Hiya hun! Just an errant member checking in :) Your food sounds yum for today...is that red wine and mushroom pasta homemade? xx

Hey hun,

It sounded yummier than it was! I think the sauce was a little to runny, I should have let it reduce more! I also didn't have any garlic so used garlic powder! I found the recipe on a site, I'll post it below for you. It could have been nicer!

Wish I could lose weight! I seem to have been at the same weight for 2 months now! :( Need to be more strict with myself!

Recipe:

Ingredients: Serves 2 (2 syns per portion on EE)

200g penne pasta
150g mushrooms, chopped
Half a large red pepper, deseeded and choped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
125ml red wine (4.5)
200ml beef stock
2 heaped tbsp Tesco normandy fat free fromage frais

Boil pasta as per packet instructions.

Fry the mushrooms, onions, garlic and pepper with fry light until tender. Add the beef stock and red wine and simmer until reduced by half. Add the pasta to the pan, and stir well to combine. Take off the heat, and stir in the fromage frais.

Serve immediately.

I don't think I'm going to get results with this diet, it just doesn't seem to work for me? I've done it before (but not for as long) and I didn't seem to shift any weight. I think I may give it until christmas and then go back to weight watchers as that seemed to work for me.

Todays food: (Late one at work until 10 pm :( so it will have to be EE!)

Breakfast: OSS

Lunch: Gammon salad, 2 x cheese Hex A, WW greek yog 0.5 syns, mayo 1 syn

Dinner: Potato wedges with bacon & cheese 3 syns

Snacks: Baked llamas 25g 5 syns, apple, yogurt, alpen light 3 syns

Syns: 12

Week: 27/105

I think it's trickier because you don't have (comparatively speaking) that much to lose. I like the freedom of SW. To me it's doable because nothing is banned - I'm in control. When I did WW (admittedly a long time ago now and I did get to target with them) it always seemed a temporary fix rather than a way of life. Of course, everyone is different. I hope you find something that suits you Rachel.

Haha I can't see your image on the comp at work! But I imagine you have put a photo of a llama there?!?! Fortunately for the Llama's they are little cheesy Llama shaped crackers! No Llamas were hurt in the process of making these delightful little nibbles! ;)

Yes that's true, I have about a stone to lose in total until I think I'll be happy! I just know from speaking to people who have also been on this diet who haven't had a lot to lose and they've lost it really easily and quickly. I don't know if my portion sizes are too big or if I jsut need to be stricter and be more picky when it comes to choosing what I spend my syns on! I'll see how it goes on the run up to Xmas, or I might just leave it until after Xmas, fresh start in Jan! Thank you for your helpful words! x

It was a long day yesterday! Hung around at school until 5.30pm and then went to an event to take some photos! Got home at around 10pm... I slept well!

Off to the gym today, seem to have recovered from last week now luckily! Will hopefully go again tomorrow or Friday.
