B1rdy100 Green diary

Thanks, it did take some effort!

My son got me up stupidly early this morning so I've used the time to make a curry so hopefully today won't be quite as tempting as I know I have a yummy dinner ready for tonight. Fingers crossed x

Tuesday 30th July

Change of plan for lunch today, I was at a friends house. Not too horrendous though, could have been much worse.

Breakfast: HEXB 5 scanbran, fat free fromage frais, banana

Lunch: quorn chicken burger (3.5), mayo (1), white bread roll (5.5), lettuce and tomatoes

Dinner: chickpea and sweet potato curry, bachelors savoury rice

Snacks: HEXA koko chocolate milk, HEXB Special K chewy delight bar, banana

Wednesday 31st July

Breakfast: scrambled eggs on HEXB WW pitta bread, tomatoes, 1/2 nectarine

Lunch: chickpea and sweet potato curry, banana

Dinner: jacket potato, sweetcorn, salad, HEXA cheddar

Snacks: HEXA koko chocolate milk, HEXB ryvita minis, orange, grapes

This looks like loads of food today when it's written down like this.

I really wasn't impressed with the WW pitta bread, even toasted it tasted like cardboard. Might save the rest of the packet to go with hummus or something really flavoursome.

I managed to go swimming today, first time in months I've been able to go on my own (without a two year old in tow!), and I really enjoyed it and managed to swim a mile - totally shattered afterwards though.

Thursday 1st August

Breakfast: HEXB weetabix, HEXA koko chocolate milk, strawberries, banana

Lunch: last of the leftover chickpea and sweet potato curry, apple

Dinner: stuffed pepper with HEXA feta and savoury rice, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli

Snacks: HEXB Special K chewy delight, Americano from Costa, coffee with a splash of milk

I managed to go swimming again tonight (I must be on a roll!) but didn't do many strenuous lengths as I went with a friend of mine who has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and she risks losing her leg so the doctors told her swimming would help. We ended up having a really good time, and a little exercise is better than no exercise I guess. Weigh in is tomorrow, I hope I haven't absorbed all the water and gain weight - lol x

Friday 2nd August

Weigh in this morning and I lost 1.7kg :) happy happy today.

I've decided to set myself a challenge this week to have 7 different breakfasts, 7 different lunches and 7 different dinners. It will make me eat more different things, and not have the same lunch three days in a row like I quite often do and then end up bored.

Breakfast: baked beans with HEXB 6 ryvita crackerbread, orange

Lunch: Sainsburys tomato pasta pot (1.5), salad, carrot sticks, tomato, grapes, fat free dressing

Dinner: quorn sausages (2), potato wedges, onion, tomatoes, courgette, orange pepper, carrots, HEXA cheddar

Snacks: HEXA koko chocolate milk, HEXB two allen light bars, grapes, strawberries, quorn ham slices

Looks like I've eaten loads today

Saturday 3rd August

Breakfast: sweet couscous, fat free fromage frais, banana, strawberries

Lunch: scrambled eggs, baked beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots

Dinner: so the wedding reception didn't go so well food wise... They had a hog roast, with just salad as the veggie option (?!) so OH and I decided to get a Dominio's on the way home so i ended up eating a whole bl@@dy pizza with teo dips. Plus I ate rather too many canapés, had two glasses of pimms and a glass of champagne. Plus before we left I ended up going a bit nuts and had a total binge, but because I don't keep any cr@p food in the house I ended up eating waaaay too many Alpen light bars and ryvita minis, plus a slice of white bread with butter. So I'm sure now I've totally messed up for a loss this week. But I will draw a line, I'm awake early and childless so I think I will go for a swim and work really hard this week so I can at least either STS or have a small gain. Argh - so annoyed with myself

Can you please let me know how you do your butternut squash soup. I have just tried potato & sweetcorn soup and really like that. I do like bns so should like soup. Thanks.

Hope your Sunday going ok

Hi Doreen,

Yes I really enjoyed it, never made soup before but this was really nice and I got four bowls out of it. I don't know if u have a local farm shop but I've found BNS about a third of the price there than at the supermarket.

This is how I did it but can't say it is an actual 'recipe!'.

2/3 of a butternut squash
1 red onion
1 garlic clove
1 medium potato
3 medium carrots
1 litre vegetable stock

I roughly chopped everything, put it in a sauce pan, fried it off for 5 minutes then added the stock. Let it simmer for 20 mins until its all cooked then use a hand blender to wizz it up.

Really nice with HEXB bread or ryvita

Ali x

Busy busy day today, really hope I can stick with it...

Snacks: orange, banana

Really pleased with myself today, it had the potential to go horribly wrong food wise but luckily I managed to hold it together :)

Thursday 8th August

Breakfast: HEXB weetabix with 1/2 HEXA milk, nectarine, blueberries

Lunch: lentil bake (1/2 HEXA, 1/2 HEXB), broccoli, cauliflower, carrots

Dinner: stuffed peppers with couscous, boiled eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, onion

Weigh in is in the morning and I have come to the end of my challenge to eat different meals every day and every mealtime for a week. I wonder if it has had an impact. The Dominio's probably didn't help...

Friday 9th August

Weighed in this morning and lost 0.9kg. Not bad considering what a right off Saturday night was. As silly as it sounds I can't help but feel disappointed it wasn't 100g more to make a kilo lost. But 0.9 is still 2lb so I know I should be pleased really. Sometimes the journey ahead just seems so huge.

Feeling a bit uninspired with today's plan so it may change...

Breakfast: sweet couscous, fat free fromage frais, blueberries, grapes

Lunch: baked beans on HEXB toast, salad, carrots

Dinner: pasta, tomato sauce, runner beans, sweetcorn, HEXA mozzarella

Snacks: HEXB 6 Brazil nuts, HEXA koko chocolate milk, two cappuccino sachets with SS milk - no idea on syns but I haven't had any others today so I'm really hoping it's ok.

Thursday 15th August

Breakfast: sweet couscous, fat free fromage frais, banana, strawberries

Lunch: the planned scanbran burgers went horribly wrong, the mixture being far too wet to mould into burgers. I ended up tipping it all in a loaf tin and making some disgusting oinion-y loaf thing. Not one to waste food I ate 3/4 of it with salad, carrots and 1.25 HEXB's worth of Brazil nuts

Dinner: jacket potato, sweetcorn, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, HEXA cheddar
