At goal & now beyond... 5:2 officially rocks!

See I plan to fast 1 day a week to maintain & see if if works. It does for my mum.

Scales 11:6:5 this morning with an up day today & tomorrow's fast to go so unless today's tdee up day does any harm it's looking like I'll see a loss... Still struggling to believe eating this much I can lose weight, just seems wrong

Good number on the scales Hun xx

Yeah although am now thinking looking at previous weeks & fluctuations I may actually have a sts but that's ok. I think what Tracy said about us ex chublets not being able to eat as much may be true

I also watched that documentary and it depressed me. The lower levels of leptin and adaptive thermogenesis can mean that people who have dieted to a healthy weight may have a lower RMR than someone who has always been a healthy weight. The TDEE calculators online are a kind of one size fits all though and just as 2 people of the same height and weight can be a different dress size and shape their TDEE can be different too. Apparently for a more accurate TDEE you should use your body fat percentage in conjunction with your age, height, weight and lifestyle. There have been some reports though that intermittent fasting ....in women in particular...can actually raise levels of leptin and help maintain a healthier RMR. Fasting also tends to burn a higher percentage of fat than muscle than some diets and this helps too. Apparently body fat percentage is a big deal! One other plus of fasting that I learnt when looking into things after watching this a few months back is that fasting decreases a hormone that stimulates hunger...maybe why after a DD I'm not always starving and don't even need breakfast. Wouldn't worry about it too much, no point anticipating trouble that might not happen....that's my thinking!!

1600ish up day with lots of steps & Zumba today. Looking like a sts come Thursday but it's ok it will probably just show that like people have said earlier I can't eat my tdee which to be honest I think I knew so back to 15-1600 from Thursday which is no great hardship! I'm happy that I tried it though. Just means I have 4 weeks to lose the 6lb for my school mummy's night out.... I'm out on Friday night too but not drinking, we're eating at a Thai but think I'm going for the Thai beef salad

Oh I'm not saying don't eat your TDEE....I'm all for eating it! Will be interesting to see your weigh in result...I predict a loss for you. When they did the study on intermittent fasting people generally ate 20% more than their TDEE on non fast days when eating till they were satisfied without counting...and they lost weight. I think you're doing great x

Well I'm 11:6:75 this morning & fasting today so may have a small loss tomorrow but it will be small, I normally lose 1-1.25lb on Wednesday fast but that's with exercise & I'm in bed with a bad head today so I'm predicting a sts so I'll be back to lower up days from tomorrow. I'm ok with that though I genuinely don't think I've ever been happier with a way of eating & it is so easy to fit in around life as you can move your fasts & socialise so much easier cos of up days. This is week 14 & I feel so much better

Just done my measurements & since 6th Feb I've lost 10.5" in total, waist alone is 2.5" smaller. That's made me very happy this poorly morning, I'm now gonna try & sleep my headache away

Brilliant measurements! This is the easiest way I have ever eaten too and the only time I have thought that something is sustainable long term. Hope your head is better soon, sending you healing vibes x

Am gutted (& can't believe I'm saying this) that a size 16 is too big. I got the most gorgeous wide leg trousers on eBay navy with a little white spot & they're too big! I've rolled the waist band over which makes them a bit better but I am gutted cos love them! Only paid 99p for them too. May wear them out on Friday night to make sure I get to wear them before they fall down lol

I know this feeling, there are things in my wardrobe that I'm gutted to be waving goodbye to but soooo glad at the same time. Might be worth looking in to having them altered if it wouldn't end up making them in to a really expensive pair at the same time.

I was thinking the same cos I love them so much I wouldn't actually mind if they did cost a fair bit to do. I've got a really good alteration woman I'm gonna ring her & arrange her to look at them

Edited to show you, I think I can get away with pulling them up simon cowellesque, what do you think?
