At goal & now beyond... 5:2 officially rocks!

I've been saying to people for forever that you don't need to diet on non fast days. The beauty of this way of eating is that the fast days do all the hard work for you. I know it's hard to trust it but your body will adjust and you will lose. I've eaten my TDEE at least on UDs since the start...and it's worked. You need to relax and not panic...we'll all chip in to get something to steady your nerves :p

I've obsessively calorie counted for so long though it's so hard to let go but what's the worst that can happen hey x

I reckon I had at least 2000 calories on every one of my up days this week and still lost 2 pounds although I do have more to lose than you.

It is lots of food but maybe try some nuts, they are lots of calories but good for you. Xx Sent from my GT-I8190 using MiniMins.com mobile app

Yeah may do that Tuesday, have some from my graze box actually

I've just realised my birthday is a Wednesday hmmmmm not fasting on my bday so will need to play with days that week & change weigh in day possibly to the Friday & fast Thursday

Not sure how much back to back fasts do for you. Maybe weigh Friday, will keep you on the straight and narrow on your birthday, fast straight after your birthday gets you straight back on track.

I used to be really obsessive about calories. I wouldn't touch a diet drink unless I knew if it had 1 or 3 calories in it. I not only knew exactly how many calories I was eating I'd mentally tot up how much everyone else had on their plate too. I was awful. Even now I can sometimes slip back to it. I watched secret eaters last week and at the bit where the nutritionists say how many calories are in the people's meals before they change their diets I had correctly guestimated the calories of the plates of food to within 50 calories. I realised before it's not a healthy mindset though and am trying to get away from it. I don't want to be obsessively counting calories and weighing out carrots and the like to the nearest gram for the rest of my life. It only matters on fast days. I do know how hard it is though x

I'm quite full already & still have 700 cals to eat with me for my late shift! Tdee is lots of food

What's your TDEE now Lexie? Mine's only 1,667, so it's getting harder to get a decent deficit, lol. :) xx

And of course when you've lost a lot of weight like we have, they reckon your actual TDEE is about 20% lower than that of a "normal" person who's never been overweight, which is a bummer, lol. :) xx

I watch secret eaters every time it's on...usually shouting at the tv! Some of them seem so dense... "I didn't know Mars bars were that bad for you"....did you really think it was one of your five a day and didn't count if you ate it while you were making dinner!!! It is also frightening when I can see so much of the old me in them...in total denial about the state of my weight. Is one of my guilty tv pleasures though x

Exactly the same here. It's secret eaters which 2 weeks ago made my hubby start dieting, he obviously saw a lot of himself! He's lost a stone in 2 weeks!!

Now Tracy that's panicked me as I've been eating the tdee it said & maybe that's too high.... I have a little diary I write my weight down in every day so I can see the pattern & I'm 1lb less than I was this time last week so if my fasts go the same as last week & I do the same exercise I'm hoping pattern means I will be 1lb lighter this week making me 11:5. Let's see hey......

Apparently that's one of the (many) reasons so many people put weight back on, because they think they can start eating at a "normal" maintenance level, but your metabolism is never the same as that of someone who's never been overweight. So I know I'll always have to eat at what MFP thinks is a calorie deficit just to maintain. Ah well! :) xx
