) But i too would be a bit iffy re tunisia. Cpl of female friends have had bad experiences and they were not on their own.

Be back for proper chats later xxxxx
